Hello all. No prizes for guessing who I support for the cup. Grin

DH is British, so supports all Home Nation teams, but we live in Scotland so I guess that's number 1 for him. (He grew up in England, so that's a close second.)

For this match I support Fiji. Alas they're not giving me much to support right now.

There has been an incredible number of penalties. We're about 15 minutes behind, so that's been helpful for fastforwarding to catch up!

LovelyFriend · 18/09/2015 20:41

Nadolo Blush

GrouchyKiwi · 18/09/2015 20:45

Shock OK, I'm behind, but how can he take back an awarded try? What if the conversion had happened?

SCANDAL.

New Rules?

Languid Grin

beautiful kick Nadolo

GrouchyKiwi · 18/09/2015 20:49

I feel a lot better now. Grin

helmetcat · 18/09/2015 20:51

Half welsh, so supporting Fiji Grin DH's home nation is playing tomorrow, we may support the other side as he's supporting England far too much for my liking today! Sweet sweet rewenge!

GrouchyKiwi · 18/09/2015 20:51

I really hate it when they update the Laws and I'm not aware of it. I should probably have had a quick check so I don't yell at the TV as much as I have been.

CordeliaFrost · 18/09/2015 20:53

Unless they're playing England or USA, I cheer on the other home nation teams, I've never got cheering against other home nation teams.

LovelyFriend · 18/09/2015 20:54

at half time I realise my real WC priorities are:
Mighty All Blacks
Pacific Island Nations
then my adopted nation England

Cordelia I (and many others) rate d to follow the 'anyone but England' route, it's not mature admittedly....

Luckystar1 · 18/09/2015 20:57

Err that should say 'tend to' bloody phone

CordeliaFrost · 18/09/2015 20:59

I just think it's a shame, I'd much rather see another home nation team to win, then I would another country's team.

Unless that team was USA, which is not going to happen any time soon! Grin

Luckystar1 · 18/09/2015 21:01

I know, secretly I support England but last out of all the home nations... I just can't let it go!

gingercat02 · 18/09/2015 21:01

Me too Lucky and Cordelia Blush

Thanks, Ego.

That link says they're trialling new laws for the TMO. And though the laws specify that a referee may alter a decision if a touch judge raises a flag for touch or foul play, there's nothing about changing an awarded try. So I guess it could make for interesting discussion, pretty much all rendered moot by the fact that Fiji scored straight away.

BeBesideTheSea · 18/09/2015 21:13

Evening all. Just catching up on MN at Half Time. We also celebrated the start of RWC with a curry. Smile

GrouchyKiwi · 18/09/2015 21:16

Nice close up on Nadolo. He is an impressive specimen of a man. Blush

MrsTrentReznor · 18/09/2015 21:19

I've eaten too much curry... Sad
There's enough left for half the team!
Barritt can sit next to me! Grin

LovelyFriend · 18/09/2015 21:25

He sure is.

GrouchyKiwi · 18/09/2015 21:25

Arg. The curse of the scrum attacks again. I remember when they used to be exciting.

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 18/09/2015 21:26

I'm watching. Got tickets to see Scotland v Japan on Wednesday. DH is Scottish and we live in Gloucester so had to go (although tickets were like gold dust!).

Enjoying the match. Had a good discussion here on the try for Fiji being taken away after being given (should have let them have it once ref decided we reckon).

Back to the match...

LovelyFriend · 18/09/2015 21:28

Ego I agree about rugby crowds.
I've supported NZ at Twickenham surrounded by England fans a few times now and it's always been a wonderful experience. No hassle, good humour, camaraderie.
