Yes Blossom it was "your" pure coat/ jacket. Just love it but unfortunately I do have large boobs. 34F. Am hoping they will not ruin it. Sorry about Whitstles links will try ASOS route.

AntPants1 · 13/01/2011 17:47

Ok...flexes fingers...let's see if this works. The belt is extra by the way but I "had" to have it....

looby, I kind of like that dress, but not at that price.
carciofi, I've completely overspent already this month and last month! Also I love that sillhouette, but it only works for me with heels, which are not practical for me day to day. I thought I'd wear them to the rugby weekend.. but apart from that I can't think of an occasion to wear them. My life is sahm in the country, so hardworking flats needed, or dress up nights out with dh, when I like to wear dresses. We'll see. I could return the IO jersey dress when it finally gets exchanged (I have a similar problem to you with non appearance of a returned item right now).
How tall are you ollie? As carciofi said they are quite different styles. If you want your bottom covered, go for the KM. But I will say the Pure jacket is made of the softest fabric ever, really lovely.

Forgot to say, how disappointing about the scarf traceybath. Well spotted mumsnut.

Ants- I do like that dress. How were you planning style it, because that would be my conundrum?

notyummy · 13/01/2011 18:29

OWW- They are both great jackets. I guess it depends on what you have the most of already. If you have a load of shorter jackets then it is harder to justify the Pure jacket and vice versa.

notyummy · 13/01/2011 18:34

Ladies

If there are any of you that are thinking of attending the meet-up and haven't mentioned it yet (either on thread or to me via PM) then can you let me know? If we book a venue at some point in the next week we will have go give them an idea of numbers. OPlus we gave to order food platters etc in advance and get payment from you all on the night. Obviously things can change, so it's not set in stone!

reallygrumpy · 13/01/2011 18:53

Thanks mumsnut, I was getting v tempted by the LV scarf but nearly £300 for cotton seems crazy, think I'll get a new lily and lionel one instead.

Roma how did the call go? I hate those kind of calls.

FritziGreenEyes · 13/01/2011 18:53

ollie The Karen Millen is great but I think you'll probably get more wear out of the Pure jacket, esp. in the transition to spring. The KM is also more expensive.

FritziGreenEyes · 13/01/2011 19:03

I almost just shouted at DD to be quiet and go to sleep now (one hour time difference here) Blush after she made me run up the stairs with demands for water, another wee, another cuddly toy and whatever else you can imagine. Might need to rethink our bedtime routine Confused. All quiet now but I still feel bad and totally worn out. Called my Mum today but she is busy with things next week and I did not dare her to ask to step in and help me out. Have to find the courage to ring new babysitter tomorrow or I'll go mad. I think the day started badly when the first thing DH said to me while I was still in the shower was: "Is the dry cleaning still in your car?" Err, yes, after I ran to the cashpoint after work yesterday and then to the dry-cleaners in the pouring rain before picking up our daughter from kindergarten, grrr. Rant over...

Will have some mint tea and try cake's lark approach as there is no chance I'll get any more work done tonight.

notyummy · 13/01/2011 19:49

Hi ladies - LTECs message about the meet-up reminded me of a mission I had re names. I was going to circulate all the 'real' names of people to those attending the meet-up in advance. I have most people's, but not all.

If you are not a FB friend of mine, and haven't already PMed me with your real name (thanks to those who have) then can you do so if poss and I can complete the table. [anal secretary emoticon]

carciofi · 13/01/2011 19:50

Bloss, very sensible! I think I'll send my returns by pigeon next time.

That black dress is very cool, NY.

Fritzi, are you still going to get the LV scarf? I need to find a new babysitter as well. Hope you can relax for the rest of the evening.

notyummy · 13/01/2011 20:07

W and A ladies, I have a minor kids playdate dilemma and thought I would ask.... WWYD?

Dd had a best friend at nursery- really good friends. He has been here for playdates 3/4 times Inc a sleepover. She has been to his a few times. They are now at different schools but have seen each since school started. I have texted her twice over the past month asking if he wanted to come over, but no reply. DD is really keen to see him. I do gave their home no as well but am not sure whether it looks like I am a stalker by ringing the home no after 2 texts not returned. Perhaps she has decided not to reply deliberately! DD, bless her, keeps saying 'she may have lost her phone mummy-please ring the other number. I want to see x.'

What to do??

redllamayellowllama · 13/01/2011 20:18

NY I would just call. I very often look at a text, mean to reply and then forget to. I text far too much and get myself in text conversations when a call would have sufficed.

redllamayellowllama · 13/01/2011 20:20

Fritzi, sorry to hear you had such a fraught bedtime. Sounds like you've got lots on your plate at the minute; call that babysitter!

notyummy · 13/01/2011 20:26

Spooky! She literally just texted me- paranoia over Grin.

Fritzi- yes, you need some time out. I know exactly how you feel and I have also done the 'bellowing at bedtime' routine. So soothing......!

blossoming · 13/01/2011 20:34

Wine *fritzi, more wine!

NY - you don't think she's a lurker do you? Wink

redllamayellowllama · 13/01/2011 20:37

Hideous journey today to North London which culminated in some extreme feeding on the rush-hour tube. The man next to me was so outraged he got up and jumped on the next carriage. Was funny.

Hi Ants another newbie here whose bank balance has been affected by this thread! Ooh I have also gone A&W overboard. In fact, was wearing stripy Janice today at Monkey Music and another Mum was in the Warehouse grey leopard scarf and I'm sure she kind of clocked the dress and did a double-take as I did the same.

Looby was in Whistles today and they had the dress in a 6 and an 8 at that price. Let me know if that works with your vitals and would happily get on your behalf.

Popped into Noa Noa, which I've never really been into before and they had some gorgeous stuff for DD's heavily reduced in the sales. Nothing for me though, all a bit floaty/open knit for my tastes.

OWW the In-Wear top arrived today and I love it. Thank you for the recommendation.

Also, thank you so much for bringing shredding to my life ladies. The difference it is making is monumental - I haven't felt really good about my body since having DS and am beginning to get some confidence back which has had a lovely knock-on effect with mine and DH's relationship, IYKWIM.

Thx for feedback on Whistles dress NY and bloss.
Bloss- it is £105 on the Whistles website- agree the asos price is ludicrous!
I think I will leave it though as suspect the over frilly bottom bit is not for me and will make my hips look even wider :)

ollie- both coats are v nice but I would say go for the Pure Collection one if you will use it more.

NY- would just call the little boy's mum- some people are no good at replying to texts.

fritzi- sorry about your stressful bedtime! Sounds like bedtime chez moi!

red that's v kind of you to offer to purchase the Whistles dress on my behalf! An 8 should hopefully be okay (am 8-10). Shall I PM you?

reallygrumpy · 13/01/2011 21:08

fritz we have had some hellish bedtimes with DD (who's 3) and have resorted (bad mother emoticon) to putting a stairgate on DD's bedroom doorway - the threat of shutting the stairgate is usually enough to get her to stay in bed. It may sound awful but after a few evenings of 2 to 3 hours of DD coming downstairs and me returning her to bed I was at the end of my tether!
