Howdy!!!! Squirrel 3 and I have decided that as we are a bit nutty, we'd like to set up the Nutty Stepmum's Club or NSC. If anyone would like to join us, please add to this post and prove that we are not the only nutters out there!

We would like to add a little bit more nuttyness to our already insane lives!!!!

SadSam · 01/06/2005 17:56

pmsl at Squirrel and Tarantula. Oh and I want to be in the dream with the bit about just us stepmums and lots of wine. Sounds like bliss. I actually like my MIL, I get on really well with her, much better than DP gets on with my mother!!!!!!!

I really feeling like I just want to pack up my tent and go away for the weekend, no kids, no DP!

We have got the younger Step children this weekend and I really feel the need for some time-out!!!

It?s my Birthday on Saturday and we can't do anything nice for me as SS has got a football tournament all day so I'm spending my Birthday watching SS play football......

GGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRR............ I HATE FOOTBALL!!!!!

It?s such a shame I can't drive because (seriously) I would do it, a weekend in the New Forest would be wonderful, bliss, fantastic, excellent.... I can't think of any more words.... I just want to get away, drink loads of Vino and celebrate my Birthday!!!

tarantula · 02/06/2005 10:18

Oh what a beautiful picture squirrel Think Ive fallen in love. Im no where near as pretty as that. Wish my knees were that colour . Think of it this way tho if ss is playing football all day hell be really tired and you can send him off to bed early and have a nice relaxing evening with a bottle of wine. Well thats the theory anyway. Not sure itll work in practice tho.

squirrel3 · 02/06/2005 10:23

The step chldren go to bed early!!!!! No way!!!!

They NEVER go to bed early, we had them last night and DS went to bed as he had to get up for to work, I went to bed and they were still up making a load of noise so DP and I had a bit of a row because if he is going to let them stay up all hours they should at least be considerate enough to keep the noise down when other people are trying to sleep Gggggggggggggrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!

OOOOOOOOOOOOppps, Sorry for the rant!

tarantula · 02/06/2005 10:31

thats where I put my foot down Squirrel. I told dp that as dss was in OUR house that I was entitled to tell him off as much as he was HAve to say his mum backed me up on this as it makes her life easier if he isnt let run riot round ours. On Tuesday night I read them both the riot act at 11.30 for making too much noise and sent ds packing to bed with the threat of me getting him up when I left for work if he dared argue (he didnt ).

Surfermum · 02/06/2005 11:27

Hi guys. That dream is so weird Squirrel! I have just got back from camping in the New Forest. We went with friends and I had to take strawberries and couldn't decide whether to take 2 or 3 punnets - we ended up with loads. And, of course, we drank plenty.

squirrel3 · 02/06/2005 11:28

You wouldn't believe how many arguments we have had about bedtimes. The problem is their mother lets them stay up until the wee ours of the morning if they don't have to go to school the next day, they stay up far to late when it is a school night IMO.

We tend to have a big row about it then DP agrees with me, starts to make them go to bed at a reasonable time then as time goes by he 'forgets' about it then slips back to letting them go to bed whenever they want and I get so

squirrel3 · 02/06/2005 11:30

Surfermum I am so

I should have been there!!!!!!!

tarantula · 02/06/2005 11:30

did you have a look at the lovely picture of me that squirrel posted SM? Not sure youd quite appericate it tho. Wished Id been away camping really really want to go soon. Am green with envy here.

squirrel3 · 02/06/2005 11:31

I WANT TO GO CAMPING FOR MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

tarantula · 02/06/2005 11:35

Yeah dp gets a bit like that squirrel and I have to nag him lots. Luckily dss does normally do as I ask him so I can put my foot down and tell him to go tho Id rather dp did it IYSWIM. Dss is really good company in the evenings and thats why we often forget the time so its quite an effort to get him to bed at a reasonable hour even tho I know its better for him.

tarantula · 02/06/2005 11:36

Blimey (puts hands over ears) thats it Squirrel you shout and stamp your feet Feel a bit better now?

squirrel3 · 02/06/2005 11:37

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Surfermum · 02/06/2005 11:39

I did almost click on it and stopped just in time! That'll teach me for being so nosy!

Dsd won't go to bed when she's with us either and dh won't make her. Bit of a bone of contention here too. Sometimes it can be funny too - if she's crashed on the settee and is fast asleep, if dh carries her upstairs she normally says sleepily "I'm not tired, I'm just bored".

I had to take her home last night (2 hour round trip) as dh wasn't well enough to drive. Dropped her at the garden gate as I was too scared to take her in myself. Big pants in the wash you see.

tarantula · 02/06/2005 11:40

lol didnt think it would. I can send you a copy of the sign I have over my desk here at work if you like.

It reads 'FOOTBALLL FREE ZONE'

Ok it doesnt work but it does make me feel better.

squirrel3 · 02/06/2005 11:42

The New Forest SIGH!!!

squirrel3 · 02/06/2005 11:44

A football free zone...........

Oh yes please lol.

squirrel3 · 02/06/2005 13:28

squirrel3 · 02/06/2005 13:31
