Howdy!!!! Squirrel 3 and I have decided that as we are a bit nutty, we'd like to set up the Nutty Stepmum's Club or NSC. If anyone would like to join us, please add to this post and prove that we are not the only nutters out there!

We would like to add a little bit more nuttyness to our already insane lives!!!!

Lol NAAM, where dp and I go trout fishing there is a resident goose and it ignored everyone else but the blooming thing used to terrorise me, it could see me coming to the other side of the lake and swim as fast as it could and it would jump out where I was and 'shout, swear and flap its wings and chase me. DP had to 'rescue' me often, until one day it had me cornered, dp was the otherside of the lake and this thing was there in front of me, chest out, wings flapping, making an awful din!!!!

So I grabbed the bottom corners of the front of my jacket and held them out like wings and started flapping them, threw my chest out, and shouted "get out of it, shoo, shoo!" and started to chase it flapping my 'wings', dp was p-ing himself laughing... but the goose never bothered me again!!!!!!

NotActuallyAMum · 14/10/2005 15:33

lol Squirrel, at least it did the trick

Seriously I think I'd have been quite scared if that happened to me!!

Hope you enjoy your weekend - make them all pamper you, and really hope you get better soon

Squirrel3 · 14/10/2005 15:38

tarantula · 17/10/2005 09:47

Greetings all. Youre on here early squirrel. Lokos like everyone had a great laugh on Friday. Ill come over adn have a go on the space hopper please they are great.

Had a lovely weekend too. My parents got here on Friday afternoon and we went to the local park with dd so Mammy could have heartfailure at the way dd climbs up everything and runs round . How she managed to survive having 6 of us Ill never know cos none of us were nice quiet girls either. On the Saturday we went on a trip round a vineyard which was lovely and yesterday we went to the pub for lunch

Hope everyone else had a great weekend too.

tarantula · 17/10/2005 09:52

How are you feeling today Squirrel? Are you any better now?

Squirrel3 · 17/10/2005 10:04

Hello you two

Glad you enjoyed your weekend with your Mum and Dad Tarantula (grandmothers are allowed to worry).

Still got the chest infection, anti-biotics run out today, seeing the Dr again tommorrow.

Our weekend was ok though, apart from a few troubles with out transport, dp's truck keeps overheating so he asked BM if she could possibly bring the kids over to us, well she irrupted like a volcanoe and started to spout venom, hot lava, flames and possibly poisonous, toxic fumes!!!

Then started to insist that "If you want to see your children sell your boat and get a new car!"

NotActuallyAMum · 17/10/2005 10:10

So I take it that was a "no" then Squirrel

BMs eh?? Bloody good job we can laugh about them on here or we'd go flaming loopy!!!

Hope the doctor sorts you out, you really ought to be getting better by now - poor you

Squirrel3 · 17/10/2005 10:32

AAAAAAAAARRRRGH!

I lost mumsnet for a while then, just kept on getting and error message!!!!!!

Thought the BM's had all got together and done the unthinkable

reflection · 17/10/2005 11:00

Hi everyone. I'm here. Just really pushed for time but determined to pop in. So glad you all had a good weekend. Squirrel I really hope you start to improve soon. Lots more rest....

My weekend was ok. Dh cooked a lovely roast lamb yesterday so can't ask for more than that!! SD over, she seemed well dispite her Step Dad's accident....all a bit of upheaval.

Have a good feeling about this week, have a little spark of enthusiasm....so we shall have to wait and see. Who knows maybe something exciting might happen?? Or maybe it just because its nearly half term

Squirrel3 · 17/10/2005 11:08

Reflection, I am so glad to hear it

I'll get better soon, just need another course of anti-biotics.

MMMMmmmm, I love roast lamb BTW

NotActuallyAMum · 17/10/2005 11:24

Squirrel I lost MN for a while too I thought work had blocked it!!!

Have to say tho it made me realised I'm spending more time than I should on here - I looked through the job sheets which I'm supposed to do and I'm a month and 2 days behind!! Oops!!!

Squirrel3 · 17/10/2005 11:32

Don't tell me, you joined one month and two days ago didn't you?!

OOOooops!!!!

Squirrel3 · 17/10/2005 11:41

Seems like you have always been part of the Nutty Club NAAM.

NotActuallyAMum · 17/10/2005 12:40

I certainly feel like I've been a stepmum for much, much longer than I have!!!

Squirrel3 · 17/10/2005 13:44

I know the feeling well!

Changing the subject...

My dp has just turned up (without warning) with several of his builder mates for lunch.

I wouldn't normally mind but I am ill, the house looks like a pig sty and I look like the pig that lives in it (still in dressing gown, haven't even dragged a brush through my hair!)

I mumbled something about being ill and having to go and have a shower, made my excuses and went to have one. When I came down they had eaten everything they could lay their hands on except what was my lunch (a nice bit of Salmon)...

DP had given it to the cat!!!!

NotActuallyAMum · 17/10/2005 16:53

I would be absolutely if my DP did that to me!!

I agree with you - it wouldn't bother me normally but not when you're ill - shame on him!

NotActuallyAMum · 18/10/2005 08:41

Anyone want to talk about space hoppers?????

FruitAndNutcase · 18/10/2005 09:50

Morning all, just got a quick 5 minutes to talk in between work how are you all? I would love to talk about space hoppers NAAM x

Squirrel3 · 18/10/2005 09:53

Hello NAAM & FANC,

NAAM did you get the space hoppers then?

NotActuallyAMum · 18/10/2005 11:18

Yes they came yesterday so last night there was me, DP, dsd, my sister and her 3 kids racing down the cul-de-sac on them

I've never laughed so much for years - it really was so much fun, and good exercise too! My legs ache this morning tho but it was worth it

How is everyone today? Have you been to the doctor yet squirrel or is it later?

Squirrel3 · 18/10/2005 11:31

Sounds like such good fun, keep it up and you'll lose loads of wieght with all that excercise (maybe I should get one)

The Dr's was this morning, more anti-biotics and I should be fine, feel a bit tired, no let me re-phrase that, I'm knackered! Got no energy what-so-ever. Got DSS1 staying tonight so I've got to clean his room after having DSS2 staying in there last weekend.

NotActuallyAMum · 18/10/2005 11:47

Can't DP clean the room? Dare I say this - they are his children after all...

Hope these tablets work for you. Chest infections are awful, it's about 8 years since I had mine but I remember it only too well. I was off work for 3 weeks and when I coughed it was like someone had got hold of my throat - I just couldn't breathe at all. And I remember having no energy too - poor you
