Oh England Sad some talent in that squad though. A joy to watch.

Yes, they certainly did not play like kids. Both sides were really good and both goals were excellent.

domineastronomy · 30/05/2024 21:41

Great match.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 30/05/2024 23:57

Excellent penalties, from both sides. Unfortunately, the Italian keeper was exceptional. One to keep an eye one I think.

Nwaneri's goal was superb as well.

In other news, I'm seeing reports that Benjamin Šeško has agreed to join Arsenal. Looks like he could be an interesting signing, although youtube compilations can be misleading...

Yes, just waiting for Chelsea to sign Sesko from under our noses, so not getting too excited yet.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 31/05/2024 15:42

We're supposed to be interested in Osimhen as well. Maybe we let Chelsea overpay for him instead...

EddieHowesShithousingMags · 31/05/2024 18:27

@Brefugee whats the reaction to Dortmund signing a sponsorship deal with an arms company?

Brefugee · 31/05/2024 21:25

as it turns out Rheinmetal had contacted (the one true Borussia) Gladbach first, who told them to jog on. So I'm hugely relieved.

Fans are incandescent with rage over here. German football twitter is absolutely boiling. I'm disappointed and upset over this, because it is foot in the door for other shady sponsors (not owners yet, as we don't allow that )

Yes, great news!

It was clear the deal was never going to happen, so thanks for the money, bye bye 777 baseball caps.

have seen lots of photos online of Dortmund fans attending all sorts of football matches yesterday. I am torn about who i want to win. I don't care about either team, but would love a German team to win. But i loathe Dortmund and the rubbish with the new sponsor (who, btw, also deliver weapons to Ukraine so not entirely shitty) is putting me off even more.

Oh well. Football is often more fun when you don't care about the result.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 01/06/2024 13:26

There's apparently a mini-tournament being played before the UCL final, but I can't find out if it's being shown anywhere - I think I'd rather watch that line up than the final!

24mPolite reminder that Jadon Sancho will be playing in the Champions league final tonight because he refused to apologize to Ten Hag.

What life lessons can we learn from this?

Wish the camera would stop focusing on Carlos Ancelotti's open mouthed gum chewing. Revolting.

domineastronomy · 01/06/2024 21:25

Dortmund really deserve to win this but I guess RM will score on the break as they usually manage to do..

domineastronomy · 01/06/2024 21:36

And there we go

AndNobbyDancing · 01/06/2024 21:45

I want (ed) Dortmund to win (I'm a sap, read about them paying for their cleaners/youngsters to attend)

Would have liked Bellingham to get the winner

TheSleepingGiant · 01/06/2024 22:17

Best team lost 💛

I don't like Dortmund but some of my friends do, and one was in the stadium tonight so I'm sorry they're disappointed.

I remember a few years ago when Dortmund played a London club (Arsenal?) and the fans were complaining about the ridiculous price of tickets, so Dortmund bought them all and sold them to the fans for the price they'd pay in the Westfalenstadion. Which was cool.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 04/06/2024 19:33

So here we go then;

Matt Lawton@Lawton_TimesEXCLUSIVE: Man City launch unprecedented legal action against Premier League. Has sparked civil war among clubs with hearing due to start on June 10. City describing PL financial rules as ‘tyranny of the majority’. Full story here on ⁦

And this is their argument?

Apparently up to 12 other clubs are joining in? The sooner they push off to their European super league with all their other Emirates mates the better.

DuncinToffee · 04/06/2024 20:16

Henry Winter is calling it out

https://x.com/henrywinter/status/1798050830383501324

John Stuart Mill's "Tyranny of the Majority" was about oppression of smaller groups. #MCFC are not oppressed. They've built a magnificent football team. They've got the Footballer of the Year and one of the greatest managers in history. They've got £100m subs. They've just won a 4th successive title so are hardly being victimised. Clubs agreed the rules. Sponsorship deals should be "fair market value". So who on earth advised City to take this action? It damages them. It diminishes the admiration stirred by their football. It alienates most other clubs. It harms the Premier League which should be about the sport but has become as much about the business, the money and the politicking. The only winners in all this are the lawyers.

So the England squad for the Euros is out.

There's no Sp*rs - we might actually have a chance!
