Ah I see LTEC (only every brought on ebay, never sold but soon will be! I have a Boden pile for when my sister visits and can take it back with her)
Someone please try and buy it then - lovely dress.

AllBuggiedOut · 16/01/2011 20:06

vin have you had your colours done? finding which are your wows might help ease you away from black!

Have we found a birthday presnet yet? I know this is children's but quite like this scarf...

Thanks so much for all your work on the meet-up ny, marsha and everybody who's been commenting. Now there is a plan I intend to break the news to DH...

Fantastic work on e-bay bloss. I have a couple of Boden things listed. Have £30+ of bids already; am checking constantly as am so excited. It could be a long week Grin

Redliquorice · 16/01/2011 20:12

Okay W&A ones I am taking the plunge. Some of you may remember that I have been lurking on this thread forever but post very rarely - shy emoticon - but now I have decided that I need your collective wisdom to sort me out once and for all. I really need help figuring out my colours! I know this is not rocket science but with my colouring...well, all help appreciated (waves to Bloss). I am a natural red head but with hazel eyes. I have very white skin but not a lot of freckles. I don't burn in the sun but just take ages to develop a pale golden colour (I have put pic in my profile...apologies for sartorial choices but I lived in Dhaka, wave to Zembo, at the time, was invited to a Red Party and that was the only red item of clothing I owned!!). I have always thought I may be an Autumn but I don't think I suit cream, I think I look better in white. Anyway, sorry for the mammoth post but really trust you will all deliver! It is my New Year resolution to become more "vocal" on this thread!!

Everything - well, you were looking for a puple number - I say its fate!

Redliquorice · 16/01/2011 20:33

Hi Everything! Thanks so much, would really appreciated your advice...you seem to know what you are talking about!

RipMacWinkle · 16/01/2011 20:40

Evening all, I just had to come and report back.

Well after being a bit of a twit yesterday I went back to TKMaxx this morning to buy the £13 "Ochre" Blochs...only to find that they were reducing all their clearance stuff by a further third. I bagged them for £9. Total bargain, very comfortable. Got a few other things too - couple of bags, stripy Paul Costelloe top, CK short trench jacket etc All for much bargainous prices.

Turns out I was being Wise even when I didn't know it.

Thanks for your advice ladies - off to read the rest of the thread now - so many posts even since last night!!

KILDARE4 · 16/01/2011 20:50

Hi Ladies, had a great day shopping in London yesterday and was exhausted when I got home last nightSmile.
DH bought theatre tickets as a surprise for Friday night - The Field - starring Brian Dennehy, it was superb! But only got 3 hours sleep due to late night and early flight!
Anyway back to shopping! I bought this and as I am not of model height it's a bit longer on me and I plan to wear it to MOAM!
And my alter ego bought this and this for work Wink
Anyone elses work and home wardrobe differ hugley?
BTW The Phase8 dresses look much better on than online, I think NY that you posted a link to one? and they would look great under a jacket and are a super price.
Marsha,NY ET AL thank you so much for all the work you've done on MOAMSmile.
Had lunch in Relais de Vienise, on Marlebone Lane, really tastey as per usual and cocktails in Claridges, so a fun day was had by all.
Need to get to bed early tonight as tomorrow is a school day!

blossoming · 16/01/2011 21:00

Hi everyone. fritzi, I'm sure you could wear purple! vin, definitely.
liquorice, I'm going to disagree with everything and say that redheads suit warm colours. So cream or winter white, soft white and stone, rather than white. I was like you before having my colours done. I thought I suited cream. (I am such a definite 'winter' though). White is better on me, but not a wow colour, and I don't wear it much really. I am mad about silver and grey this season worn with sapphire or blood red!
Anyway as I've said before it's s lovely day out getting your colours done properly and graded to suit you. Best £95 I ever spent!! Look at the kettlewell site (colour story section) for ideas.

So not only had ds shared mil's bed, he'd learnt to bounce up and down on it and they'd pulled Christmas crackers at 9.30pm.

