Howdy!!!! Squirrel 3 and I have decided that as we are a bit nutty, we'd like to set up the Nutty Stepmum's Club or NSC. If anyone would like to join us, please add to this post and prove that we are not the only nutters out there!

We would like to add a little bit more nuttyness to our already insane lives!!!!

Hello all, feeling a little better this evening. Thank you all for your advices, encouragement and king messages.

Squirrel, we are so alike, thank you for still messaging and being there even though you are going through such a terrible time yourself. Thank you also for the stressed prayer, that made me feel much better and I have printed it off and put it on my desk in work.

Reflection thank you for your messages. I will try and talk to DP, but he doesnt do "talking" very well. Im sorry to hear your DP was made redundant and Im glad that things are picking up for you in his new business. All the best of luck to you both x

We are going away for the weekend to my parents in Wales and im hoping this will relax me a little as Im feeling very on edge at the moment.

Hope to talk to you all on Monday, although Ive just been told today that MDs are monitoring our internet useage in work, so may only be on once a day. Please do not think that I am ignoring you gals, I will message when I can, but when I cant I will be thinking of you all. xx

Sadsam, you won't believe this but my Grandparents are Welsh, they came from Mid-Glamorgan in South Wales and moved to Kent when my mother was 14!!!

I hope you enjoy your weekend.

reflection · 22/04/2005 15:52

Yet again it's friday...

Just skipping out the door....see you monday x

SadSam · 24/04/2005 20:43

Hi Squirrel, god we have so much in common! My parents are quite far down in Pembrokeshire, they are not Welsh, they only moved there a couple of years ago, but they love it.

Weekend was quite relaxing, didnt do anything, just got waited on hand foot and finger by my parents, I got it sussed!

Had a few niggly arguments with DP, but nothing major. I tried to explain to him that I just get so down about our whole sorry situation. He still doesn't really understand though!

Hope you had a good weekend?

squirrel3 · 25/04/2005 10:57

Sadsam, do your parents want to adopt another daughter, I could do with being waited on hand and foot. Lol

Glad you had a lovely relaxing weekend.

SadSam · 25/04/2005 21:37

Lol Squirrel, Im sure my folks wouldn't mind another "daughter" to wait on. Ill ask em to make up the guest room!!! Lol

How are you feeling now? Sorry I haven't been communicating much, not allowed to use computers in work too often now I will try and message in the evening though, dont want you thinking ive forgotten you

Hello joec, welcome to our Nutty Club.

squirrel3 · 27/04/2005 15:20

How is everyone today?

Its been very quiet the past few days, where are you reflection, tarantula and all of the rest of you? I'm feeling old today...

Are you a child of the 80?s? You know you are a true child of the 80?s when;

You never questioned why the A-Team were always imprisoned in places that had sufficient tools to build an armoured tank.

You fell out with friends during heated arguments about the relative merits of Matt & Luke.

You owned, or wanted a "Frankie says..." T-shirt.

You have ever danced (or even worse cried) to Kylie & Jason.

Cerise pink, electric blue and banana yellow have ever featured in your wardrobe or make-up collection.

You remember when the A-Ha video was the pinnacle of modern technology, and you can still sing all the words.

Your best party dress was either a ra-ra or puff-ball skirt.

You wondered why a popular kids TV programme told you to "Turn off your TV set and go and do some less boring instead".

You cried at Zammo's funeral. (I cried buckets)

You wanted to be either Nancy Drew or the Hardy Boys.

You remember the aerobie scare.

You have ever po-goed or space-hopped.

You remember when Keith Chegwin & Maggie Philbin were the hottest romantic couple.

You wondered why your walkie-talkie didn't have the same range as those in the Red Hand Gang.

You were shocked by the controversial plot lines in Degrassi Junior High.

You tried to set up a "Famous Five" or "Secret Seven" gang with your school friends.

You tried to convince your Dad to fit a strip of red lights on the front of his Capri so it looked like KITT.

You ever had more than 10 sweets in a 10p mix-up.

Not only did you wear luminous clothing, but they were mismatched fingerless gloves and towelling socks.

You remember when Betamax was at the cutting edge of technology.

Conveyor belts regularly carried washing machines, deep-fat fryers and a cuddly toy.

You could have got away with it if it hadn't been for those meddling kids.

(Girls) You owned a pair of Pixie Boots, generally worn with leg warmers.

Ooh, you could crush a Grape!

You went to school with Pogo Patterson, Gripper Stebson, and Ro-land.

Fingermouse.

You were proud of your picture appearing in the Gallery.

You remember Look In magazine, and when it was only 20p

No 73?

Your best mate had a soda stream at home and you were jealous

tarantula · 27/04/2005 15:29

yoho yoho ahoy Im here ws off on Friday as not well so got to watch tv with dd Have become addicted to Yoho ahoy think it brilliant.

Love the 80s list but didnt get all of it obv had a deprived Irish childhood

squirrel3 · 27/04/2005 15:34

Maybe your not as old as me then!

Oh no, must polish my zimmer frame...

tarantula · 27/04/2005 15:36

na Im just so old that my memory isnt working properly.

squirrel3 · 27/04/2005 15:43

Well do you remember;

Having a petticoat with a embroidery anglaise border showing under your skirt?

or

Knowing if there was "a Humphrey about"?

tarantula · 27/04/2005 15:46

oh yeas reamember the petticoats

but we didnt have BBC so didnt see Humphrey.

Def a deprived Irish childhood tho did get Wanderly Wagon on RTE to make up for it .....not

tarantula · 27/04/2005 15:47

what about those Knickerbockers cant remember what they were called now I had a pair of them and loved them.

squirrel3 · 27/04/2005 15:51

You don't remember watch out, watch out there's a Humphrey about!!!! (it was a TV commercial for milk)

What about Dallas and Dynasty, remember the huge shoulder pads!!

The fashions were awful in the 80's, just cringing as I remember the things we used to wear!!

squirrel3 · 27/04/2005 16:06

I think the knickerbockers were called pedalpushers (I might be wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me if I am).

Just remembered one outfit I used to love, I had a 'gypsy' skirt (with the embroidery anglaise) worn with a gypsy style top and wait for it......

Cowboy boots!!!!!!!

I thought I looked great!!!

Actually thinking about it wouldn't look out of place today!!! I always knew I was a style icon!

tarantula · 27/04/2005 16:08

thats it pedal pushers see my memory is going Im getting old.

squirrel3 · 27/04/2005 16:15
