Howdy!!!! Squirrel 3 and I have decided that as we are a bit nutty, we'd like to set up the Nutty Stepmum's Club or NSC. If anyone would like to join us, please add to this post and prove that we are not the only nutters out there!

We would like to add a little bit more nuttyness to our already insane lives!!!!

Squirrel, I had a chest infection years ago so I know how nasty they are - poor you

At least you can have as many virtual drinks as you like

It's virtual only for me too, I'm trying to lose some weight (again!)

Squirrel3 · 11/10/2005 15:47

NAAM, been laying on the sofa, watching crappy day time TV, the computer was calling me, so here I am. Not for very long though, can't believe how much my chest hurts, the Dr said the right lung is worse than the left, but the pain is on the left side, its probably made worse because I'm asthmatic and I'm having trouble breathing. God I'm such a moaner, sorry...

How are you?

I wonder if FANC took our advice and stayed at home today?

And where's Tarantula, I hope that she isn't ill too!

Squirrel3 · 11/10/2005 15:50

Maybe one of these will help!

NotActuallyAMum · 11/10/2005 16:18

Ooohh that looks nice....

Make sure DP looks after you - tell him if he doesn't he'll have us to answer to

Bet FANC is at home with her feet up...not! Tarantula hasn't been on for a while has she? Hope she's OK

I'm OK thank you, got dsd coming tomorrow for a week

Squirrel3 · 11/10/2005 16:32

Dp is looking after me, he keeps 'popping' in to make sure I'm ok, we are quite lucky he works locally so he can do it, I've had these type of chest infections and landed up in hospital hooked up to all kinds of 'machinary', but at the time I was a single parent and I had to take care of two kids so I couldn't really put my feet up and just look after myself which probably made it worse.

This time I've got DP to look after me and my kids if they need anything. He is being so nice lately, back to what he was when we first met.

You've got dsd for a week, is her school close by you? Remind me again how old is she? (memory like a...a...a, what was I talking about?

NotActuallyAMum · 11/10/2005 16:42

lol at your bad memory - mine is just as bad! Short term bad anyway, ask me about something which happened 2 years ago and I'm straight there but ask me what happened yesterday and I've got no chance!!

Glad he's looking after you, and nice to hear you're getting back to how you were

dsd is 12, her school is only about 10 minutes away but I start work at 8 and dp is on nights from Friday so next week I'm taking her to my brothers house (bless him for helping us out) then my 2 nieces/nephew/dsd will all walk to school together. They all get on well anyway which is good

Still at DP tho

Squirrel3 · 11/10/2005 16:52

Its really good that they all get on well, am I geting this right? they all go to the same school, that's really handy!

My S.Kids live in another town and when we have them a school night DP has to drive 3/4hr to take them, then 3/4hr to get back to work!

We don't mind too much though, its nice to see them during the week.

Sorry, got to go, the sofa is calling me back!!!

NotActuallyAMum · 11/10/2005 17:01

You go and relax chuck hope you're feeling better soon

Yes - at the school there's dsd, my sisters 2 boys (her daughter left this year) and my eldest brothers 2 daughters and eldest son! So 6 of them altogether. Actually I've never counted up how many there are at the same school - that's surprised me too

My eldest niece (sister's daughter) is at College and my other 4 nieces and nephews are still at Primary School

reflection · 11/10/2005 17:24

Squirrel so sorry to hear your so ill. Lots of good vibes to you...

NAAM sounds like you have a supportive family with your SD. That's cool.

I have had a crazy but productive day but my mind is swimming...why is it that when life is at its most stressful your mind insists on making sure you don't sleep?? Walking zomby.

I will leave well alone where ex is concerned. Just makes you glad for what you do have..hope SD ok. She's very quiet and doesn't really say much..

Squirrel3 · 12/10/2005 08:49

Hello Reflection,

It 'warms my heart' when I see your name pop up on the screen now!!!

Hope your Sd is ok.

Squirrel3 · 12/10/2005 11:17

~sigh~ Where is everybody?

NotActuallyAMum · 12/10/2005 11:23

I'm here!!

How are you feeling today? Any better?

Hope he's still looking after you

reflection · 12/10/2005 12:29

Squirrel and NAAM hello. Now approaching the right side of the week, Yipee..

