Howdy!!!! Squirrel 3 and I have decided that as we are a bit nutty, we'd like to set up the Nutty Stepmum's Club or NSC. If anyone would like to join us, please add to this post and prove that we are not the only nutters out there!

We would like to add a little bit more nuttyness to our already insane lives!!!!

Wonder where tarantula is? Thought she'd appear when you got the alcohol out

Can't stop yawning now - I'm always like this when I get back from lunch, I'll be OK in about half an hour, if I don't fall asleep that is!

Squirrel3 · 04/11/2005 14:47

She was about this morning apparently, but she must be working hard this afternoon, or the lucky thing has got the afternoon off!

Doormat is in hospital at the moment, so we'll send loads of get well wishes to her.

Get well soon Doormat, thinking of you {{{hugs}}}

NotActuallyAMum · 04/11/2005 14:53

Yes I saw a thread earlier for doormat so I posted her a get well soon message on it, bless her, hope she's OK

I like Friday afternoons cos I finish at half 4 I know it's only half an hour earlier but it's surprising what a difference it makes

Squirrel3 · 04/11/2005 14:59

I think I might get a bit 'merry' this evening to celebrate passing the exam, I was a bit nervous about it actually.

I was amazed at the 96% mark!

NotActuallyAMum · 04/11/2005 15:15

Yes, just proves that coming on MN improves your intelligence 96% is a fantastic result, no wonder you're pleased - you definitely deserve a few drinks this evening

I phoned DP at lunch, he's going to do dinner for when I get home then we're having a few drinks before getting ready to go out

btw forgot to say thank you for cheering me up yesterday

Squirrel3 · 04/11/2005 15:18

's ok, thats what we are here for!

DP will prob cook something nice for ours too, then we'll prob have one or seven glasses of red wine.

NotActuallyAMum · 04/11/2005 15:24

Sounds good

Actually no it doesn't sound good to me cos I don't like red wine but you obviously do so I'm sure you'll enjoy it I got absolutely plastered on wine when I was 15 and I've never been able to touch the stuff since. I was with my sister and stayed the night at her house so I got away with it cos Mum and Dad didn't find out DP got really drunk on pernod and blackcurrant once and he doesn't touch that anymore so whenever I buy that I get it all to myself

What's your favourite drink?

FruitAndNutcase · 04/11/2005 15:34

Im fine thank you NAAM how are you (sorry delayed reaction!) lol - Squirrel, very many congrats on passing your exam, I knew you'd do it x

NotActuallyAMum · 04/11/2005 15:38

I'm fine too thank you FANC, glad you're OK

Feeling very thirsty with all this talk about booze But my wonderful DP will be waiting when I get home with dinner and a drink for me - bless him

Squirrel3 · 04/11/2005 15:41

FANC, glad you are well, you have got to find some time so that we can have a really good 'catch-up', we haven't had a 'proper' chat for ages, we miss you!

Squirrel3 · 04/11/2005 15:45

NAAM I quite like pernod and blackcurrant too, I wonder if Tarantula does too!

NotActuallyAMum · 04/11/2005 15:56

Mmmmmmm, cider pernod and blackcurrant - sounds gorgeous! Could just drink some of that...think that'll be one for me to try over Christmas

DPs Mum invited us for Christmas dinner the other day, and we go to my Mum and Dads for tea so I get away with cooking There is a downside tho cos it means DP and I won't have any time to ourselves cos dsd will be ringing first thing - 6am last year!! - for DP to fetch her to open her presents, then it'll be straight to his parents then from there to mine. He has dsd all day on boxing day and Christmas is all over after that!! Oh well, suppose that's life as a stepmum. Have to try and make the most of Christmas Eve - at least I won't have any preparing for dinner to do!!

Squirrel3 · 04/11/2005 16:06

Christmas day it will only be dp and I so we thought we might book somewhere christmas dinner, his family will all be in America, we will have the step-kids boxing day this year, dd wants christmas day just her and her kids (I supose the waste of space partner will be there too, grrrr), ds is having christmas dinner at his girlfriends, but...

Boxing day is going to be a mad-house, all of the kids, that is 4 stepkids, my 2 kids and 2 grandkids, plus my brother and sister-in-law and their 2 kids will all be coming to my house for the day!!!! and anybody else that decides to turn up!!!

Squirrel3 · 04/11/2005 16:08

NotActuallyAMum · 09/11/2005 13:15

Hello folks

Yes been very quiet this week, wonder where Squirrel is? Hope she's OK

I'm fine thank you - how are you all?

FruitAndNutcase · 09/11/2005 13:28

Hello Tarantula, how are you! Im not too bad thanks NAAM, how are you?

NotActuallyAMum · 09/11/2005 13:38

Looking forward to Christmas everyone??? Only 6 weeks

FruitAndNutcase · 09/11/2005 13:46

dont remind me NAAM! Im dreading Christmas, used to love it but hate it now!

NotActuallyAMum · 09/11/2005 13:50

I know what you mean FANC, I used to love it too but it's very different as a stepmum isn't it? I get a week and a half off work tho so it's not all bad

Are you still trying for a baby in the New Year?

FruitAndNutcase · 09/11/2005 14:41

Christmas is a nightmare for me, cos I either have to spend from Boxing Day to New Year with the stepkids and not see my own family (as his kids live over 200 miles away and my family live 200 miles away in the opposite direction) or go to see my family on my own and not see DP so it is very hard. Unfortunately and I guess understandably, as they are kids, there is no option, they have to spend Christmas with their Daddy. Personally, I would love to just go away for Christmas with DP somewhere nice and hot but that is just not an option in this relationship! The time of work however is nice albeit we dont get any time to ourselves which is a bit annoying.

I am hoping we are still going to try for a baby, although at the moment (after yet another row with DP last night) if Im absolutely honest Im not sure that I really want one at the moment.
