My summer routine is I buy a pair of denim blue ‘DUDE’ brand fabric deck shoes. These are my annual summer go to shoes....I also have about 3 pairs of flip flops from primary - usually white, Pink and army green and these 3 shoes keep me going all summer. I avoid black in summer as I’m always wearing it hahaha. I found last year though I damaged my foot dropping a drawer on it and now I’m struggling to walk far in flip flops. They are too flat and no support. I wouldn’t mind trying FitFlops as until today I had no idea they did anything ‘other’ than flip flops.! I am at an age where I can’t just throw anything on my feet !

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 25/07/2019 15:53

Very flat sandals and flip flops were the downfall of my feet a few summers ago. I now have issues with my arches and have to wear orthotics. During the summer months I can't bear to wear shoes/trainers, so wear Fitflops instead. They do the trick.

I like the look of these. They are sporty on trend and comfortable enough to span the range of summer holiday activities. Think I'd opt for them in the red to show off a tan and to coordinate with black, navy and neutrals.

dottyaboutstripes · 25/07/2019 15:58

I'm living in my Fitflop bronze iqushion flip flops. SO comfy and look great!
I could really do with some black shoes so I'd plump for a ballerina style. But what I'd really like is some more flip flops 😊

shewhomustbeEbayed · 25/07/2019 17:42

I’m currently living in a pair of bright pink Merrell walking sandals which I bought last Summer.
I love my sheepskin Fitflop boots in the winter and also have a pair of suede clog style which are useful around the house.

Shoom72 · 25/07/2019 17:53

I love flipflops of all kinds but like decent long lasting ones. I have always loved the idea of getting fit as you walk!

Anj123 · 25/07/2019 18:07

I love these ones

www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/skylar-back-strap-sandals-p-W29#592

I always have difficulty finding footwear because I have flat feet and have to wear special insoles from my podiatrist or trainers with structured support. I can’t put the insoles in sandals and wish I could find some with the support I need. I already have Fitflops which I love but can’t walk as far in them as I can in my trainers. I’d love a manufacturer to make some! My feet are quite small (size 3) and I have found over the years that I need back straps otherwise my feet are trying to keep mules on and hurting them in the process. I also prefer FitFlops with toe stools. I have some with straps that go across my foot. They look lovely and comfortable but the straps hurt my feel so unfortunately I can’t wear them.

Anj123 · 25/07/2019 18:11

I meant to say in my earlier message that I have 2 pairs of Fitflops. One pair with the toe bit that are very comfortable, and the other with the strap across my foot which aren’t.

I like these with the chunky buckle straps.
Generally in the summer I like the Birkenstock style sandals as they comfy and easy to slip on. I do love menorcan leather sandals too.

Stuffofawesome · 25/07/2019 18:57

I need comfort and coolness and something that doesn't rub. Needs good arch support too. I like summer shoes to look good and may be more colourful than winter shoes but will always choose comfort over fashion

fishnships · 25/07/2019 18:58

Birkenstocks for comfort but this year I was lucky enough to find a pair of flatform sandals that look smart, make me look taller and are actually comfortable and stable. I love them! They have a pre-formed footbed and I got them from TK Maxx so not expensive. Thought they'd be like fashion sandals so saved for smart occasions mostly but honestly they are SO comfy!

user1490649494 · 25/07/2019 19:06

Every year I bring out my original fitflops which have travelled the world with me for at least 10 years

Jaderice21 · 25/07/2019 20:34

i like a good pair of slip-on pumps keep your feet cool and match everything without fail

c75kp0r · 25/07/2019 21:13

every year I buy sandals from Aldi for a few quid. The straps are adjustable and the soles seem to be made from cork.

I love these. I am all for comfort, flat sandals with a back strap, flip flops or Sketchers

imacmum · 25/07/2019 22:48

I like to get the fresh air to my feet and this in turn keeps me cool, that’s why FitFlops are the best thing to wear in summer weather. Love the stylish designs and colours. I actually find they help with my back pain as they cushion the impact of your feet hitting the ground when walking and my osteopath is pleased I wear them. I confess I love a nice new pair and hate getting rid of any, just look in my wardrobe to prove it. Easy to walk in, some of them have an ankle strap, and comfortable to wear, I just love them

Straysocks · 25/07/2019 22:57

I hate socks. Hate 'em. My feet are out from late March to early October. I panic when my feet get hot, noticeable by my jagged dance and short temper. Best for everone if I'm in sandals but I HAVE LOST ONE SANDAL! Klaxons on please. In this heat it constitutes a crisis. And I keep seeing the not-lost sandal and it is driving me mad. Where does one sandal go? Did I come home with one sandal? No. So, yes, I would love a pair sandals. Now wearing my house slippers outside and it is neither big nor clever.

