Would a camel cape be entirely wise? Or a pair of houlihans a bit too avid?? Who cares!

LTEC Yes, I like that Joseph cape too.

Oh goodness - poor you re holiday. That is rubbish. Could you go alone? Or would that be a emoticon?

LetThemEatCake · 25/07/2010 21:14

holiday, hf. Holiday.

Me alone with 3 dc? that ain't no holiday. That's just, like, my life

hf128219 · 25/07/2010 21:17

Of course - I forgot it is meant to be a holiday. You may as well stay at home with some antipasti and chianti.

It's rubbish - I can understand your feelings re JO. Maybe he could lend you a nanny?!

LetThemEatCake · 25/07/2010 21:20

OMG can you imagine the flight!!

he bloody should lend me a nanny

carciofi · 25/07/2010 21:22

Aw LTEC, so sorry about your holiday being cancelled.

Great shopping Libra. Just wore jeans and a cream cardigan and cream silk top last night, I am trying to make better use of what I have and save up for a gorgeous pale pink DKNY cozy I spotted a while ago.

Bloss, apparently I should have exfoliated, moisturised and then applied the fake tan with a little spatula but of course I just slapped it on in a hurry. Not buying it again!

Glad you survived the bbq, MM!

I mostly get my DD's shoes from One Small Step. Pollyanna in Fulham also have a nice selection of children's shoes if anyone is nearby.

Welcome back Mrs Juan.

hf128219 · 25/07/2010 21:23

No flight - I had visions of you heading off in the VW transporter singing 'Aye aye yippie yippie aye'

traceybath · 25/07/2010 21:23

LTEC - nightmare regarding holiday.

Are you watching Sherlock Holmes - tis very good.

blossoming · 25/07/2010 21:24

Oh that's dreadful ltec. what can I say? Boo hiss Jamie Oliver!
Thanks for saying such nice things. Hope we cheer you up like you always do to us.

traceybath · 25/07/2010 21:27

LTEC - how about a weekend away in this country but somewhere family friendly but luxurious with spa. Calcot is nice

hf128219 · 25/07/2010 21:33

Tracey I was just going to suggest that! Great minds and all that.

LetThemEatCake · 25/07/2010 21:34

thanks ladies.

no, no way would i drive hf. I can't drive the Transporter (and dh will need it for work anyway) and my Renault is way too small.

I am happy to think that I ever cheer anyone up though. Thanks bloss.

Fleecy · 25/07/2010 21:36

cake glad you had fun last night - I've seen him before and it's always an ejoyable show. Being a pianist myself I'm always rather envious of his obvious talent!

Bad news about your holiday though - I can see why you're so disappointed

tracey hope Bea and the family all enjoyed the day.

NY scary stuff about the job but no doubt something you'll look back on and see how it was all for the best and you'll be somewhere much better.

mm I wear knits with my black rats for day, Ash high tops or ankle boots on my feet, and a long silky tank and lots of jewellery for evening. I love leather leggings with oversized plaid shirts but it might be a bit too teenager-ish! Also, well done your dp for his excellent reply to his sis

Had a fab time in jersey. Was so lovely to be selfish and spend some real quality time with my friend without other friends or the DC in tow.

Was very wise and only bought this. Which you all already have

Have also bought some beautiful tan KG knee high boots for £50 on eBay. They look immaculate.

notyummy · 25/07/2010 21:53

First of all- gutted for you LTEC. So annoying when you have been looking forward to something. Would second getting away somewhere like Calcot or The Grove?

Well done all those hosting birthday parties. zembo, Dolcee and Tracey. Hope I haven't forgotten anyone! And yes, getting up at 430am to bake is bonkers.

mm - did make me laugh thinking of you having a few too many sherberts and turning the BBQ into something out of Abigails Party!!

mrsj welcome back.

Well, shorts and vest top for me yesterday and today. Boring but practical for tidying house before parents arrival, and playing in the paddling pool. Mum and Dad arrived for a few days yesterday. DH is away so much
this month that it's really nice to have some help. Although I don't have young parents (70 and 72 ), I am lucky in that they are in relatively good health and very keen to help. My mum is good for her age in some ways ; right weight for her height and ash blondish bobbed hair which us allgood for 72. Clothes I think age her a bit but having said that, mentally she is really young. She is a voracious reader and lives the cinema; they always get to see the cool films waaaay before us. Saw Inception 2 weeks ago on the opening night . Also finished all 5 series of the Wire before us and loved it. Mum is also a huge True Blood fan.

Returned the maxi I ordered, however have ordered another maxi, harems and clog/shoe things. Will link later as it is such a faff on the iPhone.

Enjoying Sherlock!

Oh cake so sorry about your holiday! I think JO should compensate by cooking gorgeous Italian food for your family for a week at least.

LetThemEatCake · 25/07/2010 22:30

sodding JO rarely makes anything that I can/ will eat anyway, ft fcker

on a positive note, went for 10 mile run this morning and didn't seem to weigh too much when I did my daily obsessive weigh-in.

fleecy glad you had a lovely time and love the jumpsuit!

ny looking forward to links!

am just filling out jury duty form, asking to be excused. Tis a glamorous way to spend a Sunday eve, to be sure.

V quick post, madly trying to get to bed as am shattered.

Cakey I just spotted your holiday news and am very sorry - think JO owes you BIG TIME!

These arrived on Friday, they are my first venture into the land of skinny trews thanks to you lovely lot and I have to say I like them!
However, being a skinnies virgin I am going to wear them around the house for a few times first until I feel comfortable and confident in them! Very soft-to-touch cotton, they look brown in the photo but are definitely khaki.

Also these arrived and are definitely staying. I luuuurve them.

I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend.

I'm off on my hols as of weds so I hope you all have a lovely couple of weeks.
I'm currently wrapping up my part-time business before I go, so should have some spare time to catch up on these threads when I get back!

10 miles LTEC - get you!!

After that you NEED some style cooking to fill the 1200 calorie hole you gave created. Or you body will eat the toned muscle that the shred has created.....all that work for nothing; noooo!

Ordered this maxi. these clog/boot things, and these hareems. Suspect the trousers will be going back tbh, but as I was paying for delivery on the others I thought it was worth a punt!
