@DuncinToffee Very happy for you-both because you beat Liverpool for us but also because of the very unfair points deduction so a win for football.

however those sentiments do not carry to the last game of the season, hope you are safe by then and you can relax

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 25/04/2024 23:14

That was appalling tonight! Brighton & Hove Actually were never going to get anything from the game, but the officiating was beyond biased! I don't think I've seen it as bad against Arsenal, and that's saying something!

Urgh, yet more Big Oil and dodgy state sportswashing - FIFA have announced a deal with Aramco (Saudi Arabian state-owned oil company) to sponsor both the 2026 Men's World Cup and the 2027 Women's World Cup. There is no end to FIFA's greed. For a Saudi state-owned company to sponsor a women's tournament in particular is extremely hard to swallow.

MrsMitford3 · 26/04/2024 12:41

My BIL in a fairly Senior football related sports job and works with FIFA.

He said it has gone right back to where it was under Blatter.
Which is terrible news for football.

Utterly depressing and the power is crushing all in it's path.

urgh. I'm already boycotting the men's. So now i have to boycott the women's too? arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

thevegetablesoup · 26/04/2024 17:19

Disgraceful but not unexpected from FIFA. Infantino seems even worse than Blatter.

Wonder if there will be a women Saudi team entering the competition.

Sad that this isn't just affecting international football either as the Saudi state now own an English PL club.

DuncinToffee · 26/04/2024 19:34

No surprise there from FIFA

La Liga apparently are going to play league matches in the USA from 25/26

It's all about the money

I expected Leicester to be promoted, just surprised at the way it happened.

thevegetablesoup · 27/04/2024 09:33

Yes amazing result for QPR vs Leeds in the championship. It's been brilliant to follow as a league this year.

So another competition for 115 Counts City to win every season...

DuncinToffee · 27/04/2024 13:06

Masters has now said that the 115 Counts City case will resolve itself at some point in the near future 🤔

Presumably with 115,000,000 notes in a brown envelope...

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 27/04/2024 13:14

We seem to have a livewire in the under 18s. 16 year old Chido Martin Obi has scored 5 in the first half against Norwich...

16-year-old Chido Obi-Martin's recent form for Arsenal Under 18s:

⚽⚽⚽⚽ vs. Crystal Palace U18s
⚽⚽⚽⚽ vs. Fulham U18s
âš½ vs. West Brom U18s
⚽⚽ vs. Brighton U18s
⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽ vs. West Ham U18s
âš½ vs. Aston Villa U18s
⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽ vs. Norwich City

24 goals in 7 games

I get the feeling he should be moving up to the U21s for more of a challenge...

DuncinToffee · 27/04/2024 14:54

Oh dear, Klopp and Salah 👀

Good result for West Ham

Watched the Liverpool / West Ham. Now watching Man U / Burnley.

Brefugee · 27/04/2024 18:02

I stayed away from my phone on purpose today, only for Mr Bref to come bursting into my sewing room to say 3-0. And i thought that's what Wednesday had lost by.

So from having 3 points in October when Danny Röhl came, praise be, we need a point next week to stay up. (hoping Sunderland roll over for us 🙃)

Gladbach still not save. Big 6 pointer against Union Berlin tomorrow. Having kittens.

DuncinToffee · 27/04/2024 18:23

Haha, that was me last Sunday when we played Notts Forest Brefugee

Fingers crossed for Gladbach

3 wins in 7 days and we are safe!!!!!!

We shall not be moved, premier league

And that's a wrap for Leagues 1 and 2. Gillingham had nothing to play for after losing last week, but produced an entertaining 2-2 draw with Donny this afternoon.
Disappointed not to have a potential trip to Wembley to look forward to, especially as we spent a lot of the season in the play-off places, but onwards and hopefully upwards next season. COYMG's Football

Great news, hopefully they win their appeal too Smile

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 27/04/2024 19:53

Well done Everton. I'm glad you stayed up. You've been in the top division nearly as long as we have.
