Would a camel cape be entirely wise? Or a pair of houlihans a bit too avid?? Who cares!

Hey bunny.

blossoming · 23/07/2010 21:54

Hi notyummy, great title!
Dh has very excitedly taken delivery of his new iPhone and is playing with his new toy.
We were just talking about regrets. Do you have a few?
I wish I'd taken a winter off to work a ski season.

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 23/07/2010 21:54

Sorry off to bed but just marking....

(p.s if anyone sees a pair of battered grey biker boots on their website travels let me know please)

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 23/07/2010 21:55

blossom tell your DH he should regret getting an iphone and should have gone for an HTC

deffo off to bed now.

notyummy · 23/07/2010 21:58

In my younger days I was an arse to a couple of blokes because I was immature and enjoyed the attention. There are not many things I wish I hadn't done, but that is definitely one.

Hi notyummy, great title, I was really sorry to hear about your office closure but I'm sure if you've made it to SCS already then you're v able and will find something else. I'm really sad, I'm working on a fri eve (home alone as dh is out with friends).

I've also been checking out handbags on my iPhone but can't find anything I like, I want a slouchy brown leather bag without blingy bits or tassles but don't want to spend £££

blossom I regret not going to live and work in new York

monkeysmama · 23/07/2010 22:02

Thanks to you all for lovely, supportive posts. And to Reine for dedicating an entire post to me .

NotYummy my dd is 2 & loves food. Great to hear of another one. Everyone I know has kids that don't eat. We went to Gaucho tonight & dd had a smoked trout starter & green veg risotto. Her fave is Japanese-the california roll covered in cod roe .

Sil BBQ tmrw & believe (as they say where I grew up) she called dp tonight to see what I'll be wearing!?!? He thought I was overreacting til she called but I was very pleased when he said none of them look like they care about clothes and that she'd do far better worrying about what she was going to wear. I hope it's warm enough for playsuit. If not I'm thinking black skinny cotton trews, sky high but comfy black strappy wedges & a silk shirt. Plum your suggestions made me lol earlier!

notyummy · 23/07/2010 22:02

Oh, and I wish I had realised that there was nothing wrong with my body that some running and circuit training couldn't fix.....and that I didn't need to do a range if silly things to be a size 10.

And I wish I had travelled more when I was younger.

Oops NY thought first post was from Bunny

blossoming · 23/07/2010 22:06

Htc?

notyummy · 23/07/2010 22:06

Good grief mm. Your sil sounds like a piece if work! Who cares what you wear? I'm amazed that anyone could be so controlling!

reallygrumpy · 23/07/2010 22:06

OMG dh has just called, the friend he's out with has just said he wants to leave his wife, they've got an 8 wk old baby. Dh has taken him to the pub for a pint (which will probably lead to several more) and is trying to tell him it's prob having a new baby which puts lots of pressure on most marriages and not to do anything rash

Zembo · 23/07/2010 22:08

Libra my DH goes on about the HTC being miles better than the iphone too. I just tune out, cos I haven't got a clue about such things

Thanks for the new thread Notyummy your DD sounds very bright and 'grown up'

Off to ponder my regrets. Can't actually think of any HUGE ones just now. But, I'm fairly sure I'll regret not having another DC if I don't manage it (still working on DH and beginning to feel a shift in my favour)

monkeysmama · 23/07/2010 22:10

I always lived my life with the idea of "never say what if" but my biggest regret is not realising that the challenge wasn't always to do new things, take the leap, leave security for excitement. The biggest what if, and probably regret, for me will always be "what if I hadn't gone".

reallygrumpy · 23/07/2010 22:13

mm I only just caught up on the last thread, I'm so sorry for the day you had yesterday, I hope you're feeling better. Those days when everything feels too much are so hard, I've had a few recently but dd often cheers me up. Her latest lovely thing is that whenever I ask her how I look she says 'you look beautiful mummy' so from now on I'm only going to ask her opinion, not dh's, on clothes.

You sil is probably trying to make sure you wear boring clothes tomorrow because she knows that you're going to look a hundred times more fabulous and stylish than her!

hf128219 · 23/07/2010 22:13

MM Bonkers!

RG That is sad.

Here's one worth a look Second page.

PlumSykes · 23/07/2010 22:32

MM, I genuinely don't understand. What have you ever worn to make your SIL so worried about tomrrow? And who are these people who might not approve? Is the Queen going to be there? Although, even Her Maj would surely love a jumpsuit.

What will SIL be wearing? And why does she care so much about your clothes? Why? What? I just don't get it!

PlumSykes · 23/07/2010 22:33

Shameless self-promotion, but one of the school-moms I was out with last night just sent me a text to say that when I left last night, they were all talking about how lovely I looked in my Vanessa B dress!

monkeysmama · 23/07/2010 22:35

Well, when I first met her I was wearing leather trousers and she's never forgotten it. I mean, with a proper top etc but to her it was just an insult and then on holiday we went to get dressed for dinner. She appeared in a per una ensemble and I was wearing a playsuit. That's it.

PlumSykes · 23/07/2010 22:36

Not sure I have regrets, exactly, but lots of 'I wonder what would have happened if I had/hadn't gone there/done that/called him'

I do wish I had been braver when I was younger-am fairly fierce and fearless now, but used to be a very Cautious Clara.

PlumSykes · 23/07/2010 22:39

Ha! Am crying with laughter at idea of leather trousers being an insult.

I 'don't understand' Per Una. She can shove it.

ReineDeSaba · 23/07/2010 22:41

very nice hf..I think I look dreadful in camel though so bit anxious for A/W..

I regret trying on the beautiful green reiss dress MM linked to a couple of months ago when still had serious postbaby poundage..gorgeous dress but my eyes!my eyes!

But honestly?I'm not proud of how I extricated myself from my last relationship..I am with 'the one' now,but I could have been much kinder but when you're deeply unhappy..Also I wish I'd visited a gf when she lived in Hong Kong..a little niggly one as love to visit places when you have a resident guide..I should have just gone but over preoccupied about being a poor student and ended up in big debt post uni anyway.

carciofi · 23/07/2010 22:43

Nice title Notyummy!

RG, sorry to hear that. It is very stressful when you have a new baby.

MM, your sil really takes the biscuit!

Am envious of the good eaters, my DD only eats about five things and she has a tiny appetite. She seems healthy despite this and is very tall for her age. Guess she will eat when she is hungry.

I did regret leaving New York for a couple of years but I am over it now.

ReineDeSaba · 23/07/2010 22:45

Plum..how lovely to get that great feedback..is it you that has the fab new makeup reviewing stint?[green]

RG..very depressing..

ReineDeSaba · 23/07/2010 22:50

my DD1 is a good eater but poor sleeper..swings and roundabouts(sigh)..she loves sushi too, especially the roe..she and her little friend ate so much of it at a NYC buffet once they stopped putting more out
