Sick of goady fuckers, trolls and people coming to bash SM from all angles! Some of the "advise" is shocking. If you try it's "step back, not your kids!" But if you don't it's "you're cold and the kids know it". And god forbid you just have a rant that you can't in RL. I see the same posters with the same SM hating shite!

But you keep fibbing Wakey that's not a sensible debate. That just renders it a pointless bunfight.

I like buns!

MrsVamos · 11/09/2014 17:18

I said that parents saying horrible things about DCs is not strenuously challenged because as parents, most of us here get that.

You changed it to say I'd said "others do it so its ok".

I thought PBP weren't allowed back full stop.

Shows how wrong I am.

ArsenicFaceCream · 11/09/2014 17:18

Look, there was a great deal of positive posting and agreement on this thread yesterday.

This morning it went very wrong but just as we were reaching some agreement around a constructive suggestion again, someone determinedly derailled with accusations that I was 'being arsey' because I asked a perfectly polite question.

It just gets boring.

NickiFury · 11/09/2014 17:18

Prefer eclairs myself.

Are they buns? Confused

NickiFury · 11/09/2014 17:18

That was addressed to wakey not you msvamos.

Why MrsV Which PBP is back?

PausingFlatly · 11/09/2014 17:22

Woah woah.

Arsenic, some of your posts above did come across as slightly arsey. Honestly. Even if that wasn't at all what you meant.

So, maybe some Brew with those buns, and back to the really constructive stuff that was happening? The he-said-she-said isn't helpful.

MrsVamos · 11/09/2014 17:22

Am I not allowed a cake ? Sad

NickiFury · 11/09/2014 17:23

Cake AND buns? You've just taken it to a whole other level!

WakeyCakey45 · 11/09/2014 17:24

Maybe MNHQ could introduce the option to lock a thread to new posters when the OP decides they no longer wants further contributors?

That would mean a group of people on the boards could all debate and agree, and then stop others coming to the party late, expressing a contrary opinion and so opening the issue up for debate again?

Perhaps it could be done by consensus - if say, 10 people on a thread all say they want it locked, then only people who have already posted can continue to post on the thread?

MrsVamos · 11/09/2014 17:25

Arsenic

I think its a long running problem.

People alter a spelling of a nn ever so slightly, use a different device, I don't know, I've never been banned !

Perhaps HQ have a new weekly banning system, to see if people can be good posters and are allowed to stay under 'new' nn ?

MrsVamos · 11/09/2014 17:26

ArsenicFaceCream · 11/09/2014 17:26

Arsenic, some of your posts above did come across as slightly arsey. Honestly. Even if that wasn't at all what you meant.

It's not meant that way pausing. I do get a sinking feeling when I see a thread start to slide. Maybe the resignation comes across?

I'm just lost now TBH. I can't really follow what is being alleged, I'm trying to unravel what is being hinted at.

PausingFlatly · 11/09/2014 17:28

And Wakey, I'm horrified to hear that the name-calling you cite is going unchallenged anywhere on MN?

If you saw those examples, why didn't you challenge them? They aren't acceptable wherever they're posted.

And while sympathising with a poster for being pushed over the edge, clearly one shouldn't validate them saying such stuff.

ArsenicFaceCream · 11/09/2014 17:29

Ah! MrsV I can help you there Smile

Many posters across MN slightly alter there NN, to change but still be recognisable. I've done it. They aren't PBPs!

PausingFlatly · 11/09/2014 17:30

I think you just both got prickly Arsenic - not surprising when everyone is defensive on a difficult thread.

Not worth analysing, better to move on?

WakeyCakey45 · 11/09/2014 17:32

If you saw those examples, why didn't you challenge them? They aren't acceptable wherever they're posted.

Have you tried it? I've seen posters a lot more vehement than those on this thread be handed their hats (no pun intended) when they've waded into a quiche and challenged a long standing member.
Hence my post up thread to MNHQ - how can a quiche on the Stepboard protect itself from that kind of interference (as oppose to a genuine new member) in the way other quiches do?

MrsVamos · 11/09/2014 17:33

Arsenic

Umm, yes, some are PBPs. Honest.

I've been here a few years now, I know how the place works !

NickiFury · 11/09/2014 17:34

I don't arsenic was any more prickly than anyone else on this thread tbh.

PausingFlatly · 11/09/2014 17:35

Wakey MNHQ doesn't lock threads anywhere else on the site "because the OP doesn't want further contributions" (hope my paraphrase OK).

So to do so only here would be giving some special power of censorship to the OPs on SP.

Goady fuckers or people following each other around to have a pop, on the other hand, should get dealt with everywhere on the site. Report to MNHQ if you feel that's what's happening?

ArsenicFaceCream · 11/09/2014 17:35

I think you just both got prickly Arsenic - not surprising when everyone is defensive on a difficult thread.

Well if you mean the accusation that I was being arsey, I was plain indignant Grin

MrsVamos · 11/09/2014 17:36

I'm not prickly.

Soft and squidgy, sadly.

PausingFlatly · 11/09/2014 17:36

Agreed, Nicki! 'Tis a veritable cactus field!
