you don't need to subscribe to twitter to see that feed.

HalfSpamHalfBrisket · 10/08/2012 18:27

Whooooooooooooo!!!
Just got tickets for the modern pentathlon on Sunday! I had being trying to get tickets for the athletics tonight with no joy; but just got 2 for this instead. We get to see fencing, swimming and horsey stuff - all day events (inc olympic park access) for £75 each so I'm v happy as I thought I'd completely dipped out. raaaaah!

LeeCoakley · 10/08/2012 18:39

Woohoooooo from me too!!!!! Finally after WEEKS of trying to get ANYTHING in the Olympic park I've got Hockey for tomorrow! I won't know what to do with myself not having to be welded to the laptop 24/7 Grin

BlisdergamesbeginPack · 10/08/2012 18:53

I got Hockey too LeeCoakley! And I could echo your whole post, I'm giddy with happiness here Grin.

HalfSpamHalfBrisket · 10/08/2012 18:58

Well done Lee and Blis!
I have also been welded to the computer. Am working out whether to have a celebratory drink but don't want to drive down tomorrow feeling shoddy.

Whoooooooo again!!!!

LeeCoakley · 10/08/2012 18:59

It's doubly exciting because we can watch the final athletics events on the big screen in the evening! Oh, I'm so excited!!!! Well done on being successful, it's such a great feeling!

HalfSpamHalfBrisket · 10/08/2012 19:05

That will be fab Lee - the atmosphere in the park looks amazing at night.

BlisdergamesbeginPack · 10/08/2012 19:05

Oh my! I hadn't even thought of that!
[dies of too much excitement] Grin

exexe · 10/08/2012 19:15

Well done! I can't even request tickets today!

exexe · 10/08/2012 19:26

I take it the drop happened around 6.15 today?
I've got no chance have I :(

DebiTheScot · 10/08/2012 19:39

exexe there wasn't really a drop today. Just 1 or 2 at a time with slightly more around 6 than the rest of the day.

One thing that I've learned in this process though is that I don't think you need to get those weird twisted words right when you log in. I'm sure several times I haven't typed exactly what it says and have still got through.

exexe · 10/08/2012 19:42

oh good. I'll carry on refreshing this pm.
I'm sure I get those words wrong too. A few times I've requested tickets and its asked me to sign in all over again! Argh! theres no chance after that!

TheDoctrineOfEnnis · 10/08/2012 19:45

You need to get the one that isn't a real word right. The other is not crucial, I think.

LeeCoakley · 10/08/2012 19:48

exexe - you are timed out after a period of inactivity so you have to keep signing in. Every 10 minutes or so you should request a ticket (usually closing ceremony £1,500 tickets are available), sign in, and then remove the ticket from your basket. That way you will be ready for your chosen tickets when they come up! Good luck!

HalfSpamHalfBrisket · 10/08/2012 19:50

exexe, what I did was select 'dummy' tickets every now and again - ie, put a £1500 closing ceremony ticket in your basket and click 'request'. You then do the 2 mangled words, then go on to request the tickets. Whether they are available or not, then remove them from your shopping list.

This means that when you then apply for the tickets you do actually want, you do not have to do the mangled words security step again, so you get in the queue faster.
I was doing this every 15-20 minutes to make sure I wasn't being logged out.

This worked, eventually (...sad wizened thing that I am after 4 days solid sat pressing 'refresh' every 5 seconds....).

HalfSpamHalfBrisket · 10/08/2012 19:50

cross post. and much more succinct from Lee!

exexe · 10/08/2012 19:52

Thanks! Wish me luck Smile

BlisdergamesbeginPack · 10/08/2012 21:06

So what time are you all going there then? Our hockey tickets are from 8.30 am, so what time should we aim to be there? What happens if we get there after the start time?

And to those who got tickets this PM, did you get the Print at Home tickets yet? We haven't and the Contact Us option isn't working either.

TheDoctrineOfEnnis · 10/08/2012 21:16

Print at home should have come through within 30 mins or so of the confirmation email - did you get that email?

Have you checked your spam folder just in case it has routed there?

LeeCoakley · 10/08/2012 21:24

We are leaving home about 9.00 and hope to get to the box office at Stratford by 10.00. Didn't know about print at home, do you have to specify that? Don't really mind that we are going to miss some of it and there's no way I can get my lot there by 8.30!

bisjolympics · 10/08/2012 21:26

Some tickets had a print at home option but others didn't. We've booked Paralympic tickets for two events the same day. One we could print at home the other we have to collect or pay for delivery.

TheDoctrineOfEnnis · 10/08/2012 21:27

Yes you could choose print at home or collect, collect is the default choice and I think it was on one of the timed screens so not surprising you missed it!

Other posters have said that the queues to pick up tickets have been ok.

BlisdergamesbeginPack · 10/08/2012 21:55

Got the confirmation email straightaway but no Print at Home thing yet. The Conact Us link in the confirmation screen isn't working either Hmm. Getting worried now. I suppose we could take the confirmation email and with the card we used to pay they should be ok to give us the tickets at the Box Office there.

We got the £45 hockey tickets. Do you know if they are reserved seats with numbers?

BlisdergamesbeginPack · 10/08/2012 21:58

Ok just checked under My Account and there are seat numbers.

LeeCoakley · 10/08/2012 22:00

If you click 'expand' on your shopping list it gives you the seat numbers. If you are collecting from the box office they say take some photo id, not sure how stringent that is. I'm hunting for my passport as we speak!
