i suspect part of the problem is that the board members and sport director all want to have a say in how the team is run - no self respecting top-calibre manager would put up with that (hence so many people saying "thanks, but no thanks"

a done deal is Danny Röhl signing for 3 more years at Sheffield Wednesday. Very very happy with that.

It's been all over the media the last few days.
Most of us reds are very much ETH in and I'll be very annoyed if they sack him.
So today could be bittersweet. Just enjoying it whilst it for the moment. Couldn't make it today, but DS has gone, so happy he gets to travel back home to Manchester victorious this year. It's a long way home after a loss ❤️

Watched with a load of UTD fans, it was weird, they all seemed to be crippled by imposter syndrome.

It’s honestly the most Newcastle thing ever. Get to 7th with all of the injury issues we have had, finish above Man Utd for the first time ever. Just need to rely on the club who win everything to beat them to secure European football for us.

And they play like prime Sheffield Utd 🤦🏼‍♀️

Apparently we’re the highest scoring club ever to not get Europe and in 8 out of the 9 previous years 7th has always got through.

I am no fan of Utd or Ten Hag, but I thought it was such poor form of the BBC pundits and other reporters to focus their post-match interviews with Ten Hag on whether or not he expected to be given his marching orders. FFS, the man and his team had just won the FA Cup against all expectations - how about focusing on that instead?! Ghoulish and made for uncomfortable viewing in my opinion.

Agree about the Ten Hag interview. Let him enjoy the moment after getting stick all season ffs.

Would be a bit mad if they sacked him now. We have a statue outside our ground of the manager who last won the FA cup with us so the idea of sacking your FA cup winning manager is alien to me but obviously Man United have different expectations.

Not a good day for state owned clubs MCFC and NUFC was it? Unusual for 7th place not to qualify only because one of the higher teams usually wins the cup too, so it's nice to have a change from that situation, and a bit presumptuous for Newcastle fans to assume they were in although obviously City were the favourites.

Yeah it was a shame after such a great start against France. Looking forward to seeing them face Spain tomorrow.

Mikey Moore's family are local to me, his Uncle and I walk our dogs together. Mikey came with him once last year and had a few photo's taken with the primary school kids which was really sweet

Ye I watched that u17 game too with interest as our player Chris Rigg is the captain. He is 16 and has made a number of appearances for us in the championship this season and has been one of our better players- huge potential and we are hoping he signs a pro deal with us soon.

Nervous now.

Had tickets to go with my brother but have given it up so his mate can go, he is sadly unlikely to see next season, people say things like that put football in perspective, but it has made the win even more important.

Thanks. Saw a glimpse of them on Sky, I would have loved to be there but it was the right thing to do.

My nerves were fried, the commentators are saying the best team won- I think they were watching a different match, it felt like we were hanging on by our fingernails.

But none of that matters, we are back in the best league in the world.
