Evening ladies Smile

Hello to all the new posters, you have to be disciplined here or your bank balance will really suffer.

First of all, thanks to Mumsnut who just saved me a lot of hassle trying to track down that pink scarf. I have been thinking about it all week, but my scarf drawer is bulging and I can't justify it having got the pink M by MJ for Christmas. So you just saved my wallet and my conscience also Smile

Bloss love your new purchases, are you going to wear them tomorrow? Much milder here today, so was able to wear navy wool coat which made a lovely change. Also wore NF ankle boots and did a lot of walking and survived, yay!

Carciofi so pleased Harrods parcel arrived, I'm sure the others will surface in a day or two.

NY love that story about your mothers help and the teddy, you are really lucky, she sounds lovely.

Everything sorry to hear you are feeling down at the moment, but once you have made the move thngs will start to improve. As others have said, don't throw out the baby clothes yet, a lot can happen in a couple of years, and you deserve a lot of happiness to come your way

Reine you are so kind to remember my aunt, thank you Smile We thought we had lost her at the weekend but she is tough and is hanging on, and actually had a slight improvement today. Our main priority is getting her back to Irealnd, but it is proving so difficult as all the ICU beds are taken up with swine flu patients. My cousin who is over there with her and my mum have spent the last 10 days on the phone to hospitals trying to arrange a transfer, it is quite a surreal situation. Fingers crossed something will change soon.

Had a bit of a windfall today and went straight to the matches website, but I think I might be wise and wait and buy something in London to remember the MOAM by.

Life so busy again now we are back to the term time routine, but managed to catch up on thread this morning in college when I was supposed to be researching a project. Had 2 windows open and clicked on art deco one when lecturer came in my direction Grin

VerityBrulee · 13/01/2011 22:21

Cake you are probably tucked up in bed now, but I really admire your determination, getting up at 4.30am and spending the day with dc is some feat. I feel ill at the thought of getting up that early.

Looby what a gorgeous family Smile

Fritzi don't worry, that kind of thing happens in our house to, dd has endless reasons not to get to sleep and sooner or later my patience runs out. You sound worn out, I hope you get some time to yourself at the weekend. Can dh and dd do something fun together while you spend a day on the sofa with a dvd and a good book? Take care of yourself Smile

Wow, so difficult to keep up on here!

Am off to google "shredding" and see what it involves as I was initially strangely inspired by Emma Ridley on a C4 show getting back into amazing shape.
Is it a quick fix, or sustainable?

redllama BFing on public transport - I can so remember the squirms. I was quite confused by the reactions, screaming hungry baby be more acceptable?

looby I think the dress is too much(£) and was quite suprised as they normally would do something similar in style for £150 - not silk obviously.

moragbellingham · 13/01/2011 23:17

BTW - Did anyone else see the stripey Janice in the front row of the SCD final?

redllamayellowllama · 13/01/2011 23:32

Morag - I did! Lady with a bob?

You would have thought so, huh? To be honest, I timed it badly, would rather not have been on the tube with DD in rush hour, but felt bad leaving as the people I was visiting are very isolated and were so thrilled to see a baby. I can remember seeing someone bf'ing on a bus pre-DC and thinking, why would you? How times have changed!

pickledsiblings · 13/01/2011 23:38

Everything, MOAM stands for Mother Of All Meetups, not Museum Of Modern Art as I keep reading it Grin.

OooohWhatIfItHurts · 13/01/2011 23:51

everything and bloss, thanks again for the colour analysis. Everything, we are very similar in colouring - you look a little more rosy than me though perhaps? Oh and please do keep the baby clothes Smile. You never know what will happen and it doesn't sound anyway as though you are ready to part with them.

Bloss, given how well your jacket/scarf combo worked, I am convinced. I think I will book a colour session. Looking forward to restocking my wardrobe with lots of colourful pieces! And yes I am the proud copycat owner of The Feathers.

