Would a camel cape be entirely wise? Or a pair of houlihans a bit too avid?? Who cares!

ltec - just scared of the whole hareem/ pear shaped thing . The last thing I need is volume on my thighs!

Hooray for tuna. I like tuna; in fact fish and shellfish in general are big favourites in this house.

Yes, I do like the look of the footwear;just hope it stands up to real life scrutiny.

Cain How's the sizing of the Asos skinnies? I missed out on the RI ones and think I will give those a try.

So sorry about your holiday LTEC

Zembo · 26/07/2010 06:27

Morning all! As you can see I'm most definitely a lark and NOT a night owl which is why 4.15am is manageable for me

Party went really well yesterday. Lots of lovely compliments on the food and DD had a great time with her little mates. I made sure I was overdressed by wearing my Tiz wedges, like these but in black with biker style black skinnies and an ethnic style Kameez top in bright cerise with a bit of black embroidery around the neckline. The shoes were so comfortable.

LTEC so sorry about your hols. I would cry. Family holidays are essential in our household as its proper family time (I lone parent like you most of the time), so can understand why going it alone is not an option. You must re-book something. Most impressed by your running. I saw myself on the video clip from our party last night - think my face is looking too skinny, but would still like a bit more weight off my body - the classic getting older dilema

Cain love the khaki trousers, might order
too as missed out on RI ones.

Everything sorry not that keen on the dress.

Ok off to get ready for work, bye!

Fleecy really like the jumpsuit

blossoming · 26/07/2010 08:50

I cannot go a day without make up! Without it I look ill. On the rare occasion my mum might pop round before I'm ready she'll always say, oh you're looking tired.. Then the next day, oh you're looking so much better today!
I have friends who don't wear a scrap of make up. Some, like the friend who came yesterday look good regardless. In my mind ltec falls into this natural beauty compartment. Others (sis) I am itching to get at her with my make up bag (well cheaper brands maybe!)
I just love a good makeover.. Touch of tinted moisturiser, lip and cheek stain (nice free one with sep Instyle), mascara, maybe eyeliner. I'd be in my element!!

DolceeBanana · 26/07/2010 08:56

Hi y'all

Firstly - Cake - bugger, bugger about the holiday...think Tracey's idea of family time in luxury spa good....can you at least organise that? Really feel for you because like Zembo and most of us, family holidays are essential. Lovely for you and DCs to have DH around a bit....fingers crossed for a break soon...you do need it!

Zembo - outfit sounds fab - love the wedges! Glad party went well....Its all worth it for their little faces, isn't it?Have the same issue re face/body...I'm just over 8 stone now -yeeahhh! But noticed face looking thin...so probably drawing the line...also barely fill a B cup! Having said that feel really good, not bloated (as cut bread entirely), more energy, and DH complimentary..does make you more confident!

Cain - love khaki trews too!

La Redoute have some fab biker skinny jeans in grey which I am deffo getting for AW dahlinks...will try and get some links going later....

Christening was fab yesterday...amazing and wonderful couple with baby who'd lost a baby 2 years ago, so v emotional...but joyful at the same time. Of course, drank way too much....kids had a ball and one of those magical english summer afternoons !

Right, off to clear up and get ready to take DCs out for a walk....not sure what the weather is doing!

carciofi · 26/07/2010 09:16

Cain, lovely trousers, wish they came in a longer length.

NY, cool clogs.

Zembo, your outfit yesterday sounds lovely, glad the party went well.

Dolcee, 0034 for 20% off at La Redoute.

LTEC, have only seen photos and not met you in person but you don't need make-up and look gorgeous, wish I could say the same. I look ill without blusher/bronzer/tinted moisturiser! Sorry about the holiday but you made me laugh with your description of JO!

EIE, I think I had that dress when I was 17.

Fleecy · 26/07/2010 09:30

Just popping in - eie you must be having fun searching for your vintage outfits!

zembo glad it went well yesterday. You are an early bird aren't you I don't function before about 8am.

Right, working from home today when I should be at clients because car broken and in garage. More money wasted 12hrs work to do today though so will be back much later this evening.

Loving your links, keep them coming so I can have a good ole browse tonight.

Enjoy your day...

bunnymother · 26/07/2010 12:25

Cakey - oh so sorry your holiday has been cancelled!! I can relate - consultant said on Friday doesn't want me travelling to Australia, and thinks it will only be OK if everything is going really well. Will be too worried to go, so that's it for our Australian trip . We can commiserate together. Some virtual wine for you and a virtual mocktail for me.

This is a high risk pregnancy (many potential complications, so have to go for lots of tests and monitoring etc) - will only be out of the woods once the babies are born. This thread will be really good for me during this pregnancy so I don't just think about the twins (not that I would - for starters have Delie to look after).

MM - ha ha re wine loosened tongue. Well, your in-laws sound v difficult so hope you found it therapeutic.

