Howdy!!!! Squirrel 3 and I have decided that as we are a bit nutty, we'd like to set up the Nutty Stepmum's Club or NSC. If anyone would like to join us, please add to this post and prove that we are not the only nutters out there!

We would like to add a little bit more nuttyness to our already insane lives!!!!

We have to keep coming on here to keep each other sane

You must keep in touch with us Stepmums - you can be an honorary one

Squirrel3Kings · 05/12/2005 16:23

Hello Ninah, love your Christmas name.

Only 20 days to go until you get to see your beautiful little girls face! (thats if she arrives on time)

FruitAndNutChristmasCake · 05/12/2005 16:34

You have really started something now Squirrel and NAAMC! Lol

Squirrel3Kings · 05/12/2005 16:40

awayninahmanger · 05/12/2005 16:43

mmmmmmmm .....
was going to be ninahbleakmidwinter but thought that was a bit depressing ...
I shall still be a REAL s-mum cos I'm hanging on to dss even if I'm ditching his dad! I was telling NAAMC on the other thread, he was really on my side over this weekend, keeping me company and a real source of support.
God is it really only 20 DAYS! speechless. I am usually late .... could do with a bit longer! then again ...

awayninahmanger · 05/12/2005 16:44

NotActuallyAMotherChristmas · 05/12/2005 16:56

FANCC - love the name

awayninahmanger - you're so brave Trust me, 2006 will be your year

Squirrel I knew they'd all follow eventually, just need to track down MsT now....

Squirrel3Kings · 05/12/2005 16:57

I wish my step kids felt like that about me Ninah.

Its lovely that dss will be able to continue the contact with you and his siblings, so many families like ours (step families)lose contact with each other .

Like I say, you are doing really well and I am so pleased that you are 'getting there'.

awayninahmanger · 05/12/2005 16:59

I think the contact will be FAIRLY one sided, you know what 15 year old boys are!

Squirrel3Kings · 05/12/2005 17:00

Yes, but they don't stay 15 do they.

awayninahmanger · 05/12/2005 17:02

true! well I look forward to seeing what the future holds for him, he's a nice lad (and would make a lovely dad, strangely enough! learning by opposites I guess)

tarantula · 06/12/2005 16:14

NotActuallyAMotherChristmas · 07/12/2005 16:47

Hello Squirrel

I've had a busy couple of days too, catch up soon. Bet you're busy with dd's house

Squirrel3Kings · 08/12/2005 08:35

Tarantula, are you in Wales?

On GMTV this morning a tarantula is running loose in a house in Llanelli, please be careful of a man called Wayne who is wielding a tennis racket ready to squish you!

tarantula · 08/12/2005 08:56

How horrible and cruel. thankfully Im safe(ish) in London. See how we are discriminated against everywhere, us lovely harmless creatures .

How is everyone today?

Squirrel3Kings · 08/12/2005 09:48

Hello NAAMC, the answer to the question 'how is everybody today?' is BUSY!

College this morning and dd's this afternoon to pack more stuff!

Squirrel3Kings · 09/12/2005 07:02

Hello, I'm up early so I thought I'd use the time to say howdy!

We had the S.kids Wednesday and dsd turned up with Christmas presents that she had bought out of her pocket money for all of us, including my kids and grandkids. I was very surprised , and touched. She and my dgs do get on, infact he adores her, calls her his darling, and she makes Lea laugh.

As for dss, ggggrrr, I am sick of cleaning up gross bodily fluids!!! Why does he always pee on the toilet seat? He is 14 not 4! (mind you even dgs doesn't pee on the seat anymore and he is 4!). I'm always moaning to dp about it but he doesn?t say anything to him about it, so this time I made dp come home from work and clean the toilet, he is going to have a word with dss tonight!!!! (Mind you I don't know what good it will do, dss has only changed his bed once since I put my foot down about the 'dreams' mess, and he is supposed to change it every week).

I just think at 14 I shouldn't have to be cleaning up his pee! Do you know what the worst thing about it is? If you don't notice and just sit down...eeeeeeewwwweee!!! [grossed out emoticon].

End of moan!

Dsd and I put up the Christmas tree Wednesday evening, I thought that I would have to re-do it Thursday but it looked pretty good and I was chuffed that I didn't have to do it again, until yesterday evening when the lights went, got to get new lights which means I have to take everything off and start again anyway. Maybe I'll get dsd to help again.

Is everyone set for Christmas yet? Dp's parents are off to America on Sunday, least I don't have to put up with the in-laws over Christmas . Dp and I were visiting them the other day and a couple of their friends were there and the woman was telling MIL about how worried she was about her son because of his choice of woman, she was worried that she was going to make his life miserable etc, and you know what her reply to her was?

"Well all you can do is look at them, keep your fingers crossed and hope that they will be ok, not looking at anyone in particular", whilst looking at my dp and nodding her head. I was sitting right next to him!!!!

Her friend didn't know what to say and quickly changed the subject, when Mil went out of the room the friend turned to me and said "Don't take any notice of her, she says things she doesn't mean, I can tell that you make him happy and you look after him" and she gave me a hug.

I just laughed and told her that not to worry I'm used to her, I know she doesn't say thing to be malicious and it?s a good job I've got a sense of humor.

Cor! What a mammoth effort!!! Got to go, I?m going to watch dgs?s nativity play today, I?m such a soppy cow I?ll probably cry all of the way through it.

NotActuallyAMotherChristmas · 09/12/2005 08:39

Hello Squirrel

I'd definitely stand your ground with dss and make DP clean up after him if he won't do it himself. I wonder if he's the same at home?? Probably wouldn't dare!!!

That's nice of your dsd to buy the presents, bless her. Shows that she can be thoughtful when she wants to be

As for Christmas, I did actually make a start last night and wrapped the presents up. Was really chuffed - DP helped me - then decided to come with another 3 presents which we still have to get!! (Translate: which I have to get!) I could have slapped him, there was me thinking it was all done now I have to get something for the neighbour's son (little brat! don't know why I'm bothering it'll only get broken!) and something for his Mum and Dad from his dd (fair enough I suppose but I wish he'd have told me earlier) Don't know when I'll put my decs up, I really don't know what's wrong with me this year - normally I'm one of these serious Christmas freaks who put loads of lights outside and I fill the inside of the house with lots and lots of stuff but I just can't be bothered with it this year and I don't know why. Might try to get it sorted over the weekend

Your mil sounds like a right battleaxe!! Glad you can let it go over your head, but I guess you've had to learn!

I love school plays - used to go to my sisters kids ones. Seems a long time ago now - they're 16, 15 and 12, how time flies!!!!

Squirrel3Kings · 09/12/2005 12:40

Hello, I am in the process of un-decorating the tree and putting the new lights on then re-decorating it, I thought that dsd might be a bit peeved if we had to do it again and as she did it willingly last time I don't want to push it so I'll do it myself.

NotActuallyAMotherChristmas · 09/12/2005 13:35

Think you're right there Squirrel

Must get my decs out of the loft......

Squirrel3Kings · 09/12/2005 13:49

Put your tree up it will make you feel more Christmasy!

Finished mine now, do you like it?
