I found fit flops around 6 years ago. I suffer from over pronation, bunions and fallen arches! I also have big, wide feet. Lovely!
With all that put into the mix i really struggle with confort and style. I alternate between superga trainers in a range of styles and colours and fit flops. This summer i chose these, stylish and so comfy!

Summer sandals have to be comfortable and able to support your foot whilst in the heat, and can swell when walking, I have 3 pairs of fitflops, and they are my best friend in the summer.
I like support, a bit of height, a selection of colours, and with me I do not notice they are on my feet when out, they feel like my comfiest carpet slippers.

I loved browsing the website - so many colours designs and prices (particularly the sales). The pair closest to my current fitflops which I would choose are www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/iqushion-wave-pearlised-cross-slides-p-W12#010

NeverTwerkNaked · 26/07/2019 10:32

I live in a mixture : lightweight trainers for driving/ sport
Ballerinas for work (the office is air conditioned so sandals would mean my feet froze): I love this pair www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/allegro-rockstud-strappy-leather-ballerinas-p-R69#001

And then flip flops/slide on sandals for schlepping around in the garden or the beach etc. I love these ones www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/strata-whipstitch-leather-toe-thongs-p-L54#001

Ijustwanttoretire · 26/07/2019 10:40

I live in my Fitflops - I had a pair of HiTec walking sandals but I wore them out - I would love a pair of Birkenstocks but they don't go big enough (I'm a size 9). I am of an age where I am now looking at comfort over style, so I am still looking, in the mean time I will stick with my wear-all-the-time Fitflops!

sugarbum · 26/07/2019 11:01

My favourite sandals to wear are the traditional menorcan style (avarcas). I have a ton of shoes/sandals but these are so easy just to slide your feet into, and they are cool and comfortable to walk in, in spite of being such a simple style.

I love these from the fitflop site, but I suspect they are too narrow as I have tried a cova style before. I'd love it if they came in wider styles.

Well my MN username says it all - I do love my flip flops and FitFlops, they are practical, comfortable and give my feet the support I need.

I wear my FitFlips most of the year, and having had a look at your website there are so many designs, practical, colourful, ones to give me a bit of height, and for the pool nothing can beat just flipping them off and jumping in - having them waiting for you poolside is just part of summer holidays for me.

The pair which caught my eye are www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/lottie-padded-toe-thongs-p-T76#012

Kittywampus · 26/07/2019 13:05

I live in teva sandals for most of the summer, they are the only ones that I have found that I can walk in all day, and run around after children in. My current favourite are teva Kayenta because they are comfortable without being too ugly.

I would love to win a pair of these fitflop cova gold sandals for when I want to look a bit more dressed up www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/cova-ii-closed-toe-leather-sandals-p-Q96#667

redbook · 26/07/2019 13:10

I'm currently pregnant so can't bear to have my fat feet confined in shoes and can only wear flip flops.

Usually I quite like colourful sandals for summer. They have to be practical to run around after DC, but a splash of colour makes me happy. These ones are nice www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/annah-novaweave-leather-slides-p-X72#003

CallmeBadJanet · 26/07/2019 13:59

I wear Fitflop slides as slippers in the summer. My feet don't ache and I feel stylish even at home!

i love these rose gold flip flops they are so pretty and comfortable. They will be perfect for summer holidays and days out with the children. They will look nice with my cut offs and summer dresses.

I have issues with my left ankle which is permanently swollen due to oesteo-arthritis, so look out for good walking shoes/trainers/sandals. The shoes in places like Shoe Zone are not of good quality, but have bought a few pairs at Debenhams on a wide fitting shoe, and have looked at places like Ecco as their is a shoe shop on our main town's high street, but their prices are way too much, so would wait for a sale, which i guess would the case with Fitflop. But my daughter in law has bought this brand before and loves it, so may look at their site now. And especially after having read some of the reviews here as well giving a good review.