But more importantly, how can you possibly have chocolate left over from Easter???!!??? Must be why you're looking so well. I, on the other hand, must fess up to sharing chocolate and ginger cake with DH tonight. Sooooo good. . Can't crack the cake habit I acquired when breastfeeding.

Lots of restraint from wise ladies on here. I, on the other hand, have been irrefutably avid. My Blochs arrived today, and they are so pretty - I like the shimmer, so they are a summer keeper. Loving the Belstaffs too; really flattering with skinnies, they actually make my legs look long.

Also received a Brora parcel; my blouse is a leetle bit too close to a Lunn Poly uniform for my liking Hmm. Nice shape though, but not quite sure what I was thinking.

I have stuffed the many empty boxes under the bed and not mentioned the new additions at all to DH.... worse than both of you, meggles and OWW.

OWW I'm doing the shred but only on the days I don't work - so 4 days a week. I did it on sore days initially and that effect has now worn off thank God. But I'm still seeing some early results Grin. Arms and legs though, but not my stomach - Jillian's good but not that good!

To Traceybath and Roary who liked the red dress - I keep hoping that it will be vastly reduced to reflect its knicker flashing qualities and then I could justify it, but no luck so far. You must have the same taste - haven't you both bought the J Crew jacket too? I looked at it but am waiting to see if the khaki is one of my colours Grin.

Looby the ruffling on the Whistles dress is a bit too fussy for me, I prefer the shape of this DVF?

Phew monster post!

OooohWhatIfItHurts · 14/01/2011 00:22

PS everyone, what do we think of wedgey trainers like these?. I just don't know but I'm short and could do with the inches...

LetThemEatCake · 14/01/2011 01:00

uuurgh, my so-called early night didn't quite pan out that way.

Only one glass of wine though Smile

will catch up tomorrow, promise promise. I feel very neglectful and guilty, isn't that funny! Like I do when I ignore my dc for 10 mins or so. Grin That's how much I love you Wink

Hope everyone is okay.

MarshaBrady · 14/01/2011 05:56

Macmama sorry I have accidently kept you on the big pm list. Please say here if you would like everyone to remove you? Annoying or nice to know what is going on.... Smile

FritziGreenEyes · 14/01/2011 06:21

Morning ladies! Not really up early as there is one hour time difference here.

verity and reallygrumpy Thanks for your kind words. Very reassuring to hear that I'm not alone and that there are also other DDs who are not angels all the time. Went to bed early and feel a bit better already.

Also wanted to say thanks to marsha and notyummy who are doing such a great job in organizing our meet-up. Please don't take my lack of response to all the wonderful suggestions for locations as a sign of disinterest, but I'm a bit overwhelmed and will leave the decision to the locals I think.

AntPants1 · 14/01/2011 06:25

I have been doing the 30 day shred too. On day 12. Was initially a bit snuffy about workout DVDs but jillian takes no prisoners and I am definately seeing results. Have just started level 2 and is killing me. Was a very hot and sweaty potato after doing it last night.

FritziGreenEyes · 14/01/2011 06:26

Sorry I haven't seen that so many others of you also responded to my bedtime woes! bloss The thing is I'm trying to follow your example by restricting wine to Fri/Sat only. Had too much over the holidays.

ollie Your DH's comment about "his" Pure jacket just made me smile. Think you should definitely get it now Smile

MarshaBrady · 14/01/2011 06:30

Morning Fritzi and Ants!

Thanks for thanks, Smile It's fine as long as I can pm before children are up. Quick posts on ipod are fine, but long stints at the comp are quite tricky! Plus ds2 wants to use the mac, at one! So sometimes I'll post on here for extra efficiency...

And I haven't been looking at links, but sure they are all lovely!

