Anyone up for a World Cup thread? I'm Irish living in England but Green all the way Shamrock Wine

Oh yay! I love to see a breakaway try.

vvviola · 19/09/2015 16:08

Me too Grouchy, even when it is against Ireland. Other than the keeping-the-peace arrangements I have with DH, my system is:

Ireland
All Blacks
Wales
Scotland
And then whoever is the underdog (and to be fair, depending on the game, I may support the underdog against Wales or Scotland too)

Moln · 19/09/2015 16:11

My system is England first, then the underdog in all other matches.

Pleased Canada have scored in this. Hate seeing big score v nothing.

gingercat02 · 19/09/2015 16:24

Good start from Ireland. Glad Canada scored. Well back to reality better get dinner on

Ooh this is exciting!!!

I was out and listening to this on the app so came home to watch.

WeShouldOpenABar · 19/09/2015 17:49

Cmon Japan I'm tickled at the thought of them winning. Don't think Ireland are playing great despite score Sad

dayslikethis · 19/09/2015 18:05

Ireland all the way. The green jerseys are out in force in our wee household in the north east of scotland today.

Other than Ireland it would be RSA for me and then I guess I would have to support Scotland because it's my adopted home, but in reality there isn't any point because they're pish.

Whoever is playing against either England or the frogs obviously also get my vote Wink

Moln · 19/09/2015 18:06

Sexton played well!!

dayslikethis · 19/09/2015 18:07

It may have been made originally for the 6nations but the sentiment still stands Wink

honeysucklejasmine · 19/09/2015 18:33

This is a bit tense, eh?

Moln · 19/09/2015 18:37
honeysucklejasmine · 19/09/2015 18:41

Oh my gosh, come on Japan!

muddlingalongquitenicely · 19/09/2015 18:43

I just screamed and scared the dog!

honeysucklejasmine · 19/09/2015 18:45

Oh my gosh! Even sports phobic DH cheered!

Ohh wow - well done Japan! What a try.

And we've still got one more match tonight - plus I've still got the Tonga match to watch - we were off collecting ddog2 from the vet hospital. She's had her third big orthopaedic op of the year - she had ruptured both crucuiate ligaments, so had two ops to deal with that - and was on cage rest from early January for nearly 4 months.

Now she's dislocated her kneecap, and has had another operation, to move a bit of bone and the muscle attached to it, to put her kneecap back where it belongs and keep it there.

She's now on cage rest for another 6 weeks, which means I am pretty much on house arrest (I can go out for a short time but it feels mean to leave her in the cage on her own if I was out for hours) - so I shall have to stay at home watching the rugby!

vvviola · 19/09/2015 19:21

DH and I are out for dinner. A rare night out. I've been refreshing the phone constantly getting the Japan score. we may have both cheered in a quiet restaurant at the end Blush

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 19/09/2015 19:26

Well Scottish DH now slightly concerned for Wednesdays game against Japan to which we have tickets ... BOAST

Bloody well done though Japan!

GiddyOnZackHunt · 19/09/2015 19:30

The DC told me to stop shouting in the last quarter of RSA v Japan :) In fact DD got confused and appeared to ask if Wales were playing because I only usually shout that loud then
