I'm trying to get rid of a 10 year old verucca. I can't tell if it's going well or not. Wtf is going on! It hurts! I have a hole in my foot!!

That looks sore

Threetulips · 01/06/2022 20:32

You can get blister plasters or the freeze stuff - bit when I did DD’s the more surface that came away it was more apparent that it was a cluster rather than one.

Keep going at it. If it’s big and dee it will leave a hole - it will get better though

Threetulips · 01/06/2022 20:33

The white bits are dead skin - try removing it so it has less place to go

Basilbrushgotfat · 01/06/2022 20:43

10 years?

Have you seen a doctor as it could be indicative of something wrong with your immune system?

Alternatively, a friend had one which lasted for years, he finally got rid of it when he resorted to acupuncture - it suddenly cleared up.

MsChatterbox · 01/06/2022 20:44

I've asked a couple of doctors and all they've said is because they usually go away by themselves the NHS won't do anything about it... Maybe I will try again though..

Nothing wrong with at least a white cell blood count

HairyBum · 01/06/2022 20:46

Apply tea-tree twice a day and after a fortnight it should turn black and fall off

hugoagogo · 01/06/2022 20:47

Ime veruccas usually leave a bit of a hole, but that is ginourmous Shock

Basilbrushgotfat · 01/06/2022 20:48

Also if you have no luck with doctors, then try a podiatrist

Floralnomad · 01/06/2022 20:50

Get a chiropodist to deal with it .

TokenGinger · 01/06/2022 20:52

This is delightful. More helpful sporners will be along soon, but in the meantime, I am here for the photos.

MsChatterbox · 01/06/2022 21:00

Should I be trying to dig it out? Or just keep treating it and let it fall out?

If you pull it out it will hurt and bleed like fuck, then heal like it was never there.

Oh god. I tentatively tried to pull it out and it hurt so much so I gave up. I'm not sure I have the guts. It did start to bleed so I chicken out...

Ahhhh no helpful advice but reminiscent of the time I lost patience with a years-old verruca after softly-softly treatmefrom various chiros, and ripped the fucker out with my teeth (ball of foot and I was more flexible then). It was about your stage, left a huge crater and bled like a bastard - I went out with a sanitary pad in my shoe. Happy days...

Eddmr · 01/06/2022 21:06

Blood is good. It will kick in your immune system to kill it off.

I knew I came to the right place. I tried 111 and they actually asked me what a verucca is...

Oh Jeez... How painful was it to do that? I think I need to mentally prepare for a few days 😬

There's actually another one to the right if you guys can see it. So still have that to deal with!

I had an enormous 8yr bastard verruca.

I did banana, duct tape, pickles ointment, black nail polish, all the otc stuff, witchcraft etc.

In the end it was 2 months of the scholl pen and now it's gone!

milkandhoneyy · 01/06/2022 21:20

Go to a private chiropodist. Verruca removal isn't expensive in my experience. Hope you get it sorted!

Bobbybobbins · 01/06/2022 21:22

Wow that is a big one! My DS literally chewed one off his own foot when he was 2 🤢

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 01/06/2022 21:22

I use Bazooka and file off every other day and pull out with tweezers. Blood is good as pp said!