LetThemEatCake · 14/01/2011 07:26

think I have managed to catch up thanks to playing Night Garden on split screen (don't expect quality time from me if you're going to wake up at 6am, thank you very much Baby L)

awesome work on venues NY and marsha
red that warehouse dress is fab, must resist and live vicariously through you. And get dressed up on Friday!! never knowingly underdressed, that's our motto Wink
Grey ungaro is fabulous sophable - love it. Friend of mine designs for them, wonder if it is one of hers?
looby I think the green leopard is a bit too busy but then I am funny about that.
carciofi I love your sandals
bloss you and your dh make me laugh Smile I am a chocolate chucker as well.
ooooh I am slightly concerned to hear that we are virtually neighbours with matching wardrobes, we may need to confer before leaving the house to avoid 90210 Brenda & Kelly Prom Syndrome! Grin
MrsJ you are so lovely but can do better than that dress. Something like this style would look goo on you I imagine
fritzi so sorry you had a trying bedtime. Bedtime here lasts up to about an hour. Difficult not to get impatient. My dd has also been particularly trying just lately, and I imagine it only gets worse! Grin Hope you are both ok today
To all those with work woes (including inconsiderately placed KKs Grin vin) I hope you are all okay. roma have you had phone call yet? hope it went well, good luck if yet to come. Ny sorry for long day the other day, hope you get extra cuddles with dd this weekend.

welcome and air kiss to delurkers Smile

tracey what a bugger about the LV scarf but yay for free council tax money

ASOS parcel arrived yest - containing the pink reiss dress in the 10. so annoying as I tried to cancel the order when I bought the 8 at westfield but they said it was too late - so then why did I only get despatch email 5 days later? too late my foot. Back it goes.

right I hear stirrings of other children above - off I go, Apols to anyone I missed and have lovely days

LetThemEatCake · 14/01/2011 07:49

oh andplum glad the 'dry cleaning' tip worked for you!

and reallygrumpy thank you so much for your kind and positive comments, they mean a lot.

forgot to say the other day that dr said that bald patch is actually only size of 20p piece, not 50p which is what I though from squinting with 2 mirrors. So not so bad Wink

OllieWollieWoo · 14/01/2011 07:49

A little Friday morning treat for all my fellow CF fans Smile
contented sigh

AntPants1 · 14/01/2011 07:52

Cannot justify....

But these remind me of the pixie boots I had C. 1984.....

hellsbelles · 14/01/2011 07:59

yeah for small currency LTEC Grin

Off out in a bit for DD's 2 year health check. First HV visit in err...2 years!

DS had 'trouble at school' yesterday which was totally out of character.

Will catch up later...hope everyone is well.

redllamayellowllama · 14/01/2011 08:00

Am so impressed by your drive LTEC. It must lighten the load during the day, knowing that you have done things you need to. Well done you.

Pooh, you have been avid! Shame about the Brora blouse - I hate it when the reality of something is very different to the pics. I don't know about heeled trainers - think someone on here has the heeled Ash ones and loves them. But I just think, well, they're trainers, why would they have a heel? Defeats purpose, no? Also, can't rid myself of the image of Victoria Beckham taking the starting bat wearing them and trying to be all coy and giggly. She's so annoying.

PlumSykes · 14/01/2011 08:00

Morning!

Am wedding dress shopping with friend this morning. How exciting!

She has already fallen forthis one, and wants to make sure there's nothing she likes more. Then we're having lunch, and seeing florist this arvo. Bit worried how DS will be for my mum, since he is doing his best koala baby impression at the moment , but couldn't pass up chance to view satin and lace!

Am getting very excited about meet up, really must book train and hotel.

Can't believe you're all Shredding. Come one Plum, buy some weights and feel the burn!

redllamayellowllama · 14/01/2011 08:02

Ooh, not pooh! Bloody auto-correct on I-pad. How do I turn it off?!

Ants, am at exactly the same stage as you and found yesterday a killer. None of the stiffness anymore though and the changes so far are such an incentive.

redllamayellowllama · 14/01/2011 08:05

Have fun wedding dress shopping Plum, hope DS enjoys his day with Grandma.

I'm still on soup cans as haven't bothered to get weights yet. Should really order some, but soup cans seem to be working!
