trying to book - tickets have got through to the requesting stage but time waiting varies between 7 mins then goes back to at least 15 ...I am wasting my energies are there any likelihoods of getting tickets????

I got two £65 tickets for water polo last night, don't give up. I tried for days and yes it takes ages to get to the end just to be told there are none, but 2.5 million people are trying to buy every day so it's bound to be busy.

We got 3 £20 tickts for the basketball tomorrow a few days ago. It really is just luck, and hitting refresh repeatedly so that you see when the tickets come up.

Keep trying!!!! - we got 4 x hockey tickets at 10pm on friday night for the evening game Saturday. They were the second from bottom in the pricing.

We had been trying for the last four nights constantly much to my frustration with that bloody website, Dh even got up at 4am to try.

We had the most fantastic and amazing day! But we were still surrounded by empty seats grrrr.

tip if you do get last minute tickets you will have to print them yoursel at home. The only problem with this is that they can't scan them at the gate so bar code numbers have to be keyed in manually into the palm scanners.

What's the games travel card? Have I missed something?

With every Olympics/Paralympics ticket you buy, you get a zone 1-9 travelcard included for free. I suppose it is to save 80,000 people queuing up at stations buying tickets!

No you can't print the travelcard. It says you collect it from the venue, which is pretty useless. You'll have already paid to get there and it won't save you anything as most singles are nearly the price of a return unless you are travelling at peak weekday times.

Make sure you get special games rail fares - they are heavily discounted and can be used with other railcards.

Keep trying the website at different times. My DH has just got a ticket for the athletics!

Hi, my dh checked at our local station and the ticket officer said that you can just show your e-mail confirmation of tickets and they will swap for the free train ticket. Haven't tried it out yet as our football tickets are for Monday, but will let you know if it works!

Can you get tickets to get into the Olympic Village without having an event ticket?

The olympic park is very, very crowded and only one big screen (although you can see it from two places), drinks are very expensive take your own sandwiches and empty bottles for water.
There is no shelter from rain or sun.
But the atmosphere is fantastic and watching a gold being won is a million times better in the crowd
It is ten pounds to get in but sell out fast (there's a surprise)

thanks. I haven't tried to purchase Olympic tickets before. Do you have to go through each sporting event to know whether tickets are available? I realise you can only choose upcoming events!

I have been just selecting venue (as DP specifically wanted Olympic Park tickets) and then F5 a lot to refresh choices.
