Howdy!!!! Squirrel 3 and I have decided that as we are a bit nutty, we'd like to set up the Nutty Stepmum's Club or NSC. If anyone would like to join us, please add to this post and prove that we are not the only nutters out there!

We would like to add a little bit more nuttyness to our already insane lives!!!!

LooptheLoop · 19/12/2005 17:56

No heating at the moment - so going to drag DH Christmas shopping tonight just to get warm! And we can buy some cards, and then write them.... yes slightly behind but then we always are. Neither DH or I are the organised type!

tarantula · 20/12/2005 10:11

Hello all

MsT I finish tomorrow - lunchtime hopefully!!

LTL - no heating I couldn't cope with that, I'm always cold at the best of times!!

Squirrel bet you're busy with your dd and her new house, hope everything has gone to plan with the move

Squirrel3Kings · 20/12/2005 10:54

Hello, just a really short visit, Happy Christmas everybody!

DD's house is lovely, she says she feels like she has won the lottery!!!

Got to rush off again!

Happy Christmas, hope you all get lovely Christmas Pressies!

LooptheLoop · 20/12/2005 17:33

Hi everyone - hope you're all starting to wind down and done your pressie shopping. I'm with MrsT - I hate shopping at Christmas.

Heating should be back on tonight (i'm thinking about holding the plumber hostage until I know it works). But DH neglected to tell me the best bit. No water in the house for 2 days except in the kitchen sink which meant no toilets, no showers etc. Better be working tonight or we will be getting fragrant tomorrow!

NotActuallyAMotherChristmas · 21/12/2005 08:25

OMG loopy!! Hope you're sorted now, what a nightmare!!!

My last day at work today, we're hoping for a 1 o'clock finish, haven't quite got my laptop sorted yet (got it but haven't had time to do anything with it!!) so don't know if I'll be on over the break or not - I will try tho

Hope all of you and your families have a wonderful Christmas and all the very best for 2006 to you all too

Squirrel3Kings · 21/12/2005 09:11

Hello NAAMC, how are you? Sorry I haven't had time to chat. Have you got everything sorted for Christmas yet?

Loopy, I hope that you are warm now, what a nightmare!

NotActuallyAMotherChristmas · 21/12/2005 09:17

Hi Squirrel

Don't worry I know you've been busy with your dd. Yes I'm sorted thank you, just got a few presents and 2 cards to give out, we'll take them on Friday then I'm not answering the door or the phone on Christmas Eve - that's our day!! Had to give DP his number plate cos the paperwork went through in less than 2 weeks when it says it would take 4 - 5!! Bit fed up about it but he absolutely loved it which is good

Are you ready for it now? Bet your dd is still a bit upside down?

Squirrel3Kings · 21/12/2005 09:29

Yes NAAM, dd's house is still abit upside down but we are getting there. Its mostly just dd and I doing the sorting out as her dp is such a waste of space!

Monday dd and I had to move all of the furniture into place, put beds together and unpack as much as we could. As we were sorting all of this out I asked dd what her dp was doing, "playing on the playstation with dgs", she said!!! I was bloody annoyed I can tell you, I thought I am putting the bed that he is going to sleep in together and moving his furniture and he is playing on the bloody playstation !!!!!

Anyway I've got to run again (sorry) Got to go to Doc's, talk later hopefully, you finish at 1pm isnt it?

DP fitted the washing machine and cooker, put up pictures etc when he got home from work.

NotActuallyAMotherChristmas · 21/12/2005 09:41

That DP of your dd really does sound like a complete waste of space, what a shame....

Yes 1 o'clock for me Haven't got my laptop sorted yet, I've got it but haven't had time to do anything with it so don't know if I'll be on over the break or not, I will try but otherwise I'm back on Tuesday 3rd Jan

Don't worry if you can't come back today, I know you're busy Have yourself a wonderful time, and please have a go with the Thomas Aquadraw for me

NotActuallyAMum · 03/01/2006 14:43

Heeeeelllllllooooooooo all

Happy New Year to you and yours

Did everyone have a good one?

