Well done to Italy looks like they are taken it home and the English have to go to work at normal time lol...

The Italian squad some of their tackles were assaults, pushing their luck to see what they could get away with.
Any England tackle that touched was accidental.
And to be totally impartial I did think England over egged some of Denmark's accidental fouls against them by England over dramatising their falls etc.
The Danes were gentlemen & played well. I thought they might win (but hoped they wouldn't)
The Italians were thugs.
I'd rather Denmark had won rather than Italy.
Btw I'm half Scottish, nearly half English & support both nations

@Wakeupin2022

Ha ha just reread. Horrid I agree with. Not wanting England to win- well that's pretty normal!
The men here are over the moon
FootballisgoingtoRome · 11/07/2021 23:47

Hehe cry of dirty play from a team who got awarded a penalty from a dive that Tom Daley would be proud of last game.

FootballisgoingtoRome · 11/07/2021 23:48

#DomesticViolence increases 26% when #England play. 38% if they lose.

OppsUpsSide · 11/07/2021 23:49

Ah ok so fouls on England not acceptable fouls on Italian players are fine got it

That’s an odd statement to make in response to the post you quoted. At no point did the poster say or imply that, putting words in other people’s mouths is a shitty attempt at undermining what they actually said.

Rangers fans were fighting each other in George Square the other month

Thugs everywhere

Yea I was sorry the Danes went out

Yes I recall Celtic attacked their own players bus too. Shocking behaviour

Hehe..

As a Scottish fan absolutely gutted for the young players who missed their penalties
Poor management decision from Southgate and where were the senior players ?

drpet49 · 11/07/2021 23:52

Italian cheats as usual. The player who stomped on Grealish should have been sent off.

Time for Gareth Southgate to step down. We scraped through to the final and his poor decisions cost us the game today:

Yeah the Scottish govt were really quite vocal about that in Scotland. Awful behaviour!

Surprisingly quiet about the recent behaviour of the Tartan Army and the spreading of Covid.......

Dreamstate · 11/07/2021 23:53

@FootballisgoingtoRome

Seriously, where did you see an England playing yanking a shirt and pulling players to their feet?

Why were 5 otslians players given yellow cards then compared to one to England

OppsUpsSide · 11/07/2021 23:53

Poor management decision from Southgate and where were the senior players ?

They did say their focus is the World Cup, that’s prepared them for penalties there!

Mymapuddlington · 11/07/2021 23:54

Really proud of the England team, held Italy off for 120 minutes despite players being strangled and stamped on. There’s always some bumps and drama but those fouls were disgusting and should have been red cards.
For a young team to do so well is brilliant.

And as for ‘in your face about it’ England as the home of football is passionate about the game and regardless we’ll all wave our flags and sing and have hope when we play. That’s not a bad thing!

Lonelycrab · 11/07/2021 23:54

Gutted England lost like that but the penalty scores reflected the match. Italy had the edge for most of the game.

Etorih · 11/07/2021 23:55

The English team did us proud. And congratulations to Italy as well.

ssd · 11/07/2021 23:55

@FootballisgoingtoRome, yes idiots did try to attack a bus carrying Celtic players and management, luckily the large police presence stopped anything happening.

Not quite on a level with George Square and police making 55 arrests

FootballisgoingtoRome · 11/07/2021 23:56

@Wakeupin2022 yes it seems strange the Scottish Gov didn’t mention the Scotland fans leaving a horrific mess in London . Or the thousands of them that caught Covid and then let it rip through Scotland

I just don't get why it's lol to take pleasure in other people's pain.
Charliebradbury · 11/07/2021 23:56

I live in Wales but I am English, just had to log out of fb due to all the gloating English hatred. It's strange cause I don't know a single English fan who gives that much thought to how Wales or Scotland do. I'm sure my dh will have a lovely day at work tomorrow listening to the "banter". It's odd cause they will rip into him about England losing but then come next season be back to supporting man utd.

MimiDaisy11 · 11/07/2021 23:56

Italy were the better team. I was sorry for the English players who lost penalties and it’s always a cruel way to go out. England also had their moments of dives etc so I don’t think it’s fair to say Italy got it through cheating. I mean Sterling’s penalty in the danish game was much dodger than anything the Italians did.

EarringsandLipstick · 11/07/2021 23:57

I'm not a soccer fan but watched tonight & got thoroughly into it.

I'm Irish, and wanted England to win (I've no truck with the anti-English sentiment in terms of sports that's all too prevalent here). However, Italy were the better team tonight, and on that basis I'm glad they won. England just didn't show up in the 2nd half.

But I felt desperately sorry for Rashford & Saka, and thought it was moving to see Southgate comfort them.

I think penalties are a brutal way to decide it. I feel really sorry for the team & genuine England fans. However, the booing & unsportsmanlike behaviour from the fans in the stadium was a disgrace. The booing as the first Italian player stepped up to take their penalty was shocking.

No not quiet the same level but the death threats they hung at Celtic park for the manager was just sickening .Also the police injured that night too awful behaviour .

It's not really strange.

Rangers = bad

Non Rangers = good

And then they wonder why there are problems!
