was at the German women's cup final in Cologne yesterday. It is a brilliant day out. The stadium is set among a load of public fields, a lake and so on, in front of the stadium there's a stage with a programme of music, cheerleading etc, and loads of small pitches are marked out and there are various age-groups of girls' football competitions going on (the semis and finals of each one i think) the winners of each one get a trophy presentation in the stadium during half time and everyone makes sure to cheer and clap. 44,000 so no small thing for those girls. it is a really good day out and a day all about the girls - it's now always held on Ascension Day which is a public holiday - it used to be the same day as the men's but this gives the women a day all for themselves.

Wolfsburg vs Bayern. And Wolfsburg won, again. 10th time in a row.

And then yesterday evening cheered Leverkusen on. Even though i don't like them (but ❤Xhaka & Hoffmann ❤) Spawny gits scoring in the dying seconds of a game. Again.

April was a good month.

Both our managers won Manager of the Month

cross everything for me please. Crucial match for Gladbach, if we lose we are looking at being in the relegation / promotion play off.

DuncinToffee · 11/05/2024 11:09

Sending positive vibes for Gladbach, just win!

2 hard games for us: today Eintracht Frankfurt playing to hang on to a Europa league spot. and the last match (away) against Stuttgart who are unexpectedly 2nd in the league and wanting to hang on to that. So i worry we are wholly dependent on the others below us. Who are all much more feisty than Gladbach.

DuncinToffee · 11/05/2024 11:20

It's just a horrible feeling isn't it, that knot in your stomach and trying to stay positive but being kind of resigned to the unthinkable happening.

I am so glad we don't have to go through that again this year.

Up the Gladbach

EddieHowesShithousingMags · 11/05/2024 11:38

Fingers crossed for the gladbach!!

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 11/05/2024 12:19

Give us a "B"...

DuncinToffee · 11/05/2024 17:17

The draw means Gladbach is safe, I think

And we finish our home season with a win!

Even if the PL has succeeded with their 17 point deduction, we would have been safe.

yes, thanks to our massive rivals Cologne winning, we're not being relegated.
Well done on the home win.
I'm just over here being relieved.

TheSleepingGiant · 12/05/2024 10:20

@Brefugee excellent news. Hopefully both your teams will have a better time of it next season Smile

Crawley are into the L2 play-off final after stuffing the Franchise 8-1!! An excellent result for football.

Brefugee · 12/05/2024 13:00

that's brilliant, well done Crawley!

AndNobbyDancing · 12/05/2024 14:15

Come on Saints

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 12/05/2024 18:26

Phew! Somehow we contrived to make Man Utd look good!

Presumably all in vain, as I'm sure the Sp*rs fans will be cheering every goal against them on Tuesday...

DuncinToffee · 12/05/2024 18:41

Maybe Dyche will play the kids next Sunday Smile

I would prefer Arsenal over Man City to lift the trophy.

Thanks, let's hope.

We also need Liverpool to beat Villa tomorrow so that Spurs have something to play for on Tuesday.

EddieHowesShithousingMags · 12/05/2024 19:01

Appreciate the helping hand from Arsenal today. Cup final for us on Wednesday but a draw will see us finish above Man U. However knowing us/Man U, we beat them, finish in 7th and they somehow beat City and beat us to Europe in any event 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣

6th has to still be our priority.

Unless Brighton can do is a favour against Chelsea midweek 👍🏻

No goals in either play-off game 😮

No, was disappointing, especially as sat through them both on such a lovely day.

Still feels like it is Southampton's to lose.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 13/05/2024 21:15

This is a bonkers game!

And you'd think VAR would have slightly higher resolution cameras!

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 13/05/2024 21:52

OK, that looked offside, but they wouldn't show it?

domineastronomy · 14/05/2024 08:58

Wonder if Spurs will have lost motivation now that their chance of CL is gone.
Shame if so- I was looking forward to a massively competitive match tonight.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 14/05/2024 09:07

Well, Sp*rs could still do it, but they can't if they don't win tonight. Wishful thinking

I guess everyone in North London is supporting the Totts tonight! COYS!
