Good to hear Tarkan, good luck with your assignment!

Well I'm going to finish my degree (last assignment due on Thursday) and try to get myself enrolled on the Masters. 😁

I never did update that after many comments Arbroath told us they would be doing student season tickets at the same price as the pensioner ones. Not as cheap as last year but it's still better than full price (although I know our full price is still so much lower than what many other teams). And we have until the end of June to secure the same seats if we want them. My birthday is the start of July so I might ask for an early gift, I like the seatmates I have there. One of the directors' mother-in-law sits beside me with her sister and friend at the other side and there's a family in front with a couple and their two young kids plus the mum's parents and it's been lovely to see the kids growing up. Plus we're right behind the away dugout which is always great fun for winding up the away managers. 😁

glad to here there is some rebate on price. Your seat placement sounds great.

I may apply to have ours changed next season to the lower stand. My ancient knees can't handle all the steps to where we sit!

Conniethecatapillar · 19/05/2024 21:27

I'm glad it's over I can stop gambling and losing now 😅😭

EddieHowesShithousingMags · 20/05/2024 09:11

As the season comes to an end so does the mumsnet FPL mini league. Hard fought but a last minute bench boost played by me led to a surge to the top. See you all again next season folks, if anyone wants I will set up another league when the next season opens 😊

And congrats Cooking with Rice on winning the cup.

Well done Eddie

My DH lost his first place position by 1 point because his colleague used bench boost for the final day.

I might give it another go for the new season.

We could do one for the Euros, that would be stress free Grin

I’d be well up for doing one in the euros, might help to fill the football shaped void for a bit 😂

Tarkan · 20/05/2024 10:14

I kept forgetting to check my team but I beat DH so I'm happy with that. 🤣

Tarkan · 20/05/2024 10:15

Im so close to finishing my sticker book now, at the point where I'm just going to buy the missing ones online as it'll be cheaper.

Debating doing the Euros one, I mean Scotland will actually be in it so that's a good reason for me. 😁😂

burblish · 20/05/2024 11:49

Begrudging congratulations to the 115 club. All respect to Pep (genuinely) - Man City haven't been at their best this season but still won the thing.

As for how to get through the months before league action kicks off again: the Euros and Olympics will thankfully give me something to focus on this year!

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 20/05/2024 12:02

Congrats Eddie. My Dream Team started going to pot a couple of months ago, and never recovered.

Congrats too to 115 charges, but I'm proud we pushed them to the last day this time around, it feels like it's only a matter of time. It was those 2 games before New Year where we let ourselves down, but 2 games is enough in this league.

Definitely set up a Euros Dream Team. It's not as good, but you can still have some fun discovering players you may not have been aware of.

TheSleepingGiant · 20/05/2024 18:10

Congrats Eddie and Eboue. I'd love to join in next season. Despite finishing very close to the bottom this time I enjoyed taking part and the only way is up I hope Grin

MrsMitford3 · 21/05/2024 06:56

I saw that too @YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue

It is so disheartening. Kai Havertz was in tears after the game and I think knowing this must be awful for the players.
Just like the cyclists who raced Lance Armstrong it must feel so gutting to know you are competing against someone who is taking an unfair advantage/cheating and getting away with it whilst everyone knows it is happening.

I had forgotten that Pep had used banned substances as a played-it is relevant because it shows someone looking for an edge any way they can get it.

And Rhodri talking about our mentality when we had a better head to head results than they did is rubbing salt into the wound.
I think the City players know it's wrong so they try and justify it.

I hope someone brave enough to sanction them but it looks increasingly unlikely. So they get away with it and it will continue.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 21/05/2024 09:06

Well, they might have technically won, but they know that everyone knows that that they have cheated. They can say what they want but nothing will change that.

No-one was happy for them apart from their own supporters and I am sure that even they know that their "win" is tainted.

Hellohah · 21/05/2024 09:39

@MustTryHarderAndHarder

I don't think they've even properly celebrated haha!
Not sure if many understand the mentality of City fans if they're not from Manchester but it's hollow, even for them.

They know that the two things they crave the most in the world, the two things that are more important than the trophies, will never be achievable for City, and some will pretend it doesn't matter, but to them, it really does and they hate it.

Brefugee · 21/05/2024 09:47

well they won after 38 games with 91 points and Leverkusen won after 34 games with 90 points. So i know who I think is the better team 😁

Yes, I think that you are correct.

They were in Man U's shadow for decades and before the FFP charges I think that most other fans were happy for them even if their financial muscle upset lots of people. But I think people thought that it was important for the PL to have the best players.

But everything has changed now.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 21/05/2024 10:15

Actually, when I said that no-one else was happy for them, I forgot about Spurs fans!

More people watched Klopp's departure than them winning 4 in a row.
They will always be in the shadow of the greats (it burnt my fingers when typing that admission that Liverpool are one of greats) :(

Good to see Ethan Nwaneri in the England U17 squad for the Euros.

Not sure about those goalkeepers though...