MonicaW · 26/07/2019 16:27

My go to summer shoes are my fab FitFlop pink crystal toe-thongs - they are incredibly comfy and very versatile too which means I can wear them with everything from floaty summer skirts to my mum jeans! Smile

I love these gorgeous FitFlop Loosh Luxe Metallic Leather Cross Slides - so pretty!:

Ofpalestsilver · 26/07/2019 16:47

As soon as there's even a hint of warmth, I'm in sandals! But not the wee strappy ones that are essentially just a piece of cardboard and string, I get chunkier ones that give me more support so I can walk around in them. I do a lot of walking so I need something that is comfortable and cool!

Tbf, this post has made me think about FitFlops as an option cos I hadn't really thought of them before but they do fit the brief!

Ofpalestsilver · 26/07/2019 16:51

Whoops - and I forgot about the other part of this which is to include the shoes you like. I think these audacious badboys would be for me: www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/braid-metallic-leather-back-strap-sandals-p-R95#667

fairydustandpixies · 26/07/2019 17:55

I wear the Fitflops brand all year round and have done since about 2012. I don't find any footwear as comfortable, okay, so they're pricey but they last and last.

The only time I've not worn them is when I had to wear wellies at a festival. OMG, were my feet and legs in agony by the end of the four days, I wanted to cry!

I. Love. Fitflops. Just saying!

These! Look gorgeous and most importantly super comfortable too!

With the school run I’ve been wearing a pair of comfortable yet ugly trainers as the only other summer sandals I own ripped my feet to shreds when I attempted to walk the mere 1 mile to school and back.

I’d love a pair of stylish yet comfy sandals to see me through the summer.

IWouldBeSuperb · 26/07/2019 20:21

After too many years of shredding my feet in cheap sandles, good quality leather designs are now my summer go to - so worth the money to not end up hobbling barefoot!

The Sarita leather slingbacks would be fab for summer workwear- and might even be the holy grail for a comfortable non-trainer commute option!

StarlightToCasualMoths · 26/07/2019 21:04

I have a pair of FItflop Covas that I love - my other favourites are Birkenstocks.

Comfort is everything!

Frumpypigskin · 27/07/2019 07:43

I wear trainers a lot in the summer, even though they're hot I walk a lot and find they are the only shoes that I can walk in and not suffer with sore aching feet afterwards.
A pair of fitflops would mean that I didn't always have to carry an alternative pair of shoes in my bag for when I 'arrive' somewhere and want to look a bit smarter.

These are the ones I'd go for: Snakeskin Rally

GettickledGETTICKLEDbyspiders · 27/07/2019 08:36

It’s a nightmare for find summer shoes for me.
I have been searching for a pair for the day that I can wear when out at the park etc with my children that are easy to wear as I am trying to walk everywhere to get fitter but that don’t look really old fashioned. Buying cheapy flip flops is a false economy as they just go paper thin after a short time.
I had a look in the Fitflop website and I fancy a pair of these Smile www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/tia-leather-sandals-p-L36#001

I am also looking for a pair of sandals for summer nights out. Something I can wear with dresses that means I feel cool and comfy but also a bit more glam.

DontFundHate · 27/07/2019 10:53

I love tan sandals, got to have a strap around the back of my ankle, got to be comfy and with good grip. Hard to find a good pair but there are some great ones out there!

DontFundHate · 27/07/2019 10:55

Oops forgot to link, I love these :)

, we are asking you what are your absolute must-haves shoes in the summer?some lightweight trainer types.and some slip ons.i find it really hard to shop for summer shoes.but it eventually comes down t comfort not style as i often find the styled ones are so uncomfrotable with seems or mateiral in all the horrible places that cause discomfort.
i have really sensitive feet so it has to be shoes that wont rub!becasue they all seem to.or have lips or ridges that dig in all the senstive or rubbed parts of the foot.
they need to be good to walk in.i love the ones that makes you feel you have a bit of bounce in your foot so your more good to go walking with purpose.sketcher ones are great for this.

summer shoes should have a style which supports you feet, I walk better (and faster) in shoes which a back strap (I would wear flipflips by the pool when walking short distances). Summer shoes should also let your feet breath and not being too tight when your feet swell in the heat.

The pair which ticks all the boxes for me is www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/lulu-mirror-cross-back-strap-sandals-p-K51#484
