Nutty Stepmum's Club (NSC) - Who Wants To Join Us?

Howdy!!!! Squirrel 3 and I have decided that as we are a bit nutty, we'd like to set up the Nutty Stepmum's Club or NSC. If anyone would like to join us, please add to this post and prove that we are not the only nutters out there!

We would like to add a little bit more nuttyness to our already insane lives!!!!

Yule is the pagan winter festival generally held on the chaortest day of the year 21st Dec. We generally celebrate it te weekend before christmas with dss as we dont have him for Christmas. we are going to get in a log thsi year and decorate it and have it burning all day and do all the usual Christmas stuff too.

Did someone mention alcohol

You'll have a log burning all day???? Not the same log surely - if so you'd need a whole tree

How do you decorate a log?

This is the only type of decorated log that I associate with Christmas.

It'll be a big log in a small grate so I reckon it should burn most of the day. Way back when they used to keep the yule log burning for 12 days of feasting and fun (which is where we get the 12 days of chritmas from) but then they had bigger fireplaces adn did bring in most of a tree

we are jsut going to put holly and Ivy on it and stuff like that. mmmm like that yule log Squirrel. thats what the log developed into once people stopped have open fires.

We have got a fire pit, I could get dsd to decorate a log and we could light it on the 21st, she might enjoy it, dp would too, he's a bit of a pyromaniac!

Don't know what it is about men and lighting fires but my DP is the same too

so am I and dp is a bit too but Im worse.

I normally have a bit of a celebration on the 21st but wil be flying home that day so Ill just have to have an Irish celebration* rather than anything special

Its ok, I think he was more concerned about being boxed in because they moved it so close to the car in front, then set up there equipiment brhind it, but he just impressed me with some pretty niffty (sp?) driving and managed to get out.

I however, am blocked in my house, they have put up barriers across my front gate so no-one can get in and no-one can leave!!!!!!

Squirrel my answer would be "OK next time I'll let it get filthy like it did yesterday"

Phoned DP at lunchtime, he said the carpet looks lovely - I want to go home NOW!!
