Really pleased for Woltemade scoring on his debut, just what he needed to get off to a flying start. Eases the pressure after the rumours that Wissa, the striker we overpaid for as he had PL experience and could get going for us asap whilst Big Nick beds in - oh and has only missed 8 games in 4 seasons - has done his ACL on international duty…

I was at the County Ground this afternoon - my local adopted team to see them go top of the league ❤️ onwards to the little match tomorrow at midday, unfortunately only an armchair viewer.

Oooh Swindon, I enjoy watching Gills playing them. Proper grudge match.

Tiswa · 14/09/2025 13:51

I knew Wissa was injured didn’t realise it was that bad thought it was 5-6 weeks

Ted Lasso is filming again in Richmond fairly near me

and I know it isn’t football but he was a big fan it is sad about Ricky Hatton

DuncinToffee · 14/09/2025 13:56

I saw that on my football time line, only 46.

Yeah the ACL was just a rumour, has since come out more likely to be 5-6 weeks, but still, almost never injured, signs for us, crocked straight away 🤦🏼‍♀️

Really sad about Ricky Hatton, he was such a larger than life character.

You are in danger of becoming a team of dodgy perms Grin

Woltemade would have been a good fit for the German team of the late 80's

He looks like such a throwback player, with his long sleeves as well, can see him becoming quite the cult hero 😂

Gordon on the other hand needs a trim. Big time.

Hellohah · 14/09/2025 15:10

Derby day ❤️

Hope I'm smiling come 6.30 😂

TheNewGaard · 14/09/2025 16:03

FFS, Liverpool get lucky again!

Tiswa · 14/09/2025 16:13

Woltenade Really reminds me of someone maybe it is German players of the 80s if anyone has any ideas!

I have to say I am not the greatest fan of Newcastle (some bad results) but I do warm to him so I hope he does well will be happy for him to become a cult hero

Ricky Hatton is my school year so seems just so young. Clearly troubled though

ice age morning GIF

He has an air of this fella about him 🤣

Tiswa · 14/09/2025 17:09

That is funny. It is partly Henning Wehn as well but there is someone else I can’t quite put my finger on!

DuncinToffee · 14/09/2025 17:15

Rudi Voller?

On the way home from Gladbach vs Werder. I have no words.

Haaland did well as my FPL captain.

Crisis talks at Gladbach today. (only 1.5 seasons too frickin' late). If it doesn't end with the trainer and the sport director gone there will be trouble...

but we have a home cup match, first one in ages and because i'm a sucker, i got tickets for that. 😂

Wilder is back at Sheffield United

I know he is a lifelong Blades fan and had success in previous spells, but I would not have gone back in his shoes.

burblish · 15/09/2025 19:17

Farcical stuff at both Sheffield teams, really. It makes one's head spin that Sheffield Utd have sacked Ruben Selles and replaced him with Chris Wilder...three months after they sacked Chris Wilder and replaced him with Ruben Selles! (And it's Wilder's third stint as their manager - how long till they sack him again this time?)

@LlynTegid I agree - I think he is just really devoted to the Blades and I guess didn't get any other offers he was interested in this summer.

Kind of makes me think of Howard Kendall (one for @DuncinToffee!) who had three spells managing Everton in the 80s and 90s, where he also spent the best part of his playing career. When he left Man City (where he did very well) to rejoin Everton for his second stint as manager there, he famously said that if Man City was a love affair, Everton was a marriage.

Oblomov25 · 15/09/2025 19:23

Got tickets to go and see CL spurs v Villarreal tomorrow, can't wait!

Brefugee · 15/09/2025 20:56

is that Champions League? i love those European matches, even though Gladbach usually lost. Our home 4-2 win against Seville will remain as one of the highlights of my football watching life.

Sheffield clearly has something in the water that is sending 2 of the (many) football clubs doolally. Wilder won't last the season i suspect.

Meanwhile i am agitating for Danny Röhl to come to Gladbach. Or Dieter Hecking who we outrageously sacked for no good reason so we could get Marco fucking Rose as trainer. Grrrrr.

TheNewGaard · 15/09/2025 21:38

Anyone else watching Portugal legends against a Rest of the World team on ITVX?

Great fun!
