Well done to Italy looks like they are taken it home and the English have to go to work at normal time lol...

OP posts:

I just don't get why it's lol to take pleasure in other people's pain.

Plenty of arseholes out there. They have to live with their hate. Sad for them.

EarringsandLipstick · 12/07/2021 00:00

Italian cheats as usual.

Comments like this are ridiculous & paying England supporters in a poor light.

In the 2nd half, Italy had 79% possession. That's likely to lead to more decisions against them.

There was questionable behaviour from both sides, as so often in soccer. Calling the other side cheats is unfair.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 12/07/2021 00:01

No Gareth Southgate should not step down.
He's one of the very few England managers to get us this far.
I mean look at the managers we had before & the lacklustre England squad with John Terry, Wayne Rooney, even David Beckham, far too busy chasing women & cheating on their other halves, spending money like no tomorrow etc,
This England squad & their manager are a credit to our nation.
I think the only other manager who could have got us this far would have been Cloughie but unfortunately he was marmite, upset too many people & could be an absolute pain in the neck at times but he was genuine & cared probably the greatest manager England never had.

Wakeupin2022 · 12/07/2021 00:01

Anyways this is not a thread about Rangers or even Scotland........

Mymapuddlington · 12/07/2021 00:02

Hehe cry of dirty play from a team who got awarded a penalty from a dive that Tom Daley would be proud of last game.

Can people really not tell the difference between exaggerating a trip/fall and literally strangling or stamping on a player?! Ok neither are good but one is a hell of a lot worse.

Wakeupin2022 · 12/07/2021 00:02

No Gareth Southgate should not step down.

Then they wonder why they have not won a final in 55 years.

He is the best manager they have had for a long time.......

PiuVinoPerFavore · 12/07/2021 00:02

Also Scottish and was 50/50 on who I wanted to win. But to lose that way is gutting for the English and heart goes out to those 3 young men who missed their penalties. As for the hideous scenes of some English fans, they are the minority. They shame the team and the country but they do not represent the vast majority of decent English people supporting their team. Condolences English fans, the team did you proud.

Exactly this blaming the ref as your team didn’t show up in the second half. It’s pathetic each of the players who fouled got a card . Nothing cheating about it.
Scbchl · 12/07/2021 00:04

I'm Scottish and was rooting for Italy as my husbands Scottish/Italian. However, England played absolutely brilliantly throughout and it really is down to luck in penalties. It could of gone either way. They should be so proud of themselves and have the world cup to look forward to next year, which I'm sure will also be promising for them.

chaosrabbitland · 12/07/2021 00:05

im english , but im glad italy won , it was humiliating to watch the scenes at in london of arrests , half dressed men . litter everywhere , its an embarresment ,i dont feel any sense of patriotism at all and havent for years now .

Fandangoes · 12/07/2021 00:05

I guessed you were Scottish as soon as I read your post. The xenophobia and gloating from some Scottish people has really saddened me. That’s what is really pathetic, and all the shit ‘reasons’ I’ve heard for this poor behaviour. ‘It’s the press going on about 1966’ - of course the British press are going to talk about the last time a home team won, they would have made equal reference to the last time Scotland had won - if they had ever actually won! ‘It’s the fans floating and acting as though they have won before the match even started’ - that’s called support and don’t tell me that Scottish fans wouldn’t act in a similar way if Scotland ever managed to get to the final. I’m not saying ‘some’ English fans haven’t behaved badly but so have some Scotland fans

I’m not sure you know what stamping means . He was sliding into a tackle and the motion he couldn’t stop. If he stamped he would have been sent off. He couldn’t stop his slide it happens a lot during games I guess you don’t watch football much . The ref even used the video evidence to review and make sure he got his decision right .

I wasn't too impressed when 30k Tartan Army fans travelled from Covid hotshots to London and then spread it like wildfire when they got home.

Did it stop me supporting Scotland - of course it bloody didn't. I am a Scot no matter what.

Eskarina1 · 12/07/2021 00:07

Italy absolutely deserved to win, they were unlucky not to win in 90 minutes.

The foul on Sako was disgusting though. Completely blatant and risked really hurting him, for no reason whatsoever.

Can't believe we're already getting people saying Southgate should go. Only one country can win and we should celebrate what we have achieved not rip people down. It's unpleasant.

Ok, so you think the team deserved to lose because some people not within the team behaved badly? Do you apply this idea to all things in life?

iDent · 12/07/2021 00:09

I'm Scottish and so disappointed in how the Scots have behaved!! Absolutely rubbish and such bad sportsmanship.

England played well under immense pressure, those young lads did brilliantly and shouldered so much. I just keep thinking how all their mums would have felt seeing them in tears like that 😔

Wakeupin2022 · 12/07/2021 00:10

Fandnagoes

I don't condone the OP - she is bang out of order.

But really it can be extremely OT in the England / BBC camp.

There's support for a home nation and then there is the last 55 years when you are a non English Brit........

FootballisgoingtoRome · 12/07/2021 00:11

@HidingFromTheChildren you are an idiot reported

I reported too

They can’t put a lot of air time into a team that aren’t in the tournament though can they? I don’t think that imperialism. Or have I misunderstood?

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 12/07/2021 00:12

Yes I thought Raheem Sterling maybe did go down with a bit too much fuss in the Denmark game but the contact from the Danish player might have really hurt him or might have been been one of those tackles that hurt like buggery for the first few seconds then the pain goes & you end up feeling really silly.
Maybe Raheem did flounce a bit & personally as a ref I wouldn't have given that penalty to England in the Denmark game.
I like Raheem Sterling he's a good bloke but maybe that tackle really hurt at the time or maybe he was embarrassed he fell so bad & wanted to save face.
He wasn't malicious unlike the Italian side.
Yet I bet his Mum still told him off for making a fuss.

OppsUpsSide · 12/07/2021 00:13

Reported too it doesn’t deserve a response