LooptheLoop · 03/01/2006 14:49

Happy New Year too!

Yes it was good - quietish with DH and boys and my parents but still had a very bad head the next day! Will I ever learn???

Hope you have all recovered.

NotActuallyAMum · 03/01/2006 15:48

LOL loopy

Will you ever learn? Probably not, but then again neither will any of us I had a very bad head on new years day too but it was worth it

Glad you had a good time

Squirrel3 · 05/01/2006 13:20

Hellllllllllloooooo!

Christmas has gone, the turkey has been eaten, we are all broke, unsuitable pressies been returned, kids are back at school and we are all back at work!

But never mind MN is here!!!!!!!

How was everyones Christmas? Who got the best pressies? Come on spill!!!

NotActuallyAMum · 05/01/2006 14:32

Heeeelllllllooooooo Squirrel

Been very sad for my brother - see "PLEASE can anyone help with this" in legal section, but yes back to normal now, got to do it sometime. I always tell myself I have to go back to work so that I can look forward to my next break

Our Christmas was good thank you, wasn't looking forward to dsd opening her presents as you know but I didn't feel as bad as I thought I would which is good. DP loved his number plate, he bought me (you're going to yawn big time) a framed football shirt signed by my favourite player - perfect present for me

We had 2 nights away on our own in Chester too which was nice. We'd never been before but had been told what a lovely place it was, which it is - very olde worlde and if you like shopping (not like me and thee ) you'd be in heaven!! Shops everywhere!! But we stuck to the pubs.....like you do

How was yours? What did you get? Is your dd OK in her new house? Did you have a go with the Aquadraw?

Ooohh all these questions

Squirrel3 · 05/01/2006 14:52

NAAM, the Aquadraw was a real hit! DGS said it was his best present, the second being a swing a bought him (couldn't resist giving him a pressie that he could play with in the garden now he has one)

My Christmas was ok thank you, dp and I were a bit ill over Christmas and new year so we didn't have a good drink or anything (still got loads of Christmas booze left over but I'm sure it won't last long)

Don't know if you ever saw this thread (just flip it so you don't have to read it all). I didn't have quite enough money to do it but dp gave me the rest of the money as a Christmas pressie!

DS bought us a bread maker and now I have got the hang of it I am making some lovely bread.

DD is settling in her nre home very well now thank you, apart from on Boxing day DGS fell down the stairs and bashed and cut his head! She hadn't had time to put the stair carpet down and as he is not really used to stairs (having been in a flat) he slipped and fell. I got a frantic phone call from her asking me to go round just as all of the step-kids arrived and were opening their pressies, so I had to rush off and make sure he didn't need to go to the hospital. Hre is fine he was more shocked than anything.

I have been following your thread in chat, I will be thinking of you when you have your chat with dp, I'm sorry I don't have any advice for you, just good wishes {hug}.

I am now off to look at your other thread about your brother, back soon.

Squirrel3 · 05/01/2006 14:53

P.S I was known as NannyNooNoo at the time of the past thread.

Squirrel3 · 05/01/2006 14:54

PSS you don't even have to flip it!

NotActuallyAMum · 05/01/2006 15:31

That's really sweet Squirrel Do you know when you can get them done?

Sorry you were ill - give me a shout if you need a hand getting rid of that booze Only kidding - my diet started on Tuesday. Haven't weighed myself, not going to either yet cos I know I'll only get upset if I do

Got to tell you this!! I showed DP your two "bugging you" links over Christmas and when we had dsd to stay he kept singing them to her After a while she was saying "Dad, you are bugging me, now don't" and I was literally ROFL!! It was so funny

Thanks for your message on the thread about my db and thanks for the hug

Squirrel3 · 05/01/2006 15:36

I've got to get rid of the remainder of this cold that I've got, then I'll make an appointment to see the dentist, then I'll be .
