@YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue omg Ben white's shithousery has risen to epic levels-bloody brilliant.

He has such a good temperament to deal with all the shit-I honestly love him so much.

Read a really interesting article saying the stuff about Rice's GF, Ben White's England thing etc are to try and destabilise us.

The shitty spurs fans singing behind Saka taking a corner "you let your country down" is unforgivable.

Delighted with the result today

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 28/04/2024 21:10

He's so laid back about everything! You're never going to wind him up.

And Saka just takes everything in his stride, he seems so down to earth.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 28/04/2024 21:55

I see at least one Gunner sneaked into the home end today...

Ooh that’s a fun way of doing the third spot.

It usually (but not always) happens that the higher league team wins. We have 3 Bundesliga divisions, and 5 regions (which makes it awkward) because there are only 3 places available for the winners of the regional leagues, they also have a play off. (unless they've changed that because it is deeply unfair)

But i deffo prefer it to potentially the 6 best in the league going up.

how do we feel about away fans in the home end?
I am very anti. Our tickets and stadium rules forbid it - but it didn't stop a chap sneaking his Dortmund supporting mate in - next to me, grr - a few years ago. He lept bout when they scored leading to all the beer being thrown at him from behind. I was drenched and told him to get the fuck out before i made him. And he started to argue until everyone around us just said "listen to the lady, lad"

A few weeks ago 3 lads were next to us for the Dortmund game. I clocked that 2 of them weren't singing our song, but they kept very quiet, and didn't celebrate the win or anything. But i can't let that shit go so just before we left i said to the one next to me "your mates don't look too happy considering their team won" he had a momentary look of panic before i said "don't do it again, i look like a cute little old lady but i'm not" 😁

But i think it's just really disrespectful.

burblish · 29/04/2024 12:15

@Brefugee I completely agree with you re it being very poor form for away fans to sneak into home stands. It's not cheeky-chappie or clever - it's disrespectful, dickish and, all too often, unnecessarily provocative.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 29/04/2024 15:07

I think it probably depends. I've been to a few European games where away fans have got hold of home tickets, but it's always been quite good natured and everyone got along. There have also been a couple of times when we've had Sp*rs supporters in with us, but they were obviously trying to cause trouble and got evicted by the stewards fairly quickly.

TheSleepingGiant · 29/04/2024 17:38

@Brefugee it happens whenever Gills play Millwall, however it's been a while since they've been in the same division so not an issue at this time thankfully as it gets really nasty. It is the one and only match I refuse to attend as I worry for my littlest.

Gillingham have sacked Steve Clemence after just 5 months in charge. He was a very passive Manager, which I personally don't like, (although he did receive his 1st yellow last Saturday), however I think he deserved another transfer window and see where they are at maybe 10 games in. I am hoping Andy Hess and Kenny Jackett follow him out as their recruitment has been diabolical really.
If rumours are to be believed at this stage, Gareth Ainsworth could be on his way......

Brefugee · 29/04/2024 21:07

don't get me wrong, i have no issue with away fans being in other stands than the away end, just not the actual home end.

burblish · 30/04/2024 12:50

Interesting news that 16 of the 20 current PL clubs have voted in favour of developing proposals for a spending cap. I wasn't surprised that the two Manchester clubs voted against but was slightly surprised that Villa joined them (Chelsea abstained). Of course, this was only a vote for a spending cap model to be created - it certainly doesn't mean that the required 14 out of 20 clubs would vote in favour of the model that is eventually put forward. Interesting nonetheless.

Hellohah · 01/05/2024 07:28

@burblish I'm the other way and surprised so many voted yes.

I thought it was a good idea to begin with, but when you read about the possibility of anchoring? That's a definite no from me.

LlynTegid · 01/05/2024 07:33

Looks like Ipswich will be in the Premier League next season. Given their manager was previously the Man U under 18s manager, I can see him getting some players to come to Ipswich who fit in with his style of play and didn't quite make regular starts elsewhere. Could see them being 16th or 17th next season.

MrsMitford3 · 01/05/2024 11:53

@burblish I feel like there will still be teams who find a way round it to cheat yes 115 I am looking at you.

There seems to be a trend of owners buying small teams-not EPL- and using them as development squads etc.
I am sure there will be just another way to cook the books.

Some very dodgy sponsorships etc from bottomless pits.
Which only stops some teams but def not all!!!

Brefugee · 01/05/2024 13:02

Is that letter from Nottingham forest that's doing the rounds on SM true?

MrsMitford3 · 01/05/2024 17:10

I haven't seen anything about it@Brefugee where have you seen it?

DuncinToffee · 01/05/2024 18:05

Is it the one about Chris Wood? I think I saw it but doubt it was real.

Something about their striker and match fixing?

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 01/05/2024 21:15

What a take down from Fulkrug!

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 01/05/2024 21:59

Do they still have cages at the stadiums in Germany? It looks like it! That seems ghastly.

Been enjoying the CL matches. Those stupid articles about DR girlfriend make me so angry. Also the BW England crap. But then I lost sympathy with BW re his Vicario "shithousery".

Son has been missing in action, also not happy with how passive he is as Captain, he needs to gee the boys up : 'come on boys, lets go'. (Exactly what I shout from the side-lines cheering ds2's matches). Maddison has been mia aswell since his injury. Ange keeps saying he doesn't want a separate set pieces coach, but it atleast needs to be addressed.

Spurs have Chelsea tonight, ds2 cant watch because I'm insisting he goes to the cinema to see Ralph Fiennes GCSE stage Macbeth. I took him to the theatre to see a poor version in Wimbledon last week, so he really doesn't want to go tonight and see it for a 2nd time. Bad Mum.

Brefugee · 02/05/2024 15:27

Never seen that. Let me check - maybe it"s because of the CL? We haven't had them in any of the grounds I've been to, not even in really "high risk" matches. That's quite shocking to me

Oblomov24 · 02/05/2024 18:27

France, Germany, Italy all have fences still. The yellow fans of Dortmund looked fab last night, crowd looked brilliant, bet the atmosphere was great. Fences aren't seen as such an issue, for many countries, the South Americans have them too still. Remember our history, re fences is different.

Brefugee · 02/05/2024 18:33

I go to football every week. I have been in various stadia all over Germany. I have never see those fences.