Squirrel I hope your resting up and getting better. Still loving the BIG Pants...remember those days..?

I dream't last night that I went shopping for lots of clothes and I trie them all on and they all fitted!!! What do you reckon that means??? Do dreams really come true??? I do hope so....Lottery here I come

Squirrel3 · 12/10/2005 12:39

Hello, feeling horrible, chest hurts sooooo much, high temp, and I can't stop coughing!

DP just phoned my mobile whilst I was in the middle of a coughing fit, I saw it was him and answered (still coughing), "Stop coughing while your on the phone, its so bloody rude!" was his reaction!!!!!

I must add that the reason I was coughing so badly at that time was because I was cleaning my step-childrens bedrooms as we have them tonight!

While we're on the subject, why should I have to be the one that always cleans their bedrooms? They are old enought to do it themselves, my son does his own room, DGS (4) even tidys the bedroom when he stays (I might 'finish off', but they do most of it) My step-children have to do their own bedrooms at home, why not here? They 'live' here 40% of the time, surely they should tidy their room here?

Sorry, end of rant!!!

Need my big pants!!!!

Squirrel3 · 12/10/2005 12:41

Reflection, (regards to the shopping spree) if you win the lottery this week can I come shopping with you?

NotActuallyAMum · 12/10/2005 13:00

Quite agree about the bedrooms Squirrel - don't think you should be doing anything right now anyway, you're ill and that should let you off the hook with absolutely everything

Reflection - where can I find shops where everything fits?? I'm about 3 different sizes depending on where I shop (and what I'm prepared to squeeze myself into just to say I bought a smaller size , hence MAJOR diet at the mo! Have to say I hate shopping, got to go food shopping after work today too - not good!!

Squirrel3 · 12/10/2005 13:10

I hate shopping too!!!!

I thought I was the only one!!!

"NAAM hates shopping to-oooo!"

I can never find anything to fit, I'm a size 10/12 but because of my boobs I have to buy a size 16 or tops will never fit!!!!! I hate it!! Can't wear dresses, have to buy special swimwear the last bikini I bought cost me £60, it wasn't a designer one and no it wasn't bloody gold-plated!!!!

Oh dear! better go and have a cup of tea, more anti-biotics, pain killers and calm down a bit!

NotActuallyAMum · 12/10/2005 13:25

Lol Squirrel - I too thought I was the only one who didn't like shopping

Not telling you what size I am - I'll tell when, yes when, I've lost some weight . Not going to be able to tell you how much I've lost tho - I daren't weigh myself cos I know if I do I'll get upset

Squirrel3 · 12/10/2005 13:36

I look bigger than I am because of the boobs, I only 'grew' them after I gave up smoking 6yrs ago, I was tiny back then, a size 6/8, with 32B/C boobs.

I always wanted to be bigger, people used to say "that squirrel's anorexic (sp?) you know!" so I made a point of eating infront of people, then they said "that squirrel's bullemic (sp?) you know!".

But having said that I wish I could loose a stone and go back to half way between what I was then and what I am now. Maybe we should diet together!

NotActuallyAMum · 12/10/2005 13:53

Sounds good to me

I've got a lot more than a stone to lose tho . In June 2003 I was 15 stone 3, by December 2003 I was 9 stone 7, I met DP in June 2004, think I was about 10 stone then, and I think I'm about 14 stone 7 now but like I said I don't know exactly cos I'm refusing to weigh myself! I'll be able to tell when I start losing it by my clothes - I've got very little that fits at the mo!!

Squirrel3 · 12/10/2005 14:00

I haven't got a clue how much I weigh, don't even own scales!

As soon as I am feeling better I am going to start excersising again, dd wants to loose the weight she put on during preg, maybe we could go to the gym together, shame you live so far away we could all go!!!

Squirrel3 · 12/10/2005 14:01

Can't spell today!!!!

Squirrel3 · 12/10/2005 14:08

Or we could try this!

Squirrel3 · 12/10/2005 14:10

Or this!

tarantula · 12/10/2005 14:13

lol Must be a stepmum thing this hating shopping. Cant stand it at all!!!

What are you thinking or Squirrel Cleaningand tidying. Sit down and put your feet up. What you need is a large Elderberry cordial with extra brandy
