Is this necessary? I don’t even know who Scooby supports!

But I have also said with VAR, the stupid awful way the Champions League is run that it is ruining it a bit and I am dreading a little how this World Cup will be

that I am really looking forward to the Winter Olympics and curling!

Bradford City and they lost yesterday.

Our match is not until tomorrow night. We don't have a Saturday 3pm kick off until May.

Bradford City and they lost yesterday.

Against Huddersfield, no less. 🤬

I'm sorry to be so predictable if I've made comments like that before. 😂 My relationship with football is very fluid but I am a season ticket holder and I've been going to Bradford City for around 30 years so it's impossible to get out now. 😂
We started very well, above all expectations, but there seems to be a reluctance to strengthen in this window and I think this will ultimately leave us disappointed.

Brefugee · 25/01/2026 11:46

well i didn't remember your user name so it would have served you right if you got deleted for that.

FGS at least use an emoticon or something.

About to head off to the Borussia Park to watch Gladbach get royally stuffed by Stuttgart. Sigh. Why do i do this to myself?

(in other news, the team we beat 4-0 last home game, beat Bayern yesterday so whoop whoop!)

DuncinToffee · 25/01/2026 12:01

Good luck Brefugee

South coast derby is about to kick off, Pompey v Saints.

Rather like this thread at the moment 😉

Genuinely did not mean to cause tension! I'm sorry.

Don't worry about it. We just have had bad experiences with people coming on these threads having a dig at football supporters.

No worries.

I wasn't aware there are people who use this thread for ingenuine reasons but I'll be mindful of that now. 😊

Speaking of kicking off, it's the 31 year anniversary of Eric's famous visit to Selhurst Park today. Writing 31 years makes me realise how bloody old I am 🤦🏻‍♀️

OMG, I remember when it happened - you've made me feel ancient too, now! 😆

Tarkan · 25/01/2026 15:59

So I’ve had one score correct on Super 6 out of 5 matches so far. Thanks to Chelsea v Palace for that. One day I’ll actually get close, I just need to remember to play it more though. I always forget.

Scoobydoobydoo19 · 25/01/2026 16:01

I forgot this week. I'm kicking myself.

Brightbluesomething · 25/01/2026 16:15

@Scoobydoobydoo19 sorry about yesterday. Lots of my friends were at the match (both sides). You’ve got a couple of young lads from us though, Ashby and White and they have a lot of promise. Never quite broke into our first team but were on our bench a fair bit. They might develop well for you.
My fpl is dreadful, my bench has more points than the whole of my team since I always bench our opponents. PSG on Wednesday will be tricky.

Scoobydoobydoo19 · 25/01/2026 16:29

@Brightbluesomething It's hard to comment on individual players based on yesterday because everyone was so terrible - but Ashby in particular has looked good. White was subbed at HT yesterday but I think he will be OK once he settles in. He was chucked in the deep end a bit with a derby for his debut!

Do you have a #9 we can borrow? 😉

Haha you’re welcome to our #9, it’s not like he’s doing much for us. Considering we have 3 options at 9/10, none of them reliably know where the goal is. We can’t keep relying on wingers to score in every match, the opposition have caught onto this.
Cook going to Grimsby isn’t great for City, he’s been a good servant, but he might get more chances to watch the Toon now?

At least Woltemade would be tall enough to get to the hoof ball unlike poor Kavanagh! They just hoof it to him and hope but he has no chance because he's not very tall.
I'm still sore about Cook. I know we've been promoted and he's coming back from serious injury but I still think in games like yesterday where we're missing a presence in the box, he could have done something.
Hopefully he does get to watch "his team".a bit more though! I was absolutely buzzing for him when he scored at SJP.

Brightbluesomething · 25/01/2026 17:00

You’d think so but Nick isn’t great with his head! Wissa isn’t tall enough to reach. I’m hoping Osula has had his weetabix while he’s been out or we’re not looking great.
That was a career defining moment for Cook, scoring in front of the Leazes/away end, so pleased for him. My socials were full of my Bradford friends having a great time in the Toon, and you never stopped singing. Easily the best away supporters by a country mile.
