If someone had told you even five years ago that Bournemouth or indeed any other team would score four times at Manchester United in a Premier League game, no one would have believed you.

This is very true.
Standards have dropped significantly 🤦🏻‍♀️
But if you can't enjoy a 4-4 thriller then football ain't the game for you.
Plus, there were many things in that match from a United perspective that we've all been wanting for such a long time.
Despite only being a draw, I saw it as a huge step in the right direction for Amorim 🤞🏻

@JasonTindallsTan Congrats-you must be chuffed

My DS is there-newcastle will be bonkers.

Nice to see a local lad with the winner.

JasonTindallsTan · 17/12/2025 23:05

I let DD take my ticket tonight as she’s home from uni, her and DH went and had a thoroughly marvellous time!! I paced the living room floor and probs gave my deaf neighbour a heart attack with the roar I let out when Miley’s header went in.

City in the semi’s, I’d rather have had the second leg at home but it’ll do to just be in the mix!

TheExcitersblowingupmymind · 18/12/2025 04:53

Come on Aberdeen don't give the new Celtic manager his first win on Sunday.
It's ace watching Celtic implode as for years the god given right to turn up and win entitlement Celtic fans have.
Coyr on Sunday.

burblish · 18/12/2025 16:08

I was very sorry to hear about the death of Macclesfield's Ethan McLeod in a car accident - he was only 21. That's no age to go.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 20/12/2025 12:51

When are referees going to penalise players impeding goal keepers.

Ok, so the goal was disallowed, but why didn't Schar get a yellow card?

Brefugee · 20/12/2025 12:52

Voldemort's off to a good start!
oh VAR for the 2nd goal - i am firmly of the opinion that if you have to use a calibrated line, it should be ruled in favour of the attacking side.

I used that wildcard thing this week as apparently you lose them on week 19. So I transferred out half of my team ... Him included 😡

I still have my free hit to play, using triple captain today.

How is that not a penalty on Gordon?

Referees are allowing players to use such force it is getting dangerous.

DuncinToffee · 20/12/2025 14:51

That was a penalty

I don't understand how Konate's challenge v Leeds was deemed to be a penalty but Chalobah's challenge on Gordon today wasn't. The only consistent thing about VAR is its inconsistency! Newcastle must be (rightfully) steaming about that.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 20/12/2025 15:28

Yes, I can just about get my head around a shoulder barge, but that was so forceful and violent.

Lots of players are doing it as well as impeding the keeper violently and the referees are just letting it go.

Comparing our bench with Arsenal's 😂

Well, you are playing much better than we are.

Yes, but Konate wasn't exactly innocent himself.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 20/12/2025 20:28

Yes, but Konate wasn't exactly innocent himself.

I obviously must have missed it when Konate raked his studs down someone's leg hard enough to tear holes in their socks, drew blood from hitting someone in the mouth, sat on a player and put his hands on their neck, and badly injured a player with a sliding scissors tackle. Oh, no, wait, he didn't do any of those things - that was all done by Spurs players. As you were, then.

I didn't watch the match, only the red cards so can't comment on the other incidents, but the commentators on Sky said that Konate provoked the red card. That was what I was referring to.

My comment on Spurs playing dirty today wasn't about the Romero second yellow - it was about the other incidents of which I've mentioned some examples (and there were more - e.g., Isak also got studs raked down his thigh from a high challenge). That's why I didn't understand why you mentioned Konate - we were referring to different things.

As for provocation, Konate clearly annoyed Romero but Konate didn't tell Romero to hit out at him. That was all Romero's own doing and stupidity. If Ekitike or Szoboszlai had retaliated when Richarlison was engaging in classless shithousery with them, I would have said they were bloody stupid for doing so (thank goodness neither of them reacted).

(Btw, Frimpong was so wound up by Richarlison's arm bloodying his lip that Slot very wisely took him off before his fury got him in trouble. If Frimpong had stayed on and been booked as a result of his anger at Richarlison's actions, it would have been his own fault, not Richarlison's. Richarlison didn't get booked for the arm in the face, btw, and I am ok with that because, even though he is a complete fuckhead, I don't think there was any intent there.)

burblish · 20/12/2025 21:52

Just to add, I saw Romero's behaviour for both his cards as stupid, not dirty. He could, and should, have avoided both of them.

Yes, Richarlison is always like that and I did see the injuries to Isak but had forgotten about them.

Not good by Spurs.
