With Easter fast approaching, Lidl would love to hear how you celebrate!

Meal - do you get the family together over a huge feast? If so is it the traditional lamb roast or do you embrace spring with a BBQ or something completely different?

Gifting - if you got out of cooking and are visiting family instead, do you take flowers – maybe lovely spring daffodils or a favourite wine for the chef? And let's not forget chocolate - are you into fancy eggs, chocolate animals or do you manage to keep Easter sweet free?

Activities - How do you keep your DC entertained during the run up to Easter? Do you do an Easter egg hunt? Do you bake something special or decorate eggs or do particular arts and crafts?

So share your Easter celebrations on this thread, and everyone who posts below will be entered into a prize draw where five winners will each get £50 to spend in Lidl.

Thanks and good luck!

We always try and get together for a family meal - usually a roast. But, our main tradition is to exchange those tiny little fluffy easter chicks.

Each year we try and spot new versions - we loved the ones in the baskets.

We're not into buying Easter eggs as they seem so expensive compared to what you actually get, so we just buy nice chocolate as a gift instead. Loving reading everyone's Easter traditions!

We have a Easter egg hunt in the garden for the little ones first thing in the morning- it's like Xmas! We don't tend to do a massive dinner but do have lots of hot cross buns and cups of tea for guests.

I love Easter! In the run up we make an Easter tree, which is a branch we find in the woods - it usually ends up a glittery, multi coloured disaster but dc enjoys it!! Dd wants to make an Easter bonnet this year - we have never successfully managed one yet!

On Easter Sunday we have an egg hunt for my dc and nephews. This year as they're getting a bit older we are going to attempt an egg treasure hunt with a little map. Afterwards we have a nice dinner, going to do a hot buffet this year. It's a lovely family time!

I like to have a vase of daffodils on the windowsill and basically we gorge on chocolate after exchanging eggs, for one day only!! xx

We always have an Easter egg Hunt - I slowly stock up after Christmas and then my husband and I go out early one morning over the easter holidays and hide eggs in our nearby national park. It is a quiet park and the eggs are well hidden. We then give clues and the children have to mentally work as well as physically to go find the eggs - Great Fun - Then we finish with a picnic (weather permitting)

We give out the eggs in the morning and have an Easter egg hunt. We have our family around for a roast dinner and then go out somewhere for the afternoon.

Church on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. An Easter Egg Hunt in the garden on Saturday afternoon followed by making Easter bonnets. A family lunch on Sunday.

We always have Easter Lunch at my partner's parents house - although there's barely enough room to fit us all in now!

A big dinner with all of the family and an easter egg hunt for the kids.

I don't celebrate Easter, but take the opportunity of the long weekend to visit my father and friends

blue25 · 09/03/2017 19:29

We make hot cross buns and Easter cupcakes in the lead up to Easter. On Easter Sunday, its chocolate eggs all round and a roast lamb dinner for the whole family.

natholland82 · 09/03/2017 23:34

We love Easter - we always start in the morning with an Easter egg hunt in my parents garden. We ask the children what sort of Easter egg they'd like, but I ask for a special fancy one :).

Then we all have a big lunch. We do have lamb, because we so rarely do and it's a real treat. I'm doing it a bit differently this time though. I'm doing slow cooked Moroccan spiced lamb shoulder, with flatbreads, salads and dips, rather than a traditional roast. Then we have some chocolate, but just a bit - we have a little bit then over several days, rather than scoffing it all.

Hot cross buns for breakfast Good Friday (and often Sunday as well), Easter Egg hunt and roast dinner on Easter Sunday and a small gift for the children on the Monday

Pimmpom · 10/03/2017 09:14

Always enjoy a roast lamb dinner on Easter Sunday if we are at home. The children are now older teenagers but there are still lots of Easter Eggs around!

mumpetuk1 · 10/03/2017 16:56