Daddylonglegs1965 · 25/07/2019 23:15

In summer I want comfort, good arch support (I have had plantar fasciitis in the past which is extremely painful and I certainly don’t want to get that again), versatile shoes (that will go with everything), from a maxi or midi dress, trousers, culottes, jeans etc. I also want convenient quick to put on shoes I don’t want to be messing about wasting time with laces or buckles. So I want shoes or sandals that I can pop on quickly to nip out to the shops and pop off quickly and without faff under my desk at work etc.
I have had numerous pairs of FITFLOPS over the years they are extremely hard wearing and I wear them to death. The ones I have now I wear everyday. These ones I am living in now are a pair of tan leather wedge sliders from last year. I wear them in the house most days (year round as an alternative to slippers), they go with everything, I wear them for work, going into town, on holidays (abroad and in the UK), shopping etc etc.
I love my FITFLOPs and want another pair but I can’t actually decide which ones to go for their is so much choice and so many I like.

RaininSummer · 25/07/2019 23:18

For comfort it's my fitflops but tragically my black pair actually broke today after seeing me through several summers. I also wear sketcher go walks for the journey to work and have some unsuitable for normal life sandals in the desk at work to change into. Will have to replace my fitflops.

Laney79 · 26/07/2019 05:34

I love my lightweight sketchers goga mat pumps. They are really comfy and keep my feet really cool and look pretty funky with Capri leggings and a tunic top!

Going out wise I have a selection of lovely sandals (including a gorgeous multicolour pair from moshulu).

Comfort is key for me-days are long gone that I'd sacrifice looks over happy feets!

libra101 · 26/07/2019 06:49

My must-have shoes in the summer are cool, comfy sandals or Sketchers pumps (for walking the dog).

Have checked the FitFlop website, and found a comprehensive range of stylish, smart and trendy shoes and sandals. They look brilliant, perfect for any occasion.

But there's just one BIG problem! Checking the sizes FitFlop do, they start at size 3. As I (and many other women find) when your shoe size is 2, it's not worth looking any further.

However, the sandals I choose are made by Flyflot who make wonderful comfortable footwear in smaller sizes. Fitflop take note!

When going away I pack Flyflots and Sketchers as they can be worn almost anywhere. And never forget to pack wetwipes as they're useful for any occasion.

DivisionBelles · 26/07/2019 07:26

I've been alternating between two pairs of Havianas, both with a back strap so more like barely there sandals, and my trusty pink Birkenstocks. I get hot feet and don't want them too covered up. I've got my eye on these https://www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/elyna-weave-leather-back-strap-sandals-p-W75#734 as they look so comfy. Going to Portugal in October so they'd be perfect for walking, and smart enough for wearing with a dress.

These rally black leather sneakers are just what I'm looking for, for the summer as an alternative to my usual Birkies. I generally live in Birkies Arizona or Madrid sandals. I have wide feet with high arches, have also had plantar fasciitis in the past so it is difficult to find shoes to fit that are comfortable.

blackleggingsandatshirt · 26/07/2019 08:25

I had a pair of fitflops years ago, and wore them until they virtually fell apart - through years of comfy wear, after seeing the prices an range on the website, I don't know why I did not go back to a comfy fitflop.
I choose a sandal which lets my feet breathe, support my feet and are comfortable, they have to have a bit of a heel to give me a bit of height. The colour has to go with most outfits an style, saying that, these are perfect . www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/lulu-mirror-cross-back-strap-sandals-p-K51#301

SouthWestmom · 26/07/2019 08:44

I wear converse pretty much all year round, slim metallic ones in the summer. I can't be bothered to make my feet look amazing for tiny sandals 😂

I love the Lena metallic loafers - I don't like lots of detail on shoes but I do love (magpie fashion) anything shiny

Freshstart40 · 26/07/2019 08:47

I just adore these Barra
I have young children and do a lot of running after bikes, scooters etc etc so need a cool shoe with straps, that stays on when I walk/jog about!
These are gorgeous, no hint of granny at all!
