Dd 10 has had a massive verruca under her big toe for over 3 years. GP said it would go of its own accord... it hasn't gone.
A few weeks ago she said it was hurting when she walked so I have decided to wage war on it.
So far we have tried soaking, filing and covering with a plaster, then soaking, filing and covering with duct tape for more than a fortnight but it made no difference.
Next weapon... Bazuka.
After 3 days, it look absolutely hideous....

Oooh good work Op!

YesIDoLoveCrisps · 17/03/2021 20:39

Here’s my sons. It’s turned ‘stringy’ in the middle but the strings go really deep into the foot.

HermioneWeasley · 17/03/2021 20:43

Wow @YesIDoLoveCrisps that’s a beast! I hope it falls out in one go and is really satisfying

YesIDoLoveCrisps · 17/03/2021 20:46

It’s going to leave a massive hole. Does the hole just go back to normal after does anyone know?

My sons went back to normal pretty quickly.
HandlebarLadyTash · 17/03/2021 21:37

I had a go with GLUTAROL (along with bazooka, silver nitrate pen, corn removers, verrugon) it was the last remedy I tried & the bastard is now gone. Took years to get rid

Yes.

My DD8 had one that I treated with Apple Cider Vinegar.

The whole thing turned black and then pushed itself out of her foot. It was bigger than a coco pop and rock hard.

Left a hole the same size as it. But the hole did go. Lovely clear skin there now.

devuskums · 18/03/2021 08:00

@YesIDoLoveCrisps wow that looks like it is fighting to stay. Dds v went like that, we really worked the gel into all the gaps and it went flat again. Keep going!!

@AmongUs how is the verucca doing?? I can't remember if it's yours or your child's?

OP posts:
AmongUs · 18/03/2021 20:30

It's on DS's foot and I just filed it. Overdid it I think as I can see raw skin underneath. Area seems to be getting bigger and wider not sure if treatment is actually working.
Why is this such a long process

AmongUs · 18/03/2021 20:36

@devuskums how is your DD's verruca doing?hope bazuka is working

Twinkie01 · 18/03/2021 20:47

I've never had one but my sister did. My dad soaked them and then got a pin and picked all the little black dots out and they went. 🤷🏻‍♀️

DH has a monster, it's very very painful and he has tried all sorts, spent hundreds on the bloody thing with freezing then a lady coming to the house once a week to put acid on it, then stronger acid and it's still there.

Am reading with interest.

devuskums · 18/03/2021 21:03

@AmongUs I sanded a little too enthusiastically and had to leave it alone for a couple of days!
I think they do shrink and grow, yesterday dds looked very small, today it looks twice as big...

Ewanthescreamsheep · 18/03/2021 23:28

If you tire of the bazuka, I used wart away on dd's cluster of about 6 small verrucas. It took 4, weekly applications, and they each formed a scab and peeled off.

SirSamuelVimes · 19/03/2021 09:10

Those who have monster ones that are resisting all other treatments, I highly recommend a podiatrist who can do the swift treatment. I had a evil bastard verruca that refused to budge for a decade. Swift is supposed to work after three treatments and mine took ten but it did go! Luckily I had a podiatrist who saw the whole thing as a grudge match Grin and refused to be beaten as I was the only client it hadn't worked perfectly for, and he did the all the treatments for the original £300 I paid. Expensive but worth it. He told me that over the counter treatments like bazuca have about a ten percent chance of working completely, freezing about a fifty percent chance and swift about an eighty percent chance.

devuskums · 19/03/2021 20:05

I think there are less blood vessels there now. But it may be wishful thinking

I haven’t RTFT so apologies if repeating. I used that freezey stuff on DS’s - applied religiously for a couple of weeks and then he knocked it accidentally and it partly came away so I excavated it very carefully and pulled out the astonishingly long stringy root. But I had one of my own which was so deep that I had to see a podiatrist who killed it in about four sessions.

devuskums · 19/03/2021 20:23

@Lostmyunicorn I am now living for the day I can get hold of the root, thank you! I promise a pic when this happens...

Blimey. That crisps nipple one is impressive. Op are you concerned that yours isn't really coming out. It seems to have shrunk, but where is the core.

BionicEar · 19/03/2021 20:33

For years I had a hideous one on my foot. Tried all sorts of treatment nothing worked.

I started using The Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Revealing Liquid Peel on it whilst trying to treat my feet and accidentally discovered it worked on removing it after a couple of weeks of using it daily on my feet.

It also did the trick for one of my DC when they got one a couple of years later. I recommend it to anyone I know now if the usual treatment doesn’t work.

The photo is of my foot when started using it and then a few weeks later. You cannot see where it was at all now.

One of my favourite memories as a teen is finally squeezing out a verruca like a giant stubborn blackhead. Hurt like buggery and took ages but so satisfying.

Thanks for sharing! Got to think outside of the box in order to defeat these pesky nuisance beings. I think I will try this next as I have finished 4 rounds of the scholl pen and then it's says to consult a doctor which I did. Doc said perhaps see a chiropodist but verruca's take months to disappear.
fireplaceburning · 19/03/2021 23:02

Is it wrong that I'm missing my verruca and want one to have to attack again 🤣

devuskums · 20/03/2021 00:03

@Oblomov21 not worried yet, we have been a bit lapse this week with the applications. Need to get back to doing them every day!