Glad you had a good time Kildare. Great shopping, and I love the leather dress. Cocktails at Claridges sound lovely.

DTI10 · 16/01/2011 21:10

I have just lost the longest post - arggh.

CHOOGIRL · 16/01/2011 21:14

I have had my eye on the purple HH for ages. What do you think cake can I get away with it?

LetThemEatCake · 16/01/2011 21:19

if anyone can, you can choo - you have that sassy girl about town je ne sais quoi.

Would it be dreadful if I bought another HH?? I am culling lots of black dresses (sold our matchy matchy MJ dress) and have no purple other than the Anna Sui Phoenix (predominant colour) and as a probable winter I think I need purple no?

Kildare what a lovely day - so pleased for you

bloss I have not responded to the sleepover thing simply because my heart has only just started beating again since reading it. You, my lovely one, are so dignified and grand. Me? Let's not go to that dark, dark place.

Zembo · 16/01/2011 21:22

Hi Redliquorice - I remember you, you're one of those redheads that are in the 'stunning' category Smile. What did you make of Dhaka? I've never been brave enough to live there but have had a lot of holidays there.

Bloss I spend my life using clothes to detract from my 'natural beauty' - I'm sure I could benefit from some grooming but I just don't think it's me really. I do have my hair cut regularly and wear a bit of makeup so I do try a bit. Can't ever see me having regular manicures etc though. I've tried lots of different facials (sporadically) and remain unconvinced by them. I'd much rather have a good massage. BUT will try and make an effort for the MOAM so as not to let you all down!

Kildare fab shopping and v foxy dress - you'll look great.

Pickled I really have no idea what I'm going to wear yet. Have you decided yet?

Vin purple is gorgeous on winters - one of my favourite colours. I used to wear too much black, but colours actually make me feel better.

OWW hope you get a better nights sleep tonight. I def won't be showing any leg at the MOAM, so you won't be alone if you opt for opaques.

Hi Milli you sound like you belong here Smile

Roman I'm also planning an afternoon out for my DC so that I can go to London guilt-free.

OOOh well done on the shredding!

LetThemEatCake · 16/01/2011 21:30

zembo have been meaning to message you to say that I am very encouraged by the popularity of the wedge this season, our Choo Tiz shoes will be current as ever!

notyummy · 16/01/2011 21:34

Envy of Kildares day.....although the P8 floral looks bit like the one I have just ordered so I can live a little vicariously.

I am officially ill. This happens rarely and I am really hoping it is not the flu. High temp, bad aches and shivers plus sore throat. Off to raid the medicine cabinet and go to bed.

LetThemEatCake · 16/01/2011 21:36

um, omg.

just started printing off all of my tax return stuff, which I received from accountant before xmas.

only skimmed it at time and had it in my haead that owed I certain figure. Have just looked properly and it is ahem, a LOT less.

does this mean that I can start Jan budget from scratch? Grin

DTI10 · 16/01/2011 21:38

Retrieved it!

redliquorice - are you Carey Mulligan? Lovely photo. I am not the colours expert. Am sure one of them will be along shortly to advise.

Bloss - bit late but lovely jacket and you look fabulous in the photo.

Everything - Glad you are making progress. Keep going. I was your W&A twin today. I wore a black leather pencil skirt with Warehouse blouse, opaques (can't do the cold) and the boots I wore to the meet-up.

vin - are you coming to the meet-up? I have tried on all of those LKB linked shoes. The sledge in grey metallic is a lovely colour but they curve up at the front too much and look as if you will take off when you walk (that's my opinion - hope this does not cause offence) Perhaps that was me with my clodhopper feet but give them a go and report back if you like them.

Can I also add my thanks to marsha and ny and all the other W&A's for hard work on organising the meet up venue. Lack of input from me although London born and bred, sorry. Quick question though - what venue has been decided on? I have either missed a PM or mis-read the confirmation.

