Share your Easter celebrations with Lidl to win vouchers NOW CLOSED

With Easter fast approaching, Lidl would love to hear how you celebrate!

Meal - do you get the family together over a huge feast? If so is it the traditional lamb roast or do you embrace spring with a BBQ or something completely different?

Gifting - if you got out of cooking and are visiting family instead, do you take flowers – maybe lovely spring daffodils or a favourite wine for the chef? And let's not forget chocolate - are you into fancy eggs, chocolate animals or do you manage to keep Easter sweet free?

Activities - How do you keep your DC entertained during the run up to Easter? Do you do an Easter egg hunt? Do you bake something special or decorate eggs or do particular arts and crafts?

So share your Easter celebrations on this thread, and everyone who posts below will be entered into a prize draw where five winners will each get £50 to spend in Lidl.

Saturday is the day we get together as a family. Usually at my parents for a big leg of lamb generously garnished with garlic and Rosemary. I usually take a bunch of tulips and a nice bottle of red to say thank you.

We generally spend the Sunday at our local pub, which has arts and crafts, an Easter egg hunt and an Easter bonnet competition for the children and a DJ.

Dd and I have already made her Easter bonnet in the hopes of finally bagging the giant egg this year!

Luckily this year , I have a few days off and my partner also has holiday so depending on the weather we may venture out as a family. As our daughter is 14, she tends to amuse herself often. It is always nice to come together and do things as an immediate family and also with the rest of our family.
A nice roast lamb dinner followed by lots of chocolate Easter eggs, this is the only gifts we give and receive, I am not prepared to but expensive gifts for Easter. we always do an Easter egg hunt for the little kids and the older ones still like to get involved.
It's just nice to chill out with hopefully nice weather and enjoy the outside.

We'll buy ds an egg, but thats about it unfortunatly. Hopefully by then the weather will be better and we can go for a nice bike ride and have a treaty cream tea though Smile

For (adult) family, I usually buy gifts that grow rather than chocolate - sunflowers seeds and pot, olive tree etc. DS is too young to understand this year, but in future years we will organise an egg hunt for him and neighbouring children. Usually get DN a book or Amazon voucher as I know SiL doesnt like him having too much chocolate. If DP is free on the day, we like to go for a scenic walk and end up at a farm shop.

Egg bopping- like a game of conkers - boiled eggs for everyone then in turn smash them off each the most intact at the end is winner of chocolate egg - then eggs are lashed with mayo and enjoyed in a Lidl baguette 🥖 🐣 🐰

We buy hot cross buns, cream eggs and Easter Eggs.
Hang decorations on a branch. I'd love to make an Easter wreath one year.
Do an Easter Egg Hunt in garden or elsewhere.
Do a local Easter scarecrow hunt.

Plant pumpkin seeds ready for Halloween!

We like to get the whole family together at Easter - we usually have lamb but also a mix of other dishes brought by family members, it's a lovely time to get together. I stock up on Easter eggs for my dc and my nieces and nephews in the run up to Easter (when there are offers on). Lidl bunnies are one of my favourites. We do an Easter egg hunt in the garden and maybe some craft activities like making bonnets or bunny masks.

Easter isn't that big in our house, we're not religious.

We do like a good egg hunt to find sweeties and chocolates. Then we get on with our regularly scheduled activities like picnics at the seaside.

When I was a teenager I used to get some CD singles instead of an egg. I think I probably wanted chocolate too. This year we are going to attempt a little egg hunt for DS and I will make a lovely Simnel cake.

We wake early in the morning and decorate (paint) hard-boiled eggs. We then go to church whilst the lamb is cooking in the oven, and lemon-curd hot cross bun bread and butter pudding cooks in the slow-cooker. After Easter Lunch we go for a walk to the local race course where we have an egg-rolling competition down the slopes of the race course. We use the hard-boiled eggs that were decorated earlier that day. The winner is the person with the lest damaged egg. When back at home we stuff ourselves with chocolate eggs whilst watching a family film. LOVE Easter.

It is my birthday on 7th April so it sometimes coincides with Easter. If it is around Easter, we go out for Sunday lunch with all the family. However, if my birthday is not around Easter, we go out for a long walk and we do an easter egg treasure hunt around my mum and dad's large garden. We've even been known to BBQ if the weather is nice.

Usually for Easter we go to my parents in law and they set up an Easter egg hunt for my daughter but this year my wife and I are taking a short holiday on our own for the first time since our daughter's been born

As someone who travelled across germany easter is my favourite time of the year. We decorate the house. I have got ldll decorations in previous years as they the only place in the uk that seems to do them. Easter is the celebration of spring. Last years easter egg hunt was a wash out so did it inside.

We have a traditional Sunday roast...never lamb as my husband is the only one that likes it. We always give Easter eggs although I give my husband something different as he doesn't like chocolate.
My son I invites the neighbours children round for an Easter egg hunt in the garden.

I'm very traditional and do a roast lamb family dinner and a simnel cake. We do an Easter egg hunt with clues which my hubby writes and he does them really well - cryptic and rhyming. Fresh flowers are a must too.

We make Easter cookies and have a massive egg hunt (in the garden if dry) - everyone has a basket and we rush to fill them. I always keep a few back in case someone hasn't managed to get a fair share. We usually spend the day at Grandmas

always an easter egg hunt first in the house, then the garden, this is the only day of the year my little ones are allowed chocolate for breakfast, it just makes it more special. So I can spend time with them, I load my slow cooker op with lamb shanks and vegetables to eat at dinner......followed by more easter eggs if they have eaten their dinner of course.

We don't celebrate Easter, I've never really seen it as an occasion to celebrate or make specal by getting together or cooking a special meal. We do make it fun for the children though, we do an egg hunt in the morning and they'll also have a main egg each. Easter is one of my favourite half terms though, the weather is starting to get better so we can get out more and there are lots of themed activities in our area.

We have a big family get together which includes an Easter egg hunt for all my nephews& Nieces and my own children. They absolutely love it. I just like catching up with family as life is so busy now days.
