Howdy!!!! Squirrel 3 and I have decided that as we are a bit nutty, we'd like to set up the Nutty Stepmum's Club or NSC. If anyone would like to join us, please add to this post and prove that we are not the only nutters out there!

We would like to add a little bit more nuttyness to our already insane lives!!!!

P.S. I wash dss's bedding quite often because when dgs stays he sleeps in that bed and occasionaly I sleep in there because dp snores loudly sometimes due to a medical problem.

Don't think I will anymore though , dp can sleep there and I can have the kingsize all to myself.

NotActuallyAMum · 03/11/2005 12:46

That sounds fair to me

DP and I have a super king size bed - it's huge! Six feet square I think it is, bit of a pig when it comes to ironing the bed covers tho!!

Squirrel3 · 03/11/2005 12:57

Ironing bedcovers?!?!

Your mad!!!

NotActuallyAMum · 03/11/2005 13:10

I know - lots of people say they don't bother but I think it makes them smell lovely, specially as I use Comfort Vaporesse (sp?) in my steam iron

How are things with your dd?

Squirrel3 · 03/11/2005 13:23

Ok, we are still fighting the local council for a house for her.

Don't know if you know, she is in a 3rd floor flat with no lift and she is housebound unless someone is there to help her and grandkids down the stairs. The council are being sooooo difficult, dp being a builder has got the contract from council to do up the empty houses and get them ready for new tenants. He has had the keys to do up so many houses that would be perfect for dd, but when we phone up about them they make an excuse as to why she cant have them.

The most infuriating one is they will tell dd that she cannot be considered for that particular house because it is a pallour house (a room with a dinning room downstairs that can be used as a fourth bedroom for a larger family). We know that at least two of these so called pallour houses are not because dp has had the keys and done the places up! I have been in one of them and a fourth bedroom just doesn't exist, downstairs there was a kitchen, a lounge, upstairs three bedrooms, a bathroom and that was it. Unless they consider the shed at the bottom of in the garden to be an extra bedroom or dinning room that is!

Crikey, I am being so moany lately!

NotActuallyAMum · 03/11/2005 13:34

You've every right to be moaney chuck - and lots of good reasons too. That's why this site is so much of a godsend

I'm feeling a bit moaney today too, I've realised that in just over 2 weeks it'll be a year since I moved in with my DP. Don't get me wrong we're very happy together - as I think you realise - but I still hate living in that house. In that respect I really regret moving in with him, wish I'd have insisted he sell the house and we buy one which is ours. I know the house is ours legally now but in my heart it never will be

And - not that I'm a money orientated person - but I've put £50,000 into a house that I didn't really want to buy in the first place and deep down I know will never feel like home. Having said that I have bad days and good days, I'll probably feel OK about it tomorrow [hopeful emoticon]

Squirrel3 · 03/11/2005 13:41

Can't you talk to dp about it?

He sounds the type who might listen and take your feelings into consideration, he may agree to you looking for a new home together in the new year.

Fingers crossed for you. I don't think I'd like to be in your situation, I can understand how you feel.

NotActuallyAMum · 03/11/2005 13:59

Unfortunately in a moment of madness on my part I agreed to wait until the house has been officially ours for 12 months and he has agreed that if I'm still unhappy then (next August!!!) he will move. You seem to have my DP summed up quite well but when it comes to this subject whenever I mention it he quickly changes the subject which really annoys me! I think he genuinely doesn't understand why I can't just live there and think nothing of it, and I'm convinced he thinks that it'll get better for me in time but I don't think it will. A few weeks ago I actually said to him "I hate living here"

Some days tho I think I can't live my life in the past - if I did I'd probably be one seriously bitter and twisted woman - and it's the future that counts and my future with DP will be a very happy one cos he's wonderful. And in all honesty we can't afford to move anyway but some days it really does get to me

Squirrel3 · 03/11/2005 14:08

August isn't that far away, it will fly by!

NotActuallyAMum · 03/11/2005 14:35

Yes that's true

I fancy a drink - I love Ouzo, the aniseed stuff that you get when you're on holiday in Greece - can you find me some

Squirrel3 · 03/11/2005 14:42

Here NAAM

Squirrel3 · 03/11/2005 14:44

Think I'll have a glass ot two of this

NotActuallyAMum · 03/11/2005 14:56

PMSL

I don't believe this!! I really thought that one would be a challenge for you and you've found it straight away

Going to make this my mission now - think of something that Squirrel can't find a picture of in less than 10 minutes

Squirrel3 · 03/11/2005 14:58

Would have been quicker but I was posting on my other thread.

I've got to go and clean the bathroom now, but I'll be back!

NotActuallyAMum · 03/11/2005 15:21
NotActuallyAMum · 03/11/2005 15:38

When I was a kid I used to love Dundee biscuits - bet you can't find those cos I'm 99% certain you can't get them any more

Squirrel3 · 03/11/2005 15:43

Dont think too hard NAAM.

OK then, you've had long enough to think about it, bring it on!

Squirrel3 · 03/11/2005 15:45

Sorry NAAM, I've just got back from cleaning bathroom and posted without refreshing.

here is your biccis

Squirrel3 · 03/11/2005 15:48

Or should that be here are your bicci's.

I'll be cringing all week like Tarantula now!

Squirrel3 · 03/11/2005 15:50

That was too easy, try something else NAAM

NotActuallyAMum · 03/11/2005 15:51

OK well I'll let you off cos they ARE Dundee biscuits but they're not the ones I used to eat - my ones were HUGE and they had chocolate on one side. Actually they probably weren't all that big - everything seems bigger when you're a kid doesn't it?

Have to think of something else...love your pic of the brain cogs

Squirrel3 · 03/11/2005 16:01

Here I am all poised ready to find you a pic!

NotActuallyAMum · 03/11/2005 16:06

Hmmmmm, where's tarantula and FANC when you need them???? Bet they'd come up with something

I KNOW!!

One of my favourite TV programms when I was a kid - Barbapapa

Squirrel3 · 03/11/2005 16:12

I'm sure that this isn't the barbapapa you were talking about, but it is barbapapa!

NotActuallyAMum · 03/11/2005 16:17

THAT'S THE ONE!!!!

They're pear-shaped things, I used to love that program

And I used to love the Banana Splits too - DP has just bought me a t-shirt with Bingo on it.......
