Good to see Kane has taken the Sp*rs with him...

Nah don't like this.

Lots of posts recently have seemed to be dragging down, I've got twitter for that.

burblish · 18/05/2024 23:45

Kane has been brilliant for Bayern this season - Bundesliga Golden Boot AND European Golden Shoe in his first season in the Bundesliga is very impressive (and 36 goals is the fourth highest total ever in the Bundesliga - no shame whatsoever in being behind legends Gerd Muller and Robert Lewandowski in that list). Fingers crossed his back issues are cleared up before 16 June.

And there goes a gentleman

Edited

he really was lovely when he played at Gladbach as a youngster. He lived in our town, next door to one of my DDs besties when they were about 13. He used to play a bit of football and basketball in the street with all the neighbours kids. Always stopped to say hello etc.

He went a bit silly early on at Dortmund, but i think the club Had Words and he's been on the straight and narrow ever since.

Actually, an amazing final day in the Bundesliga in many respects: Bayer Leverkusen the first Bundesliga team to go through the season unbeaten; Bayern collapsing from being 2-0 up after 6 mins to lose 4-2 and slip to third place (but still with more wins and more points than they got when they won the title last season - which shows just how good Bayer Leverkusen have been!); Stuttgart astonishingly claiming second after being in the relegation play-off last season: Union Berlin pulling off a final day win to avoid the relegation play-off place on goal difference (congrats also to @Brefugee's beloved Gladbach for also avoiding the relegation play-off place despite losing today (sigh of relief!)).

we were obvs watching the (embarassing for us) Stuttgart match on TV. It was amazing when Hoffenheim went into the lead against Bayern so Stuttgart moved up to 2nd, such a roar around the stadium as the fans realised before the players.

@YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue - ouch. I think that's a bit below the belt. The Sky reporters were having a bit of a snigger about how he gets the Golden Cannon which is his old rivals' symbol (people here are VERY au fait with the ins and outs of the PL)

TheSleepingGiant · 19/05/2024 15:13

Crawley have beaten Crewe Alex 2-0 and go up into League 1! Well done to them and their lovely Manager Scott Lindsey.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 19/05/2024 15:29

Come on the Hammers!

Come on the Hammers!

🤞🤞🤞

I find it really weird that we could help decide the league winner. Hopefully a good match and we aren't just utterly humped. Fingers are crossed for an exciting last day for everyone.

⚒️

Tarkan · 19/05/2024 16:07

Well the crossed fingers didn't work very well. 80 seconds I think that took. Blush

3mTo be fair, you have to take your hat off to City.

They've become the dominant force in English football and all it took was completely ignoring the league's financial rules for a decade.

What a goal by Kudus there. We just need a few more corners to set us up nicely. Grin

Oblomov24 · 19/05/2024 16:52

1/2 time.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 19/05/2024 16:55

Oh, for goodness sake, don't start giving me the hope...

domineastronomy · 19/05/2024 17:51

Man City stats are ridiculous.

domineastronomy · 19/05/2024 17:53

Ooh last 5 mins are going to be interesting...

DuncinToffee · 19/05/2024 18:03

Didn't think we'd finish 6th after being in 10th for so long!

Oblomov24 · 19/05/2024 18:11

All good.

Tarkan · 19/05/2024 18:11

Quite a result for Palace today to have them finish in the top half of the table.

With the stats from that match I'm amazed it was "only" 3-1 against us. Areola pulled off some great saves.

It's been a fun season even if it's not always had the best results. Did I hear them say it's the highest scoring Premier League season?

9mI don't care what anyone says about Man City. 4 Premier League titles in a row is right up there with Lance Armstrong's 7 Tour de France trophies!

congrats to all who got good results, commiserations for everyone whose season wasn't so good.
Congrats to City on the championship.

So. What do we do until footy starts again?

DuncinToffee · 19/05/2024 18:58

Not fume about VAR blatant handball Grin There is still a promotion title and FA Cup final

Here is to all posters, cheers 🍻

Well I'm going to finish my degree (last assignment due on Thursday) and try to get myself enrolled on the Masters. 😁

I never did update that after many comments Arbroath told us they would be doing student season tickets at the same price as the pensioner ones. Not as cheap as last year but it's still better than full price (although I know our full price is still so much lower than what many other teams). And we have until the end of June to secure the same seats if we want them. My birthday is the start of July so I might ask for an early gift, I like the seatmates I have there. One of the directors' mother-in-law sits beside me with her sister and friend at the other side and there's a family in front with a couple and their two young kids plus the mum's parents and it's been lovely to see the kids growing up. Plus we're right behind the away dugout which is always great fun for winding up the away managers. 😁