Can catch up now - had lovely weekend, domestics done, DC's woke up at a reasonable 6.30am this morning after a 2am return for DH and I after a night out with friends. I felt a bit OTT in what I wore - Nina Campbell for Ted Baker swallow print dress, opaques and long suede boots.

Thanks for all the opinions on blue dresses and lovely compliments. ny - the girl in the red dress IS a supermodel and so not my twin! Pls refer to LTEC as our W&A supermodel.

I am trying to be sensible on only having one blue dress which will be versatile for day (corporate world) and evening (limited social life). Need to try on again tomorrow. I have found the original Reiss (Princess Catherine dress) in blue in my wardrobe. It was lovely at the time but a bit gapey now. Any interest? I put too many things in the charity bag when I should really ebay but no time.

cake - I was thinking of my birthday dress in black and safe for me for meet up but not sure it will be right for venue (when I discover where and what it is!). I think I would be too overdressed for trendy central London).

B'day - I wore a pair of shoes from Mascaro but in Silver - (lovely 42's but a mad lunchtime dash to get to South Molton Street to shop. Much cheaper than this link. Chunky and high. Had on standby but returned as too tight. Also similar style to the gorgeous Reiss ones you have purchased. I love, love and treble love the Reiss shoes. I attempted to try on before Christmas but reluctantly agreed that the 41 was more of a 40 and therefore stepped away from them - gorgeous. Can so see you in them, amazing.

Choo - Edelmans the 3rd are on their way this week, will keep for sure. So pleased I will finally have them after returning twice. Hope the LV scarf is swiftly purchased this week. Did you receive my pm?

Where is esher? GD out this week and I have spotted a lovely butterfly dress that would so suit. No link as yet, not even on the French website.

hells - you do not need a make-up session in advance. Your make up was expertly applied at the last meet up and your skin is so perfectly flawless that you really do not need it.

Traceyb - hope DS2 recovers quickly. Sad for him and you.

Need to re-read the post to comment on others.

LetThemEatCake · 16/01/2011 21:38

oh no ny - hope you feel better in the morning

OllieWollieWoo · 16/01/2011 21:48

DTI10 - my ears pricked up when I read Reiss dress! What size? Do you have a link? Was in the navy one we liked over the summer with a draped front, or, and this may sound so silly, the Reiss dress that Kate Middleton was wearing for the official engagement photo shoot - which is what came up when I googled Princess Catherine dress!!! here

TheAllNewOoooh · 16/01/2011 21:50

I have a dilemma.

My lovely, sweet, generous DH is very pleased with the presents he has bought for my birthday on Tuesday. I'd asked for a tote bag and completely unsubtly shown him the NAP totes webpage.

I have after much sneaking accidentally on purpose found out that he has bought me these three bags:

Bag A

Bag B

Bag C

I don't like any of them Sad; well, I think the patent tote is ok but it's a bit practical. He's spent too much for me to fake it. I have to tell him, don't I? How do I do that without disheartening him? The generosity is very much appreciated.

He's bought me some lovely things from that shop before but has gone a bit wrong this time. What do you think about this instead? although it isn't the most practical for carting documents about.

Poor Mr Ooooh.

moragbellingham · 16/01/2011 21:54

Kildare so glad you provided that link. I advised my in-laws to take a wander around the area this week and it's good to know there is somewhere decent to eat.

Have just purchased the one remaining navy Janice to see if it's any friendlier than the stripey on my lumps and bumps. ( I did say it was ME that called my figure hourglass - others wouldn'tWink)

blossoming · 16/01/2011 21:54

Thanks dt.
ltec, I knew you'd understand! But ds has been so badly behaved because of fatigue and having his own way yesterday that dh has said he's never to go there again!
ny, take care of yourself.
tracey, hope your ds is okay.

CHOOGIRL · 16/01/2011 21:55

Thanks cake HH ordered. Which HH do you have your eye on.

DT not received a PM from you. Good luck with Edelman III
