Oh phew. I thought I’d have to throw hands there 😂

There is one. Somewhere. No doubt they’ll pop up if the score doesn’t go our way 👀

Ah good. I thought the makem was you 😂

LlynTegid · 14/12/2025 16:04

Meeting someone from South Shields among those at the event I am going to this evening.

Won't mention football then.

With my name?

We were fucking dreadful today. Mind Sunderland weren’t exactly world class, we had to score their goal for them. Anthony Elanga is awful, genuinely really really bad. I so wanted him to do well and come good but he’s just awful. In every aspect of the game.

i never wanted Sunderland back in the league, i hate derby days with a passion. I want them to be languishing in the lower leagues. Anyone who likes a derby wants their head reading.

DuncinToffee · 14/12/2025 16:46

I left Woltemade on the bench 😇Not that my other players fared much better.

Well done Mackems!

Derbies are more hype than anything but occasionally they are full of passion.

Derbies are fun!

As long as you're winning...

Newcastle dwelling DC just sent some pics from their amazing lunch at the Lord Crewe Arms-notoriously hard to get in to but apparently everyone in the Northeast was otherwise engaged...

I think there is something about derbies that somehow ratchet up the emotions in a way other matches don't!!

I feel very old.

When I was young you did not have clubcards or loyalty cards, at petrol stations you collected vouchers. After perhaps 10 you could get some form of free gift, I recall tumblers at one time. The other one are placemats, and I am sure the Lord Crewe Arms was pictured on one of them.

MrsMitford3 · 14/12/2025 17:20

that's brilliant @LlynTegid

it is very handsome! and the food looked amazing. Silver lining and all that 😂

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 14/12/2025 17:55

Yes, well done Sunderland. My son in law is very happy.

Sorry I didn’t notice your name when I replied. Horrible brain fog and tiredness.
I agree on every single point. It was painful to watch, to me Newcastle looked tired and just couldn’t keep up.
But the makems won’t be laughing in March when they come to us…their only goal was an own goal, they didn’t manage to get one in on their own turf despite our abysmal performance.

Of all the days to play badly though and lose. And I hope Dan Burn is ok that was some blow to his chest 😔

Oh god, same!! i loved it when Cologne were in the 2nd division (unfortunately only one season), and when Wednesday play United it's just unbearable. All the really bad tempered stuff is beyond my comprehension.

but then i have never got the whole "i am a fan of x team and i hate everything related to y team with such a passion that i behave like a cunt"

I suspect he has fractured ribs and a punctured lung, he couldn’t breath properly, he should never have been allowed back on the pitch.

No surprises there then…

Isn’t that similar to the injury Diogo Jota had? It’s not an easy recovery is he and Newcastle will miss him

JasonTindallsTan · 15/12/2025 18:24

We currently have 4 fit defenders. That’s it. Need to get some reinforcements in come January.

DuncinToffee · 15/12/2025 18:34

I hear you Jason, we are the same. Threadbare squad with injuries and now 2 off to the Afcon

Six Sunderland players are going to Afcon.

We haven't got any thank goodness.

JasonTindallsTan · 15/12/2025 21:46

None for us either since Wissa decided to stay home.

Hellohah · 15/12/2025 22:03

Not sure if any of you watched this evening, but what a fantastic game of football! Disappointed not to take 3 points but jeepers I enjoyed that 👍🏻

Yep, Jota was out for about 6 weeks, I think, when he sustained a pneumothorax playing against Chelsea in Oct 2024. He then had surgery for it in the close season, just before he died. Hope poor Dan Burn recovers soon.

Tiswa · 15/12/2025 22:12

It was amazing but dear god defensively! There were other moments that very much could be goals as well

Yes it was a great game. Not sure I would have enjoyed it if I was a United fan though!

I think it’s only Baleba from Brighton- last season that would have been huge lose but he has been very up and down this season and no where near his best mostly

If someone had told you even five years ago that Bournemouth or indeed any other team would score four times at Manchester United in a Premier League game, no one would have believed you.
