Howdy!!!! Squirrel 3 and I have decided that as we are a bit nutty, we'd like to set up the Nutty Stepmum's Club or NSC. If anyone would like to join us, please add to this post and prove that we are not the only nutters out there!

We would like to add a little bit more nuttyness to our already insane lives!!!!

Hello Tarantula, I was sure you had come down with the dreaded 'lurgy' too!

Glad you are ok!

NotActuallyAMum · 12/10/2005 14:44

Good idea about the brandy tarantula

My mum swears by port and brandy when she's ill, it always works for her. I've never tried it tho, the smell of the stuff is enough to put me off!

Just started my shopping list, I asked DP last night what I should get in for dsd for dinner for the week - his answer? "Err, I dunno"

Men!!!

Squirrel3 · 12/10/2005 14:54

Just found this brand of Brandy!!!

Don't think I'll try it, if I were to drink brandy I'd want to get a bit 'tiddly' not stay sober!!!!

Squirrel3 · 12/10/2005 14:56

This is more like it! lol

tarantula · 12/10/2005 15:05

lol love that brand Squirrel Men are so helpful like that arent they NAAM I do this with dp every week or so when writing the shopping list. Hes a great cook and brilliant round the house but just cant plan a weekly shop or think ahead at all. tho I think Im starting to get through to him as I rang him a few minutes ago and he wants to go food shopping AND has started to write a LIST AND a MENU for the week. Am so ed but very

Squirrel3 · 12/10/2005 15:11

Tarantula, your dp sounds lovely, my dp did the food shopping Monday because I' ill, we've got the kids this evening and I haven't got a clue what he is going to feed them or what we are going to eat for the rest of the week!!!!

Well, he did try.

Squirrel3 · 12/10/2005 15:13

Having said that, he is a brilliant cook, and he enjoys it!

Squirrel3 · 12/10/2005 15:18

Changing the subject a bit...

Why does my doorbell keep going and there is no-one there?

...and my phone keeps ringing and there's no-one there, tried 1471 and the person is withholding their number...

I'm getting a bit spooked!!!

tarantula · 12/10/2005 15:35

OMG you are being haunted. By the ghosts of all BMs that have 'gone over'. Get teh big PANTS out quick and hide in them.

Squirrel3 · 12/10/2005 15:38

PMSL!!!

Where's my big pants?

NotActuallyAMum · 12/10/2005 15:43

lol at "ghosts of BM"

We've bought a service from BT so that no-one can ring our house and withhold their number. Think it costs about £5 a quarter. If anyone tries to withhold their number they just get a message saying something like "the number you've called doesn't accept anonymous calls, please try again but do not withhold your number". We've got caller display so if anyone rings who we don't want to speak to we just don't answer it

This won't stop people knocking on your door tho....

tarantula · 12/10/2005 15:52

Dps not been lovely to me at all this week Squirrel so this may be his attempt to make things up. Hes been on a real windup all week as my parents are over at the weekend and hes not looking forward to it at all.

He driving me dolally.

Squirrel3 · 12/10/2005 15:57

NAAM, I used to have that (had a really bad experience with a mad stalker type that kept phoning me every 2 hrs, 24 hrs a day for months!), that was before dp moved in and 'took over' paying the phone bill!

He said I didn't need it now, he would answer the phone if he started up again, don't think he realised how terrifying it was!

Don't think its 'the mad stalker' but it is a bit spooky!

Got me Big Pink Pants on (worn over jeans to enhance biggness!) feel really brave now!!!

Squirrel3 · 12/10/2005 16:01

Tarantula, Now I know how dp feels when I moan about his parents they are ok really, but its not fair that I have to put up with in-laws, he doesn't have to put up with my parents as (thankfully) they are now nothing but a distant memory!

Sorry that sounded awful didn't it!

Squirrel3 · 12/10/2005 16:04

P.s. Hope he continues to 'make it up' to you, he'd better be extremly lovely to you this week or he'll have me to answer to (see told you I've got me big pants on, I'm so brave!!)

tarantula · 12/10/2005 16:10

lol I wish he would moan about my parents then I could counter with moans about his dad but he doesnt. He just goes into long and complicated rants about sweet FA and ends up contradicting himself halfway through and then blames it all on the fact that he gets no *'intellectual stimulation' as hes at home with dd all day. PMSL at that one.

  • Translation of intellectual stimulation--Doesnt get to go to the pub on the way home.
tarantula · 12/10/2005 16:11

lol Ill tell him that Squirrel bet hell be shaking in his boots. Hed bloody better be nice this weekend. Its not like they come over often either.

tarantula · 12/10/2005 16:14

Tell you what if the mad atalker does turn up Ill send dp down and he can argue him into submission with one of the rants Ive put up with this week. the one on dried fruit not being naturally dried if its dried in oven should do nicely I think.

Squirrel3 · 12/10/2005 16:18

Lol, sounds like a good idea to me!

Squirrel3 · 12/10/2005 16:50

Its been lovely talking to you Tarantula, don't work so hard, its eating into your time on here!!!

Don't know how I am going to cope when I'm working full-time, I won't be able to come on here as much!!!!!!!!!

Oh No!! The horror!!!!

Maybe I'll just find a better paid part-time job, sounds better doesn't it?

Squirrel3 · 12/10/2005 16:52

Got to go and pick up S.Kids, yeah, yeah, yeah I know I'm ill and I shouldn't go out but I'm sick of these four walls, I'm going stir crazy!!!

reflection · 13/10/2005 08:42

Oh!! I so wish I could be here more often but work is just a little crazy right now and as I did not win the lottery I am back here this morning......

Shopping...I haven't been shopping for clothes for so long that I don't really remember whether I like it or not. If everything fitted then maybe I would...but when does that ever happen.

Squirrel if I do ever win the lottery then I will of course drag your sick self out on the shop and if we really don't like it then we can always do sitting and eating and drinking and talking and having massages and facials and lot and lots of lovely stuff x

However, no lottery win just yet. Squirrel I would get the phone block as those calls can be very frustrating.

Got to go will get back later..

Squirrel3 · 13/10/2005 11:44

Oh Reflection the drinking, eating, massage and facials sounds wonderful, if I just close my eyes I can imagine that I'm there, bliss.

NotActuallyAMum · 14/10/2005 09:16

Morning all

I've just bought a pack of 5 adult space hoppers off ebay! Can't wait to have a race down the street on them!! Don't think DP will join me tho, I'll have to recruit dsd and some of my nieces and nephews!!!

How is everyone today?

Squirrel3 · 14/10/2005 09:22

Sounds lke fun!
