The time has come round yet again for the Insight team at MNHQ to host our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year! Xmas Smile

We have had lots of staff changes in the team this year and sadly RebeccaEMumsnet is leaving us at Christmas to go back up north - we wish her the best - she’s a Star.

Read on for the chance to win...
~ A Just for Tots weekend break at Butlins in Minehead in May - this would be for a family in a newly refurbished Seaside Apartment with premium dining (worth more than £800) or
~ A £50 giftcard to spend at M&S or
~ A £50 giftcard to spend in Matalan or
~ A REN skincare Moroccan Rose Otto Luxury set worth £49

In 2016, we have given away over £50,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers in exchange for sharing feedback, completing a short survey or for simply sharing a tip on a thread Smile.

Our faves this year have been giving MNers and their families money to spend in PizzaExpress on their new menu, sending them to the Slumberland factory (and then hearing how their new mattresses helped make bedtime bliss), having a Wizarding Time with a massive MN group at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in Watford and being one of the first to try and hear loads about new Coca-Cola Zero Sugar at Coke HQ. We LOVED your imaginary play tales for MegaBloks and we were thrilled when our baby names survey made the headlines.

For a chance to win one of the prizes, please do one of the below

a) Share on this thread what you have enjoyed taking part in this year, or appreciated reading about OR
b) Tell us on this thread what you’d like to product test next year OR
c) Join the panel * - where you'll have the opportunity to share your views with MNHQ on a variety of topics and with the companies we work with and chances to win vouchers OR
d) Follow us or retweet one of our tweets over on our new-for-this-year twitter page @MumsnetInsight *

  • NB if you do c or d post on this thread to let us know you’ve done it to be entered into the draws!

Most of the product tests, surveys etc are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely insight research panel, as well as often giving them the heads up about the latest things and chances to win on site. If you are not yet on our panel please do sign up now. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it’s not for you.

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Smile

Happy Christmas! Xmas Grin
AnnMumsnet, PoppyMumsnet, EmmaMumsnet, JustineBMumsnet (not that one), and RebeccaEMumsnet.

I've just joined so I'm new to all this - but am looking forward to getting stuck in this year.

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 28/12/2016 12:12

I'd love to product test pretty much anything [not fussy]. Toiletries, food, toys, and appliances are good but the range you have is pretty good imo.

BigBroIsWatching · 28/12/2016 12:18

I'd like to test a bed that I actually get a decent night sleep in! Most mattresses we purchase don't seem to last very long 😊😊

Alizzle · 28/12/2016 12:20

I would really like to product test tumble dryers or heated airers!

karolyn123 · 28/12/2016 12:21

I would love to test teeth whitening products to see if they really do work !

Monkeychopsticks · 28/12/2016 12:26

I'd like to test out some tea, we drink a whole lot of tea in this house and that'd be great...or chocolate!

Trills · 28/12/2016 12:27

My top request for the insight panel is to always specify in the emails or thread titles who is eligible for survey - if you need people in the UK or people with children of a certain age make sure to say it upfront.

This has gotten better this year.

Coke Zero new recipe is surprisingly OK - Coke Zero is my favourite coke and I was worried that it might change to be less-how-I-like-it :)

sassolino · 28/12/2016 12:31

Love discovering new food products, so anything food related is always a bonus as a test product, especially if it's chocolate. And tea too. I'm a tea addict.
I am a member of the panel, but apart from numerous surveys the only actual product testing I did last year was for Napolina sauce.
I don't know if it's feasible, but it might be more of an incentive to get points for doing surveys, and once you accumulate enough, to be able to convert them into vouchers. I appreciate that you offer prize incentives, but if you never win, then enthusiasm for doing more surveys somehow fades away.
Happy new year!

sassolino · 28/12/2016 12:32

Forgot to add. I do follow on Twitter, and do RT occasionally.

sleepyMe12 · 28/12/2016 12:32

I loved the pizza express voucher, was a lovely treat.

Would love to test prams, holidays etc Grin

Trills · 28/12/2016 12:32

For example - your latest email said

"Complete a survey about family holidays - you could win a £300 voucher or a £250 Expedia voucher here."

I have participated in and have opinions on family holidays, so I clicked.

Then in the survey it says

"open to all UK MNers with at least one child at home who have had at least one family holiday (in UK or abroad)."

If you require me to have a child at home, why not put that in the email?

VelvetThunder · 28/12/2016 12:36

I've tested a couple little things this year including the pitrok deodorant and the nasal spray, both of which were good.
I'm excited to see what product tests will be on offer this year. I'm happy to try anything; food, beauty products, household appliances, holidays etc. There's usually a good wide variety on offer, so can't wait to see the next one.

delilabell · 28/12/2016 12:42

I'd love to test anything. I have missed out on them all!

MiddleClassProblem · 28/12/2016 12:48

I've been fortunate enough to test a few things this year. We loved testing the toddler snacks and nappies. One dog has had an extremely generous amount of dog food that we have only just finished.

Would love to test a light weight or handheld hoover that is thorough enough to get Labrador hair off carpeted stairs! Very specific Grin

rallytog1 · 28/12/2016 12:51

We've tested a lot of nappies over the last couple of years so I'd quite like the opportunity to test something else like toddler toys and equipment.

Timpani · 28/12/2016 12:55

I have loved taking part in product testing a kid's tablet. It's been brilliant!

I would like to test out a family friendly break... :)

1969angep · 28/12/2016 12:57

Ive loved been involved with the Mumsnet book threads ❤️️Would love a days out/events kind of testing page. It's always good to hear about ideas/places that might have passed you by....

MotherOfCats · 28/12/2016 12:58

I'd find it really useful to product test breast pumps. They're a big purchase and choosing the right one is really hard because there are very few reviews out there. I mean who gets to try more than one pump? You can't share them with your mum mates or return them if they're no good. So I think it would be great if Mumsnet came to the rescue and did a thread with pump reviews. It might help those mamas who feel they can't breastfeed because they don't get on well with pumping

Janussi · 28/12/2016 12:59

I would love to test home appliances

Mummyreindeerlegz · 28/12/2016 13:02

The stokke pram was amazing, I loved Testing that. The several hundred pounds of vouchers has been nice too. I've spread the word and lots of people I know have tested stuff or won prizes.

yasmin0147 · 28/12/2016 13:03

I've liked doing the surveys but I really wish I had some products to test. I have a new baby on the way so would love to test baby products.

Rosehips · 28/12/2016 13:06

I've enjoyed the product tests, the kids loved stuff coming in the post

QueenYnci · 28/12/2016 13:07

I'd love to test any days out (especially if they were Autism-friendly for DS) or different foods. I've just signed up to the panel.

burwellmum · 28/12/2016 13:19

My youngest and I had a brilliant time at Harry Potter World - so much better than we expected - despite the stress getting there as the M25 was shut.

Gingerbreath · 28/12/2016 13:22

I haven't been chosen for anything yet as I only signed up a few weeks ago. Anything to do with with baking would be great or something for my 2 dogs. Merry Christmas everyone!
