Looking for a way out during the transfer window?

@Tiswa If that's his thinking (to force the club to choose between him and Slot), then I hope the door won't hit him where the good lord split him. No club should allow a player - no matter who they may be - to think they get to call the shots.

I think it must be - with the added side of if it fails he will go.

i would be surprised if it is anything else. He must be aware that is what he is doing

burblish · 07/12/2025 14:09

@Tiswa You said, "I suspect he hasn’t done it without some of the other players being aware."

Dominik Szoboszlai did the post-match TV interviews yesterday. He was asked how much of a toll this bad run is taking on the dressing room and he replied, "What is in the dressing room stays in the dressing room."

This was before Salah spoke out but it suggests to me that whether some of the other players knew what Salah was going to do or not, he's not going to be hailed as a hero for it by his teammates. (At least, not for the manner of it, even if some of them may agree with the sentiment.)

that's not acceptable. I would bench him. Sod the winter transfer window. On the subs bench and training with the 2nd squad for a month.

So Blackburn need to face sanctions because their pitch clearly isn't up to a bit of rain. TBH i really don't care if we don't get a replay and the match is awarded to them being based on them being 1-0 up when it was called off. But there need to be sanctions because this is not the first time.

Brefugee · 09/12/2025 12:41

Wrexham, eh? getting shed loads of money for no reason. That they don't have to pay back.

Meanwhile we will penalise other clubs who have shitty owners. Got it.

I agree. A simple one for Blackburn would be that if a match is abandoned because of it in future, the replayed game is at the other team's ground or a neutral one.

Tiswa · 09/12/2025 17:48

I don’t like the way the Wrexham story has been done though which some having ridiculously high figures (£600 billion) that reflect the asset holdings of the company rather than the cash injection of £350million which will fund i think a new stadium

i get the unfairness compared with other clubs I just didn’t like the reporting

JasonTindallsTan · 10/12/2025 22:08

Ugggghhhh yet another late goal conceded. We need to stop doing this. It’s not good enough. Almost as soon as we took the lead I was like, I’ve seen this movie before…

TheNewGaard · 10/12/2025 22:21

OK, that was satisfactory. Our 7th, and indeed, 8th centre back pairing of the season. Good to see Marli Salmon get a CL start (although, to be fair, he looked pretty terrified when he came on - but he did OK when he needed to).

No new injuries!

DuncinToffee · 13/12/2025 17:20

Can they stop talking about Salah now Confused

DuncinToffee · 13/12/2025 17:22

We couldn't score for toffee today and the KDH injury is a big worry but otherwise work in progress.

gah - Gladbach absolute shite today. Really really bad.

TheNewGaard · 13/12/2025 22:07

Thank fuck for that. When they equalised I had a look at bluesky, and everyone was saying we deserved it. We tried to telephone that one in. We need to do better. We got away with one tonight.

Come on Palace!

My husband went to the toilet, so we had to stop the game. Luckily, I could see that we had won as soon as they had equalised otherwise I wouldn't have been able to cope with the stress.

Tiswa · 13/12/2025 22:19

Arsenal look formidable in Europe at the moment in the Champions League. Worthy to be at the top.

they did not look like that tonight at all. Everton/Brighton/Villa may not be so forgiving or Palace in the cup which really mean back to back games

I know. We are a totally different team in Europe.

Not sure why.

TheNewGaard · 13/12/2025 23:31

I think we expected to win that one, and that's why we nearly didn't. We need to take every game seriously - particularly in the premiership. It's not the most difficult league in the world for no reason.

Yeah I think as well Arsenal winning will be a mental test.

Liverpool won last season in part because Man City imploded so much and they could have a blip without panicking.

if Crystal Palace can get something today that would be huge otherwise Man City festive fixtures are West Ham Forest and Sunderland.

Thst said neither Swedish striker has exactly set this season alight you can see why they are probably not going to be at the World Cup next year!

DuncinToffee · 14/12/2025 11:55

That Arsenal result did not help my FPL Grin

@unforgettablefire this is the right thread.

And I hope you lose 👍🏻 spectacularly.

Assuming you support the wrong side of course.

Do we have a makem onboard?

JasonTindallsTan · 14/12/2025 13:47

Oh phew. I thought I’d have to throw hands there 😂

There is one. Somewhere. No doubt they’ll pop up if the score doesn’t go our way 👀