Tracey - whoa there MIL!! I would have been tense all over hearing that. Have also experienced some grandparent proprietorial comments re Delie that made me angry. Hopefully sweet Bea kept a check on her walking until her parents (v's her grandparents) are there to see!

MrsJuan and Cain - thanks for the congrats! As you will no doubt understand from the above am v cautiously optimistic. Am starting to understand what people go through to have their families.

Zembo - congrats on the party! Lots of v lucky little DCs on this thread w parents (esp mummies!) who work v hard to make sure they have lovely birthdays.

everything - wow, that dress is certainly '80's!! You sure will look the part - buy buy buy!

blossoming - I adore jewel colours, and just reading "sapphire" makes me smile.

blossoming · 26/07/2010 12:40

everything, I'm surprised that dress isn't too bad! When I clicked on the link and saw Laura Ashley come up, I really expected some puff sleeve floral monstrosity like the one I had. Brave you though to venture into 80s territory!

blossoming · 26/07/2010 12:51

Ooh gorgeous dress alert.

bunny, I was high risk for dc3, and was monitored throughout. Basically, with dc2, everything was as normal until about 36 weeks, when my midwife was worried about my iron count, and thought I was large for dates. She sent me for a scan, and all hell broke loose, as I'd had a haemorrage (sorry, sp) from the placenta. They sent me down to Cardiff immediately (2 and a half hours away), I had another scan where they thought this was causing distress for the baby, and gave me a caesaren straight away. She was in ICU for 2 months, DH was at home, and dc1 (16 months) was with my parents 3 and a half hours away. And he'd never been away from me before. Talk about your life changing overnight. Anyway, she got better, we took her home, she started smiling and being alert, then at 9 months we were diagnosed CP.
So I was quite pleased to be high risk for dc3, as there was no way of knowing that I'd had this haemorrage, were it not for the scan.

bunnymother · 26/07/2010 13:02

Blossoming - wow, I love that dress and Delie's real name is Cordelia - could this be fate and something to look forward to for when I get back to my normal size/shape (eventually...)??

Christ, what a stressful time you had w DC2's birth!! I am also worried about being whisked into hospital and little DD (who, like your DC1, has never been away from me) being left in the care of some hastily hired nanny (no family here). I agree that being high risk is good in that you do get lots of monitoring, but its all the potential complications that mean I am feeling v cautious about the twins. There really isn't anything I can do but consider all the outcomes and "make my peace" with them so that am prepared (but not alarmed). And keep on looking at beautiful clothes!!

blossoming · 26/07/2010 13:21

Well, I'm sure you can count on all of us for online support anyway bunny, and I suppose preparation for any eventuality is the key otherwise.
When I was expecting dc2, I thought the worst that could happen was me having to have a caesarean, as we lived a car's drive from anywhere. How wrong I was!
I dreamt about dc2 last night, for the first time I think. Strange, and my mum came in and said she was missing her terribly too.

I just took delivery of this in the ink. Before you all grimace, it's drizzly here again!! And a nice bit of merino can help to keep the chill away. I'm off to the zoo tomorrow, where I have often been cold in the past, and may wear it as a base layer over my cropped jeggings, my pewter pumps, and wait for it, the piece de la resistance over the top: the lily&lionel zebra Fitting no? For the zoo?

bunnymother · 26/07/2010 13:44

Thanks very much, Bloss, I appreciate your support and kind words . Life can really dish up some devastating blows. Wonder if you are only ready now to dream of DC2?

Oh you really need wool and cashmere when its cold - to shiver is misery. I would love a L&L scarf! But I also really want some Asscher cut diamond earrings (engagement ring is set w one). Think DH would prefer I went down the scarf route...

traceybath · 26/07/2010 13:52

Fleecy - glad you had fun in Jersey

Bloss - wow - 2 months in NICU must have been awful - its amazing what you do cope with and get through when you have too.

And on a lighter note - I love that dress!

Bunny - you sound like you're being incredibly sensible and I have a good feeling about your pregnancy

Well, guests all gone, DS1 has been to football camp - dishwasher and washing machine on continuously and I feel the need for a little online retail therapy.

What to buy what to buy . . .

LetThemEatCake · 26/07/2010 14:02

bunnymother · 26/07/2010 14:20

Why not a tan bag, Cakey? Or black if tan is a bit much?

bunnymother · 26/07/2010 14:24

ASOS has navy bags:

Paul & Joe

ASOS cheap and cheerful but still leather

Reiss

LetThemEatCake · 26/07/2010 14:28

blossoming · 26/07/2010 14:46

I like the clarks plum one.
Coming from left field, I think red would be good with those colours.

DolceeBanana · 26/07/2010 15:31

Sorry Cake...I'm not convinced on tan access with bright green dress...navy yes ...

LetThemEatCake · 26/07/2010 15:57

wouldn't do all navy though surely

bunny I love that Reiss. And omg about australia. That's gutting.
