The time has come round yet again for the Insight team at MNHQ to host our annual round up of the year, to plead for those of you not yet on our panel to sign up and to thank you all for taking part in some amazing projects this year! Xmas Smile

We have had lots of staff changes in the team this year and sadly RebeccaEMumsnet is leaving us at Christmas to go back up north - we wish her the best - she’s a Star.

Read on for the chance to win...
~ A Just for Tots weekend break at Butlins in Minehead in May - this would be for a family in a newly refurbished Seaside Apartment with premium dining (worth more than £800) or
~ A £50 giftcard to spend at M&S or
~ A £50 giftcard to spend in Matalan or
~ A REN skincare Moroccan Rose Otto Luxury set worth £49

In 2016, we have given away over £50,000 in prizes - mainly in the form of vouchers in exchange for sharing feedback, completing a short survey or for simply sharing a tip on a thread Smile.

Our faves this year have been giving MNers and their families money to spend in PizzaExpress on their new menu, sending them to the Slumberland factory (and then hearing how their new mattresses helped make bedtime bliss), having a Wizarding Time with a massive MN group at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in Watford and being one of the first to try and hear loads about new Coca-Cola Zero Sugar at Coke HQ. We LOVED your imaginary play tales for MegaBloks and we were thrilled when our baby names survey made the headlines.

For a chance to win one of the prizes, please do one of the below

a) Share on this thread what you have enjoyed taking part in this year, or appreciated reading about OR
b) Tell us on this thread what you’d like to product test next year OR
c) Join the panel * - where you'll have the opportunity to share your views with MNHQ on a variety of topics and with the companies we work with and chances to win vouchers OR
d) Follow us or retweet one of our tweets over on our new-for-this-year twitter page @MumsnetInsight *

  • NB if you do c or d post on this thread to let us know you’ve done it to be entered into the draws!

Most of the product tests, surveys etc are on site but we also do a lot of projects with our lovely insight research panel, as well as often giving them the heads up about the latest things and chances to win on site. If you are not yet on our panel please do sign up now. You can select how often you get emailed and you can leave at any time if it’s not for you.

Thanks as ever for your time and feedback - all very much welcome Xmas Smile

Happy Christmas! Xmas Grin
AnnMumsnet, PoppyMumsnet, EmmaMumsnet, JustineBMumsnet (not that one), and RebeccaEMumsnet.

It would be great to test beauty products and small electrical items such as hairdryers, hair removal etc.
More tests aimed at teenagers / parents of teenagers would be good too.
Liked testing the Visqueen bin bags and still buy them now.

earthmoon · 22/12/2016 21:37

Something to ease cleaning my windows

Ladybirdtinselturd · 22/12/2016 22:26

I have been lucky enough to be choosen for a few trials related to my DC, I would really appreciate been chosen for a beauty product just for ME Wink

enjoyed product testing and most of all love reading the AIBU posts. guilty pleasure of mine.

heyday · 23/12/2016 04:26

Have joined the panel. It's not just the enjoyment of trying out new products that's beneficial it's also that some of the products can make a genuinely positive impact on family life especially products such as washing machines, hoovers etc. But even getting free food samples to try out can be fun. Hopefully testers and promoters are happy so it's a win, win situation.

pinkywink · 23/12/2016 04:33

I've joined the panelSmile

InTheDessert · 23/12/2016 06:33

Not tested anything this year. Have had vouchers for my thoughts tho.
Interesting reading all the requests for activities. If you go down that route, please remember not all of us live near London, Leeds, Birmingham Machester.

ginauk84 · 23/12/2016 07:13

I loved product testing the Sony Xperia even though it didn't come anywhere close to my Samsung Galaxy I really enjoyed the prduct and the X moments etc.

Already following on Twitter, have just retweeted your mega blocks post

Butteredpars1ps · 23/12/2016 10:03

I've not been picked this year, but there have some good products to try so I guess my picks have been popular.

For 2017 another washing machine test would be good; mine is still being temperamental and I'm sure it's only a matter of time before it will need upgrading. I would be able to give it a thorough test.

I'd love to try out some Family days out, meals and activities - particularly new things that we perhaps wouldn't ordinarily think to try.

Can I also put forward a Mumsnet research trip to Maui? I think we owe it to other Mumsnetters to try it out.

Dianic · 23/12/2016 10:04

Already joined the Insight Panel and have followed and RT'd on Twitter...

I'd love to test a new Stage 2 car seat for our DGS aged 10 months to make sure we get the right one!!

janney3 · 23/12/2016 10:34

We have been lucky enough to text a few products this year. The children really enjoyed the pasta sauce taste test and it got them really excited about cooking tea and trying each product each night for about a week.

We also tested the suncream which was good as it suited one of my sons very sensitive skin and we will continue to purchase.

WheresLarry · 23/12/2016 11:33

I have enjoyed being part of the Cadbury panel this year. I would have loved to have been picked to try the new bed/mattress a few months ago.

In 2017 I would love to test either a tumble dryer (seeing as ours has broken) or a vacuum cleaner.

Potsie · 23/12/2016 13:12

I would love to test some home appliances or products for young children. Chocolate testing is always good too!

mumsbe · 23/12/2016 14:56

I have really enjoyed being part of this years product tests from food products to baby products.
This year I would love to test cordless light weight hoovers and tracking watches for the kids.

mumsbe · 23/12/2016 15:01

I have loved taking part in all the product trials this year such as food and school uniforms and next year would love to take part in gadget trials

germina · 23/12/2016 15:09

Followed you on twitter. Smile

ButterflyOfFreedom · 23/12/2016 16:06

I would love to test a tablet or smartphone aimed at children.

Or any of the following (which we need!!):
Blender
Microwave
Handheld hoover

I'm currently part of the panel and enjoy doing the surveys & product tests etc. So please keep it up! Smile

clopper · 23/12/2016 18:55

I haven't had the opportunity to try anything big this year but we did enjoy decorating the Easter egg. I do like to read about different tests. I especially like the big ticket purchases such as washing machines , hoovers and cars as it gives you honest insight into pros and cons of various models and brands. It makes you consider models that you might not have bothered to look at previously when buying something.

billybear · 23/12/2016 19:11

my best trial was the pedigree dog food my dog charlie loved it, we were not expecting so much food it kept him going for ages, would love to test facial self tan,eye creams and dog toys ,

Anononoo · 23/12/2016 19:23

Oh the Vorwerk vacuum cleaner and mop, dream machine! So lucky to be chosen.
Next year, would love to test a spanking new gas hob, because I really need one!
One of those all in family resort holidays would be great too, as I owould never book one myself, much to DC' distress.

Gazelda · 23/12/2016 22:49

The Cadbury panel was fun. And we took part in the nationwide mystery shopper visit which was interesting.
I'd love to see product tests for days out and activities, not necessarily London based.
And I always love a cleaning product test.

debjani · 24/12/2016 06:49

Just joined the panel☺️

NettleTea · 24/12/2016 16:03

Im on the panel and enjoy filling in the surveys and looking at the new products - its always good to hear 'real' experiences of things rather than company selected reviews.
MORE PRODUCTS and days out please (we did a Sky one last year and it was great)

hanliying · 24/12/2016 16:20

Definitely going to the Coca-Cola hq. I got chance to taste and guess different type of drink. It was great!
