Created for Zapp

Whether it’s loo roll for the hundredth time or the bottle of wine you were really excited for, we want to know the items you need, but always forget to buy at the supermarket.

  • Post your items in the thread below to be entered into a prize draw
  • One lucky MNer will win a £200 voucher for a store of their choice
Here’s what Zapp has to say:

“Run out of nappies at 3 in the morning? Haven’t had time to go to the shops to pick up dinner? Or simply just need a glass of wine after a long day? Zapp is here to save the day.

Choose from over 2,000 curated items, delivered in 20 minutes or less, with no minimum order value and free delivery over £30. You look after the kids, let Zapp look after you.”

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

biffyboom · 16/02/2022 22:43

Specific foods the children ask for that I've promised I will remember to buy, because they like to ask when I'm busy in the middle of doing something.

CTR1000 · 16/02/2022 22:47

Bin bags. Always bin bags!

Blueberry40 · 16/02/2022 23:41

Kitchen roll, bread, toothpaste, stock cubes and herbs/spices.

gggrrrargh · 17/02/2022 06:09

Toothpaste and shampoo/conditioner. As there is just two of us it takes a while to get through so it’s not on my regular list

heckythump01 · 17/02/2022 07:50

Olive oil!
I always forget it when I need it that night for a recipe as I've ran out. I've been known to go to the local shop for it and come back with wine and no oil.Grin

KittenKong · 17/02/2022 08:01

Conditioner because the bottles are the same size as shampoo but you just use more conditioner…

Wafflehouse · 17/02/2022 08:17

Usually non-food things like kitchen foil, toothpaste, shampoo - I use a shampoo bar, but no one lets me know the shampoo is running out until it’s actually gone and then it’s usually three trips to the shops before it’s remembered.

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 17/02/2022 08:36

Usually basics like salt or olive oil. Or things I would buy in bulk that last a long time such as tinned lentils and chickpeas that I don’t realise are gone until I go to get the back ups from the garage and the shelf is bare.

Thelongdarkteatime · 17/02/2022 08:40

Olive oil! Have made some interesting recipes trying to make do with whatever random flavoured oil we have in the house

KittenKong · 17/02/2022 08:54

My mum was a war child - therefore she always had enough provisions in the house to get us all through a nuclear winter. I have inherited that so generally have cans of coffee, sack of rice, tonnes of pasta and long life milk… of course it means that I find some very old things at the back of cupboards.

kennythekangaroo · 17/02/2022 08:58

Little things that you don't use very often but are essential for certain recipes like particular spices, vanilla essence or baking powder.

Or the practical stuff like bars of soap and toothpaste .

rubbish bin liners. There is always plenty, and all of a sudden I'm marrooned and out of it!

PyjamasOClock · 17/02/2022 11:23

Agree re herbs and spices, had a clear out recently and now there are no best before 2017 jars in there but many haven't been replaced.
The right kind of flour or sugar for a recipe.
Plus I either have loads of cheese or hardly any!

Cuck00soup · 17/02/2022 11:54

I’ve just remembered another thing I always forget and have to go back for, (see what I did there?). Batteries.
