After Hillsborough it always seems shocking to see the cages.

Brefugee · 02/05/2024 20:05

Yep. But I'm surprised at the confidence of that PP saying Germany has them. I've never seen it

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 03/05/2024 11:22

@Oblomov23

Probably best that he didn't watch yesterday.

I really wanted Spurs to win (as a Gunner) so that they had something to play for when they play City.

DuncinToffee · 03/05/2024 11:25

Sky is tonight showing the big relegation battle , oops it didn't quite go to plan.

Clattenburg leaves referee analyst role at Forest, something to do with that tweet?

Well I don't know if I'll be back at Gayfield next year. They're releasing season tickets on Monday, I haven't saved up as I thought I had more time as it was closer to my birthday (in July) last year. They also don't have student ones this year it seems so instead of £130 I would be £260. I'm glad I took my name sticker from my seat now. Sad

DuncinToffee · 03/05/2024 16:05

Sorry to hear that Tarkan, that is a lot of extra money to find.

OP posts:
MrsMitford3 · 03/05/2024 16:34

oh @Tarkan that is disappointing.

Will they sell out before you have a chance to save the difference?
Or can you buy on a match to match basis?

It's gutting when proper fans priced out!

Tarkan · 03/05/2024 16:49

Last year if you wanted to keep the same seat they did a presale type thing for current season ticket holders. No sign of anything like that this year. The seats go quickly as we only have one stand. I'm physically unable to stand up for a whole match so if I can't get a guaranteed seat then I likely won't be there for any matches at all. They're meant to be turning another enclosure into a seated stand but I don't know if that'll be done before the start of the season. We also hoped the price would go down after relegation but they've kept it the same as last year.

Brefugee · 03/05/2024 18:04

keeping the prices the same after relegation is a dick move. Can you call/email and ask about keeping your seat?

With ours they write after the end of the season and you have 3 days to decide if you want to keep it. If you say no or don't reply they ask the people on the waiting list.

Ours are EUR 420 (seated upper home end in the corner) and we were lucky that we had savings the first time we bought them. (that is the price for each) and every time we go to a match we chuck EUR 25 each into a money box so when we pay for them we can just go to the bank and put the money in.

EddieHowesShithousingMags · 03/05/2024 21:27

That’s shit Tarkan. Fingers crossed you can find the extra down the back of the sofa.

Newcastle have put ours up 5%. Think we’re now paying £729 each, I haven’t renewed yet but think we have until mid June to do it. You can pay over 9 months I think though if you don’t have it up front.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 03/05/2024 21:52

Gordon Bennett! My last season ticket renewal, 5 years ago was nearly £1200...

Hellohah · 04/05/2024 06:37

I paid my ST yesterday.
It's gone up £2 a game (so over 5%) £779 for next season.
DS gets 25% discount as he's under 21 but still a lot of money at £1363 for the 2 😭

I honestly can't understand the demand at United, they emailed us in February asking us to commit to renewing, if you didn't complete the form in time, they released your ST to someone on the waiting list. We have until 16 May to pay, and again if it's not done, they'll offer the ST to those on the waiting list on the 17th. I don't remember it ever being this intense for renewals.

There should be discounts for local people, both of them.

Have the club sorted out the issue of dead people still having season tickets? Family members pay, they use them.

Brefugee · 04/05/2024 08:55

how do they decide how many season tickets to sell? I save only about EUR 40 over a season so it's not as though they lose money on ours particularly.

For us (Gladbach), Stadium capacity is 54,042. Of that 5,000 can be allocated to Away fans (German footy loves away fans. Most clubs offer 5-10% capacity in the away end) that leaves 24k spots (we still have a large standing area, and some of the away is standing too). 30,000 of those are season tickets spread all around the ground. Cheapest is in the stand, it's around EUR 200 i think. A normal standing ticket is €17. I haven't been to Hillsborough for a few decades although i do know their ST are more than i pay for mine - and there won't be rebates if they get relegated to league 1 which i find horrendous)

Do me and DS make up the total 2 local people 😂😂😂

I think they have allowed those season tickets to be transferred to someone new, but they lose the years of loyalty (ST reverts back to red level?)

Not sure how it will work with multiple people using one ST as I believe from next season we need to use the app and each ST will be locked to one phone?

Feel sorry for the fans but not the owners.

If he still performs, more of an act for Jasper Carrott!!

I'm so pleased - I lived in Ipswich for a brief period as a child, so have always had a soft spot for the club.

Sheffield flippin' Wednesday had better never, EVER do that to me again. Congrats to all promoted. Commiserations to all relegated. Phew!

Th Sheff wed fans were fantastic today at the Sol @Brefugee. Loudest fans we have had there all season, sang throughout for their team. It was an awful performance from us but it was nice to see people enjoying themselves!

Brefugee · 04/05/2024 21:47

Thanks - sorry you lost but needs must! people are reporting that everyone was lovely pre and post match, coming up and talking to anyone in a Wednesday shirt. also the away fans had a collection for Bradley Lowery's foundation, so a good result all round.

But blimey. i am so relieved.
