pulling my hair out trying to book tickets atm

trying to book - tickets have got through to the requesting stage but time waiting varies between 7 mins then goes back to at least 15 ...I am wasting my energies are there any likelihoods of getting tickets????

My mantra is currently, if at first you don't succeed, try and try and try and tery and try and try and try and try and try and try and try and try and try and try and try and try and try......

Well I am sitting in the park live bit (boxing, urgh... That's why I'm on MN ) watching empty seats in the riverside arena. We have been all over asking for returns... One fed up volunteer told us they were sold out which is clearly not true. Sat refreshing the tickets site to try and get some more this afternoon. We have come all the way from Newcastle this morning in the hope of getting £5 tickets, as advertised on the news, from those who leave early. Now we have to fill time before 7pm.

I am glad we got something but it leaves a bitter taste to see so many empty seats when we have come so far and would willingly pay.

Thanks :) we have to leave halfway through to catch our train home as we live so far away... Would have been great if we could have recycled our tickets for others, especially after we paid £65 for them... It's a shame it is a barcode system because thanks to the Internet I could probably have found a MNer already here who would want the second half

Ticketing is a farce, I agree. It does grate slightly too that they are offering tickets to people already there so cheaply. Why can they not offer them online for £10 or £20 ?

I would have happily paid half for the other half of your tickets !

I know. If you put in Monday to Friday it gives you 6 events.

Put in Mon - Weds and you get 12.

It's horrible though. You daren't leave it alone or log out in case you miss something.

I think the Ticketing system is a good as you are going to get. The problem is simply that demand massively outstrips supply. Although the tickets are really expensive there are still lots of people wanting to buy them. It's a lottery, but one where you can improve your odds by persevering.

The empty seats are mostly the ones 'given' to the olympic family. That is what sucks not the ticketing system. Over half the tickets to the prestige events are given to sponsors, dignitaries and other 'family' members.

And already I'm fed up. 2 sets of handball tickets have literally come up but when you click on it it has a limit of 0. Whats the point?

I am just about on the cusp of giving up.

But I know I wont be able to resist checking later, or tomorrow morning....

I have to change at Stratford for my commute to work. I'm getting proper Olympic envy when I see all these happy excited people going off towards the Olympic Park. And I've tried for tickets in every ballott.
