Use to get spots on my chin. I was told to clean my teeth before washing my face, rather than cleaning my teeth last. It has worked, and I don’t tend to get the chin spots anymore.

Best beauty tip I was given was to make ice cubes out of rice water. Then pop into a muslin bag and rub over your clean skin. Leave for 10 minutes then moisturise as normal. Alternatively just use the rice water as a toner.

One of my friends recommended using a silk pillowcase which I was quite sceptical of, but it has really improved my skin as well as the condition of my hair!

To colour-match foundation to neck and jaw rather than back of hands. So many staff on beauty counters are doing it wrong - can be completely different coloured skin! My skin looked SO much better once I was matching it properly (and putting foundation on my face AND neck)!

Wear sunscreen in all weathers. Sun is the biggest factor in premature ageing and it is caused by UVA rays. UVB rays make you tan and are a risk in sunny weather whereas UVA rays are present even on the gloomiest days. So sunscreen must be on always, both outside and inside, as well as in the car, as UVA rays can penetrate the windows too.
I have been wearing sunscreen religiously and my skin is absolutely fantastic at nearly 46.

Nipple cream makes the best lip balm

ALWAYS do your blusher upwards from your cheekbone to LIFT the face. I used to apply blusher in the centre of my cheeks which made me either look embarrassed or as though I had gobbled 20 minced pies. Always lift. This blusher has amazing reviews and I love the dewy look - this would be my chosen item.

In Bloom | Radiant Liquid Blush

In Bloom is a hydrating liquid blush that glides effortlessly onto the skin, giving cheeks an instant lift and dewy pop/flush of colour. A weightless, water-based liquid colour, that’s quick and easy to use, it creates a fresh-faced natural looking rad...

Smile.

Best tip I learned (far too late in life) was to choose a concealer in a shade lighter than your foundation to brighten the under eye area and add a bit of contour in other areas.

I'd probably purchase one of the gift kits to try a few of their products.

SamwiseTheBodyguard · 04/03/2025 19:20

Best beauty tip I've ever had was to sleep with my hair in a silk bonnet. I stick my hair up in a lose ponytail with a silk scrunchie, pop my silk bonnet on and the next day I take them off, brush my hair through and my hair looks amazing. Can't believe I lived with awful morning hair for so many years 😭

If I won I'd love to try out the Colour Blush on Clementine, or maybe the cream lipstick in Wild Rose with a matching lip liner because you can never have too many lipsticks!

Moisturise twice a day. I have done this all my life, regardless of other things, and my skin is not as wrinkly as my younger sisters' skin.

ladymalfoy45 · 04/03/2025 19:22

Cleanse,tone, moisturise.
Always remove make-up before bed.
Don't share eye make up of any kind.
Don't use other people's foundation or make up brushes.
F50 sunscreen.
Wash make up brushes every week.
Eyes or lips . Choose what you enhance.
Match hair accessories to your hair not your outfit unless it's your wedding or special event.
There will always be someone younger and more attractive than you in the room but you have knowledge and life experience and have followed a path unique to you.

Bronze/brown eyeliner really brings out the colour of green/Hazel eyes. My favourite is barrym.com/collections/eyeliner/products/kohl-pencil-bronze

Add a few tanning drops to your moisturiser. It means you look healthier before applying makeup and need less foundation.

LemonBossy · 04/03/2025 19:54

@Cotswoldmama
Oh I like the look of those too!

DinkyDaffodil · 05/03/2025 06:52

A silk eyemask to aid with sleep, and to lessen fine lines around my eyes.

Coaster1 · 05/03/2025 07:11

best tip: drop the black eyeliner
it’s so ageing and there are some fabulous charcoal and brown alternatives out there

Delilah Lip Saviour is first on my list if I win!

LemonBossy · 05/03/2025 07:34

The silk pillowcase both for minimising wrinkles and for helps curls stay curly 😊

pushchairprincess · 05/03/2025 10:31

Best tip, use a lip liner before applying lipstick for a defined lip.
