Poch to Bayern?

DuncinToffee · 21/05/2024 19:38

They consider a young manager as priority to replace him

Thought today was Kompany to Bayern rumour day

They are talking about McKenna (Ipswich Manager) being his replacement Confused

The England 17 game is a cracking one if anyone wants to watch. 4-0 up against France as it stands!

DuncinToffee · 21/05/2024 19:48

Tuchel is being mentioned as well

Yes, pleased I watched it. Nwanari's goal was brilliant as was Moore's second goal.

They all played really well.

The managerial roundabout has been so weird this season - relatively few sackings during the season (as compared to the ruthless axe-fests of the previous couple of years), but so many big clubs losing their managers at the end of the season, either by mutual consent (albeit who knows how mutual in actuality!) or after earlier announcements. I can't remember the last time (if ever) things played out in this fashion to this extent.

DuncinToffee · 22/05/2024 10:48

It's still being updated but this is a great thread

With the Premier League season now over and everything else winding down, I’ve compiled a thread of my favourite moments from the 2023/24 campaign.

It’s 140 odd tweets long so stick with me, I’ll start adding tweets to the thread in a few minutes.

Hopefully you enjoy it.

Enjoying dipping in and out of that thread as I get a moment!

Am watching (with half an eye) the Leverkusen vs. Atalanta match. Not sure what's going on with Leverkusen so far

DuncinToffee · 22/05/2024 20:29

Lookman is on fire

OP posts:
YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 22/05/2024 20:29

Vaguely on in the background - but 2 from Lookman!

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 22/05/2024 20:38

Atalanta definitely fully paid-up members of the awkward squad. The kind of team everyone hates to play against.

DuncinToffee · 22/05/2024 21:35

Lookman hattrick

tbh I'm surprised at 2-0 up with 20 minutes to go they were still trying to score.
So good on them for that. But poor ol' Leverkusen. It had to end sometime, but blimey, it's like watching Gladbach

DuncinToffee · 22/05/2024 21:45

Leverkusen defence is all over the place

First time I am watching them live, maybe it's me 😬

OP posts:

Deserved win for Atalanta

OP posts:
Brefugee · 23/05/2024 06:52

that Leverkusen would have been in the relegation zone if they'd played like that all season.
Still, their run was bound to come to an end, and from their they now have the German cup final on Saturday to look forward to. Opponents in the 2nd division so on paper it should be ok for them. I am rooting for the opponents.

West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta has been charged by the Football Association for allegedly getting booked deliberately "for the improper purpose of affecting the betting market".

The four charges relate to a Premier League game against Leicester City on 12 November in 2022, plus 2023 fixtures against Aston Villa on 12 March, Leeds United on 21 May and Bournemouth on 12 August.

FA Cup final on Saturday. Police have suggested different routes for fans of each club, fair enough.

Though why Man U fans should have to travel on the M40 seems strange as it goes nowhere near south London or other places where most of the 83% of non-Mancunians who have season tickets live.

Their chances of not being humiliated by Man City have increased as Harry Maguire is not playing.

Oblomov24 · 23/05/2024 22:15

I paid a tenner at work today to be in the euro's competition.

burblish · 24/05/2024 17:02

@DuncinToffee Shocking re Paqueta - I deeply hope it isn't true as it's utterly disgraceful if it is.

Speaking of disgraceful, pretty shabby of Barcelona to persuade Xavi to u-turn in April on his decision to leave at the end of the season, only to then sack him a month later.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 24/05/2024 21:00

Portugal were too good for us today (U17s). We played well in the first half but they were much better in the second and won 4-1.

Mikey Moore (Spurs) is a real talent.

DuncinToffee · 25/05/2024 12:22

According to Fabrizio Romano, Vincent Kompany to Bayern Munich is a done deal.
