After years of probably having to watch all sorts of wonderful and occasional strange children’s TV shows, it’s hard to not ending up having favourites...whether you love them in secret or not.]] would like to know which children’s shows you are more than happy to watch with your DC and why they’ve become your favourite.

Here’s what ]] have to say: “Now it’s the summer holidays, more and more families are streaming children’s shows such as Shaun The Sheep, My Little Pony, The Penguins of Madagascar and Just Add Magic. It’s great when you find a show that you can enjoy that works for both child and parent, and we would love to know what these shows are for you and your family.”

Has Dora the Explorer been an all-time favourite of yours for years because you end up learning things too? Perhaps you love trying to figure out who the baddy is in Scooby-Doo along with your DC? Maybe seeing Tom & Jerry on the screen always brings back some great nostalgic memories of when you were a child? Or do you love Postman Pat purely for the great theme tune?

Whatever your favourite children’s programme is, share them on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw to win 1 of 3 Amazon Fire Kids Edition Tablets, made just for kids.

Thanks and good luck

Ben and Holly, it's very cleverly written.

thismeansnothing · 09/08/2018 17:43

Thankfully DD has just moved into CBBC. She doesn't watch loads but I love Tilly and the Ramsey Bunch and Ice/Gym Stars

smallchair · 09/08/2018 17:57

I have a secret penchant for gigglebiz and anything by Justin Fletcher. I also love the go jetters.

JellySlice · 09/08/2018 18:40

In the Night Garden. SmileSmileSmileSmile

It's just soooo chill. And bonkers. And I love Makka Pakka's blanket, and the Ombly Boos' trousers, and the Ninky Nonk (or is it the Pinky Ponk?) and and and!

And the fact that an icon of the modern theatre world, the Olivier of our time, Derek Jacobi, voices a totally bonkers children's programme! Those plummy, dulcet tones reciting utter gibberish in total sincerity.Grin

I love Sarah and Duck,Pj Masks and operation Ouch.

I like a few things off CBeebies, but I get very overinvested in Swashbuckle.

TheWizardofWas · 09/08/2018 19:06

Spongebob - but is that for children?

NeverTwerkNaked · 09/08/2018 19:22

I really loved watching the Octonauts when mine were younger.

Now I am secretly pleased when the picked to watch the Thundermans

Mindblank · 09/08/2018 19:25

Always quite liked Charlie & Lola. Nelly and Nora’s quite sweet too. Absolutely loathe Waffle!

Playdohnut · 09/08/2018 19:50

Teen Titans Go and Fangbone both appeal to my sense of humour as much as the kids. Danger & Eggs also.

Serafinaaa · 09/08/2018 20:03

Love Ben and Holly but my son now prefers paw patrol. He's 3.

Recently discovered Dino Dana. Quite like it.

Love horrible histories for my KS2 kids at work!

On CBeebies we watch twirl twos and teletubbies for my 20 month old.

destructogirl · 09/08/2018 20:14

Also love Ben and Holly (especially Nanny Plum and the Wise Old Elf).
Masha and the bear is lovely, I love the song she sings about the children washing their hands

sprinklesandsauce · 09/08/2018 21:09

The Worst Witch, MIA and Me, The Thundermans,

Oogle · 09/08/2018 21:15

Ben & Holly! I love Nanny Plum. “Silly old Elf, back to yourself” Grin

Although I weirdly found myself saying “nooo! Turn it back on! I want to know what happens!” when my 3yr old turned off Fireman Sam yesterday. Confused

CommonFishDiseases · 09/08/2018 22:36

I not so secretly enjoy a bit of Topsy and Tim... I think it's because I loved the books when I was little. DH finds Mummy and Dad incredibly annoying but I think it's deliciously cringey Blush

OnMyWayToday · 09/08/2018 22:43

Barbie:Life in the Dreamhouse..... it’s absolutely hilarious!!

Queenofthedrivensnow · 09/08/2018 22:54

My dds didn't adore any tv until we got Netflix. Dd2 loved Bubbleguppies and I happily watched it with her it's very cute.

The show we 3 as a family liked the most was Mia and Me - Klimt style animation and a brilliant storyline.

Now dd1 (8) and I are watching Anne with an E. I cry during every episode and dd1 is gripped. It's beautifully shot and very sharp and just wonderful.

buckley1983 · 09/08/2018 22:57

I tried to sway my son into liking the same programmes I liked when I was a kid.. it's been a partial success! Postman Pat went down like a lead balloon (apart from the theme song which he enjoyed) but he does love Scooby Doo which I am thrilled about! I could still quite happily watch it when he's gone off to bed! Grin
More modern favourites are Ben & Holly (love it!) & Charlie & Lola.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 09/08/2018 23:00

Hey Duggee - for the theme tune if nothing else!

Ben & Holly - gotta love Nanny Plum!

Angiemum23 · 09/08/2018 23:05

It has to be horrible histories, so funny.

DeeplyDippy76 · 09/08/2018 23:28

Go, go go, go go jetters!

For the funky facts and the sight of my 23 month old daughter dancing like a loon to the theme song, I even join her sometimes! #mumdaughtertime 😍

moonlightlady · 09/08/2018 23:40

i sit glued to Rolie Polie Olie when my grandson watches it

Bumblebeans · 09/08/2018 23:42

Sarah and Duck is beautiful. I adore it!

beck3001 · 09/08/2018 23:52

It has to be Fireman Sam!
It has those adult jokes.. like Norman's mum on about stuffing Trevor's peppers or bronwyn offering out her fishy nibbles Grin
