Created for Zapp

Whether it’s loo roll for the hundredth time or the bottle of wine you were really excited for, we want to know the items you need, but always forget to buy at the supermarket.

  • Post your items in the thread below to be entered into a prize draw
  • One lucky MNer will win a £200 voucher for a store of their choice
Here’s what Zapp has to say:

“Run out of nappies at 3 in the morning? Haven’t had time to go to the shops to pick up dinner? Or simply just need a glass of wine after a long day? Zapp is here to save the day.

Choose from over 2,000 curated items, delivered in 20 minutes or less, with no minimum order value and free delivery over £30. You look after the kids, let Zapp look after you.”

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

I never forget the alcohol :-)

However I tend to forget flavour-enhancing things that I don't use every day and only think of when I go to use them, and get annoyed we don't have them- like dark soya sauce, cinnamon, fish sauce, mirin, brown sugar, etc.

Naturally I don't write them down, and then don't buy them, then get annoyed when I need them... and so the cycle goes.

Tin foil and cheese

Honeybee151172 · 16/02/2022 02:57

Bin bags, washing up liquid, tin foil, condiments, poo bags ☺️

Dinkiedee · 16/02/2022 04:58

I always forget washing up liquid until I’m squeezing the last drops out of the bottle

Magicshoppingtrolley · 16/02/2022 05:04

Usually the one thing I've gone in for...no matter what it is. I spend £20 on other stuff but forget that particular item.

Oh and bin bags! Always forget them! Hidden down some obscure aisle

MixedClassBaby · 16/02/2022 05:13

Soy sauce and tonic water.

NaerDoWell · 16/02/2022 06:06

I always forget the store cupboard type things - tomato ketchup, soy sauce, flour etc.

And I usually only realise once I've started cooking and need that ingredient!

Roseyposey1 · 16/02/2022 06:14

Cat food, dog food and razors!!

CeeceeBloomingdale · 16/02/2022 07:04

The cupboard staples you always assume you have like Worcestershire sauce, olive oil, tomato puree. Oh and shampoo, I'm always running out.

queenoftheschoolrun · 16/02/2022 07:53

Bin bags! No idea why but it seems I’m not the only one at least!

pushchairprincess · 16/02/2022 08:09

Toothpaste and interdental floss - we always think of the 'essentials' but forget what are our routine items

jacqui5366 · 16/02/2022 08:11

Washing up liquid and onions . Just when you want to make a spag bol, or want to soak your pans - the cupboard says no

lovemyflipflops · 16/02/2022 08:13

Coffee - just when you think you have that 'spare jar' in the cupboard, and need your morning caffeine fix - luckily I had some sachets in a handbag from a recent hotel stay - saved the day Brew

Lolly86 · 16/02/2022 08:24

Loo roll, washing up liquid, ketchup!Grin

outnumbered77 · 16/02/2022 09:03

Tea bags. We all drink a lot of tea and fill up the kitchen tea caddy from a large box in the garage. Always assume there's lots in the garage and then forget to buy more.

silversand12 · 16/02/2022 09:09

For me it's pepper! Or similar things like salt

Though probably whatever I went in to buy that was the most needed Grin

Takenoprisoner · 16/02/2022 09:38

Always non food items. Bin bag, washing up liquid, tissues.

scooterbear · 16/02/2022 09:47

Washing up liquid. Every damn time. Currently using hand soap in desperation

Havehope21 · 16/02/2022 09:52

salt, pepper, spaghetti, olive oil - normally 'everyday' items that just drop off the list when planning other things.

MondayYogurt · 16/02/2022 12:26

Food bin liners

Pillowaddict · 16/02/2022 12:34

Bread, despite using it for lunchtime sandwiches, have had to cobble packed lunches together with corn cakes/mini sausages/sausage rolls etc in the past to make up for lack of sandwich!

trumpisagit · 16/02/2022 12:38

Cat food.
It's always on my list but often forgotten

PPCD · 16/02/2022 12:44

Bin bags, tin foil, ketchup. Anything that I don't buy weekly so when I need I forget it.

cannotmakemymindup · 16/02/2022 14:58

It's usually a fruit or vegetable, something I need for a dinner as well. Normally I have 'dreamed' I had one or two in the fridge but clearly not!

FrecklesMalone · 16/02/2022 15:19

Almost always bin bags, dog food and loo roll. Very annoying!
